No Hard Feelings (2023)
Cringe
Sooo very cringy. I can't believe that I paid $6 to watch this. Jennifer Lawrence's character is annoying. She's unnecessarily b*tchy. Like really nasty to strangers and rude to everyone, including the main character, yet he still likes her. It's weird. I think if her character had been a little more likable, then the movie would've been slightly better. There were several scenes that were hard to watch because of how cringy it was. The party scene... what was that? Both car hood rides, especially the last one... why?? I like the actress who plays her friend (Natalie Morales) and I like Ebon Moss-Bachrach for what little he's in the movie, but even their characters are uninteresting. I hope the next movie that Jennifer Lawrence makes is better than this one.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit (2023)
What is this show??!
Idk where to start. The plot is terrible and the dialogue is really bad. No logic or common sense was applied when writing the script; the main characters make dumb decisions and the scenes go from one to another without warning. Also, the acting is AWFUL! I loved Dania Ramirez on Devious Maids, but that kind of cheesy acting doesn't work on this show. And Scott Caan is giving his usual flat performance. But mainly it's the plot that makes this show so bad--a major thing happens toward the end of ep1 and they just go about their night/next day like it's an average Tuesday. Don't even get me started on the plot and acting in the beginning of ep2. I doubt this show will be on TV for very long.
A Friend of the Family (2022)
Unbelievably naive parents, bad acting
Paquin's acting is hard to watch--her facial expressions are very forced. Hanks' and Lacy's acting is also not their best. But mainly it's the naiveté of the parents that makes it hard to believe. Idc what decade it was or what their religious affiliation was, no adult is this naive/dumb. They mindlessly get rid of evidence, believe that a grown man lying w/ a 12 yo is therapy, the mom gets over him kidnapping their daughter and F's him *after* the kidnapping and after knowing about her hubby's handy. No way! I bet the parents used these lies to hide a worse truth, only thing that makes sense.
Law & Order: Impossible Dream (2022)
Bad writing and wrong actors
I have never seen the original Law & Order series, but I've come to enjoy some of the spinoffs so I was looking forward to watching the reboot. Unfortunately, it's not very good. For one, the writing is bad-- there's no meaningful dialogue, no character development and no backstory to make the plot more interesting. Also, the acting is not very good. I don't know if it's the writers' or the director's fault, or if these actors are not the right cast for these roles, but either way they come off as stiff and boring... especially Jeffrey Donovan and Anthony Anderson. And so far it's copying current news headlines in a lame way and it's trying way too hard to be woke, both of which are annoying. I'll be surprised if this stays on TV as it stands.
