my problem with the film is he pacing.
19 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
OK. Star trek: the motion picture, could have been magnificent. What did they have? A brilliant director, a pretty wonderful cast, an amazing special effects team, and even a magnificent score by Jerry Goldsmith. Not only that, but the main villain is an unseen enemy, a threat the enterprise has never had to deal with. How could this concept get ruined? One man. Gene Roddenberry. It would make sense too have the producer and creator of the original series on board. Yet he wanted and made all the changes to show the beauty and mystery into the viewer. However he added way too much. so much in fact, the pacing of this movie was ruined. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a brilliant idea with all these special effects to instill a sense of wonder and mystery into the viewer. However if you do it for over 20 minutes without the story still going it has no meaning. Look at "Mad Max: Fury Road." The whole movie continues its pacing all the while showing off its special effects. Now imagine just showing the special effects without the story moving along. You get Star trek the motion picture. It's dull, long, and boring because of its pacing. It could have been magnificent sadly. Oh well, their is always the wrath of Khan.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Pretty amazing...
19 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
My dad went to see Pulp fiction when it came out in theaters. He saw it four more times after that. I had the honor of watching it with him when I finally turned 18 this May. What can I say about it? The screenplay is brilliant, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson , and even Bruce Willis knocked it out of the ballpark, and Quentin Tarantino directing is magnificent! Another draw for me was the fact the movie is not told chronologically, making the viewer focus their attention on what's happening down to the minor details. Often I can watch a film and wait a little bit before watching it again, however Pulp Fiction is a rare exception, since I wanna find out what I believe is in the briefcase. Also you can't go wrong if Christopher Walken makes one amazing cameo. Overall, I think this is a wonderful film. As a product of my generation, and loving this movie, it tells me this movie has aged well, and may continue to get better.

The '70s (2000)

Well... Could've been better.
31 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It feels like the director focused on the set and cinematography. The acting was flat and the screenplay only worked for Byron but no one else's story seemed to be as important. I feel if the story would've been better if you focused on Byron and Dexter only, you would have the story focused on the political side and the activist side throughout. That and make a 2000 movie not feel like a cheesy 70's movie (yes pun intended) the music worked throughout but it feels like the director places it all in the wrong places switching between soundtrack and score. Really this movie had potential but failed to deliver a powerful impact it could've had.

Sandra giving a terrible performance?
29 March 2016
If you believe Sandra bullock gave a terrible performance then please tell me how? Is it she lacks depth, or character building. Well of course not she does that. Do you hate it because she's playing a stereotypical Hollywood mother in your opinion? Ding ding ding! So your ranking her performance as bad because it's stereotypical? Because if she is she's doing it fantastically! You're not ranking her based on her performance you're ranking her because it's a Hollywood stereotype. So shut up! As I recall people are truly to rank performances based on the quality of their performance and not some crappy stereotype. If you think you can do better then her then by all means go do better then Sandra Bullock.

No one can be satisfied.
7 February 2016
I loved loved loved Star Wars. J.J. Abrams did an outstanding job and I'm very hypercritical of reboots or sequels. The bar I set for them is the Godfather part 2. While this film does not match Godfather part 2 it's still the movie I was expecting and more. What we got was an outstanding film with all the right elements adding In fan service and tying the story to the original movies. You can Listen to the other reviews but I know this film did it justice and People want empire strikes back. However this isn't Empire strikes back. This is the force awakens and the sooner people realize it the sooner they'll enjoy this movie. Don't take my word for it. You be the critic. Not let someone be your critic.
