The Endless (2017)
Missing something... actually everything.
This movie has hardly any intrigue. It's a boring story about two brothers who escape a cult and don't communicate correctly or openly enough. Lame.
I struggled to keep my eyes open during the film. I had to convince myself that the movie was original, but it's strung together haphazardly like a bad SyFy channel movie.
The acting is bad, too... I think they got the actors from all those really bad gay cinema actors pretending to be straight for this movie.
Bokeh (2017)
Where's the story?
It deserves one star. I gave it two because it was filmed in a beautiful country.
This movie has no plot! Just two dummies that are left behind. I've already seen this movie. Several times. And done better!
Patient Zero (2018)
I gave it 30 minutes.
I couldn't handle the copy/paste scenario, the very, VERY bad acting and cheesy storyline.
This movie has all the cliches in the book. It's embarrassing.
The Game of Thrones actors need to stick to their day jobs.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
On what planet?
On what planet does this movie make any sense?
This movie was feces from start to finish. I totally cringed throughout the entire movie.
The dialogue was totally flat. It was like the actors were reading line by line without context or emotion.
Then the zoom. The director LOVES the zoom button. Almost every boring scene is being zoomed in slowly. Really?
This has got to be one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen.
November 13: Attack on Paris (2018)
Good but missing something
The documentary was good when if you want to know what it was like to live through a terrorist attack.
What I would reproach is that they don't talk about the type of terrorist attack it was. If it weren't for the mention of the names of the last two, you could just as easily assume it was the Chinese that were attacking.
The documentary should have added more into what these people felt regarding being attacked for no reason other than an ideology and the impact that this had on the rest of their lives. How did it change the way they see global politics, religion and human beings in general?
They make a brief mention of the "culture of Paris"... Which is just the culture of the West. But they don't take it any further with any of the hostages - the joy that they were experiencing absolutely annahilated by Islamic terrorism...
Delirium (2018)
Painfully bad
Nothing but recycled scenarios and cliches. The movie makes absolutely no sense. The story was completely pointless and utterly ridiculous.
Wildling (2018)
Predictable
A low-key werewolf movie. So low-key, in fact, it's borderline boring.
The concept is contradictory. You can see they are trying to veer from a traditional werewolf storyline, but it's full of all the clichés. And on top of that, cheesy motherhood/pregnant lady clichés. Made me wanna puke at times it was so lame.
Mother! (2017)
Way too long
I'm giving this a 4 because it had so much lost potential. There was some creep potential that was totally lost. Some of the scenes were so drawn out I was nodding off because so much was happening at the same time that nothing was happening at all.
The references to the Bible seem to get lost because the story line all of a sudden strays from what we know of it and chooses an end to humanity that is completely off topic.
The Cobbler (2014)
Adam's career is officially OVER
OMG don't watch this movie. It's unbearably UNfunny. Adam needs to retire and banned from ever making another movie after this betrayal of a film!!
Jackie (2016)
BORING AF
Not at all what you would expect. You realize in this movie that Jacky O was just a very boring person... thanks for that.
Passengers (2016)
Overall a decent sci-fi flick
A good scenario and a decent budget for this movie made this one one of the better sci-fi movies in recent times.
Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017)
3rd times a curse
The movie was dumb.... real dumb. Unbelievable dumb. The first one was good... the second starts getting ridiculous. The last one completely shameful.
Annihilation (2018)
Beautiful cinematography
This movie was the perfect mix of imaginative cinematography and out-of-this-world weirdness! Aesthetically pleasing and a bit mysterious!
If there was just a liiiittle less mixing of the supernatural with sci-fi, it would have gotten a 10.
Lady Bird (2017)
Junk
If you want to watch a bunch of 10 second shallow scenes juxtaposed to make a 1.5 hour movie, go for it.
The character development is NILL in this movie. The only person that gives this movie any substance is Laurie Metcalf.
This movie was a total let-down and JUNK. All copies of it should be destroyed.
Black Panther (2018)
Ridiculous
First of all, I scrolled through at least 30 of the last reviews and none of them were higher than a 3. There's something fishy with the rating system here.
Secondly, I didn't make it further than a half hour into the movie. It's just simply one of the worst implausible, race-baiting movies out there.
Within 17 minutes, there are 2 allusions made to white men taking everything from Africans. Really? If this were the case in the movie, where were the Wakandans when Africans were selling off their own kind to the Europeans? For this movie to be plausible, they should make it a point that the Wakandans were complicit in the slave trade given their super advanced technology that could have stopped it at any time!
This movie is so bogus... Wakandans with alien technology 100s of years in advance to the rest of the world, but their still wearing animal-tooth necklaces and wielding spears?
And to top it all off, you see the Northern lights in central Africa!!
There is NOTHING realistic in the scenarios offered by the director or the producers for that matter. This movie was made to placate the African American population, just like when you see a black princess in a European fairy tale... just not historically accurate and does nothing to give value to the ACTUAL traditions of Africans! When will they realize that when Europeans do this, it denigrates African cultures as being primitive and destroys the integrity of European history! Repunzel wasn't black. Snow White wasn't black. And NO African tribal hero was ever white!
This movie is an insult to anyone with a brain! Pathetic
Krampus (2015)
Really, really bad.
Who thought this was a good way to spend money?!
I'm disappointed with Toni Colette for having stooped this low.
Please Stand By (2017)
Underwhelmed
This movie made me flatline. No ups, no downs... characters were unrelatable and were unable to convey emotion - and I can admittedly cry at a good movie. This left me with nothing - no better understanding of autism, of the struggles you might go through as the sibling with it or someone within the general entourage of such a person.
The best part of this movie was the dog.
The Void (2016)
C-R-A-P
Movie is totally unoriginal. Really bad acting and even worse dialogue. I love 80s horror. The only thing 80s about this movie is the director's and producers' naïveté that they could pull this off as an actual scary movie.
The Human Centipede is 1000 times scarier, so if you haven't seen it, opt for that one.
Into the Forest (2015)
Touching and realistic.
Although the movie seems to have a pro-life undertone, it was quite good. The movie portrays a close-enough-to-realist take on the post apocalyptic genre, without an actual apocalypse.
The movie relates emotions and the actresses did a great job.
Downsizing (2017)
Boring AF
Long, drawn-out, meaningless scenes. Thankfully I didn't go to the theater to see it, so I could fast forward through some of those scenes.
I absolutely hated this movie. The concept had potential but it turns out it's about some loser's midlife crisis. Unrelatable.
