Robin Hood (2018)

Bad Reviews are Trumpsters
25 January 2019
For the life of me i dont what exactly it is about this film people hate so much? Men especially hate it .All their excuses are absurd and say more about them than the movie. Its a decent movie, right off the bat.I'm a woman so maybe i appreciated the movie more than men because Robin Hood is not just a brut with a sword? I dont mind Jamie Foxx in this movie ..he is supposed to be Moorish in this film which isnt unheard of in actual crusader times. Its not politically correct its simply factual. Trumpsters abound on these review boards...Robin Hood is a good movie..great sound, atmosphere and acting. This snt my opinion its fact.See for yourtself unless you hate diversity and men who can be both manly and tough but gentle and loving.

Julia Roberts knocks it out of the park
14 February 2016
It took me a long time to get up the interest to watch The Secret in Their Eyes.I just figured it wouldn't be any good. But I also didn't realize has this all star cast. When i found out Julia Roberts,Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor were in it,I decided to watch it.I started out hesitating to believe it would be any good.It took me five minutes to get hooked.

Julia Roberts outright stunned me with her performance.I've always liked her but i've never seen her this intense. She devoured her character and spit it out with audacity.I felt for her every step of they way, feeling every emotion, understanding every nuance of her multi dimensional real world personality.

Nicole Kidman is as beautiful as ever, although I have always preferred Julia Roberts unique features.Kidman captivates with her solid yet somehow fragmented personality.she seemed not whole...some fire inside that died long ago.Its very clear why by the end.

Chiwetel Ejiofor is a favorite of mine anyways but his performance in this in my opinion puts him in the big leagues.

The ending is so awesome I will not ever forget it.I've never seen the original movie so i had no idea what to expect.I finished the movie with a feeling of great satisfaction. This is from someone who usually avoids cop movies .....if they all were this great id watch them more often.Best cop movie since Mystic River.

It must be End times because...
19 May 2015
Asylum made a great movie! Surely the end is nigh.OK ,lets begin this review. First,Asylum had somewhat of a larger budget than usual which really helps! The daughter was NOT a bratty slut who the audience hopes doesn't survive. She was maybe a little understated and had few lines but she was likable. The Mom/Seismologist.She was great! She WAS the movie. The acting by everyone involved was excellent. The elderly couple in the hotel were adorable and their story touching. The boyfriend was smart and real..not perfect but REAL and decent. The dialogue throughout the movie may have been standard at times but it was presented well and flowed. The action was super fun.Predictable at times but I found myself routing for the main characters. The special effects were above average for Asylum..no cheese in this movie. There was no prolonged drama queen scenes or soap opera like moments common in so many movies that end up with bad reviews. No wooden acting. No fake explosions. No dragged out "we don't believe you" scenes when the seismologist demands they take her seriously. Not a lot of stupidity in this one.I usually shut these kinds of movies off because of the stupidity.Sure the whole movie has been done before...but I watched it from beginning to end without getting frustrated once.In fact this movie beats out most SYFY channel movies I've seen in along time.I won't expect Asylum to always put out a watchable movie in the future..but I do think they are upping their own ante.Job well done!I give it 8 stars because I want to balance out all the bad reviews this one will get because its Asylum and called Andreas Quake.

The Drownsman (2014)

Comparable to The Descent
1 May 2015
The acting is excellent."Madison" has been in other horror movies and continues to impress me.She has a future in Hollywood. She will break out of horror B flicks and into mainstream soon.I couldn't help think of the Descent..the acting, the intense relationships and the spook factor. Its not as good as The Descent by any means but still most movies starring all women just are epic fails. The Drownsman keeps you interested from start to finish...no filler and no exploitation. If you appreciate good acting and a good storyline, even a bit original..give The Drownsman a watch. Its good entertainment. No cheese and no gimicks!Just nonstop spooky fun!

joke
10 July 2014
i should have known with the poster meant to attract 12 year old boys this one would be a dud.Just another dud.Bad acting, stupid plots, and predictable cliché same old same old.Really bad movie.Maybe if your super bored but even then there's better bad movies that aren't

adolescent garbage. Its a shame they don't make good movies anymore.So,anyways..my days going OK...my dog went for some nice long walks..so..what was I saying..oh yeah..really awful b movie unless they can be

classified as C ...my dog could have made a better more interesting movie.

unbelievably stupid
9 July 2014
seriously, why cant we get a decent scary movie made ever?Even the promotional poster is a rip off of The Blair Witch...sheesh.I've heard of the severed feet appearances in Canada, and this silly stupid movie simply exploits it for all(not much) its worth. As usual, the worst movie makers are the first to tell the story in their own unintelligent way. It shouldn't take a lot of money to make a good movie just good actors and a good script writer I guess they are impossible to come by anymore.I cant think of anything else to say about this typical garbage sorry excuse for a movie.I have to write ten lines but thats ridiculous and unfair.Ten words are enough for this "movie"

above average
4 July 2014
Here is a movie that was striving to be great but only managed to be slightly above average.Everything about this movie should have made for 10 star reviews. The cinematography was beautiful but not stunning...and i didn't even notice it till three quarters way through the movie. The acting was the biggest disappointment.None of the actors seemed like they really wanted to be there...being those characters, feeling those emotions. The lack of strong emotion is why this movie failed to be great. The plot ,without the appropriate emotions to drive it,became forgettable. The closer to the end,the better the movie was,yet it was too little ,too late.Still above average,i just wont see it again...

too bad
24 June 2014
i loved it until the first sighting of the creatures in the window.I think it was a creature anyways.I shut it off since i wsasnt scared and there was zero suspense left.Too many otherwise good movies get ruined by the "monster(s)" being silly.I always say-less is more..and the more left to the imagination the better.I wish film makers would work on suspense and mystery and atmosphere and stop ruining their movies by revealing the creature or monster or whatever it is too soon.Worse yet is they kill spookiness with lame obvious plot devices and scenarios.Oh well.Too bad.If you're interested in a movie but OK with little to no suspense or mystery or spookiness, then give it a try.

Outstanding
23 June 2014
I overlooked this movie for a long time, thinking it was a nonsense b movie.I'm glad I finally gave it a chance. To the point-the acting is excellent. The cinematography is classy. The script is engaging. The plot is mysterious yet simple. It is sad, terrifying, disturbing, nail biting and yet no tricks of bad movies were needed to keep me on the edge of my seat.I said "wow" at the end.And that is all I can think to say about this stunner.Wow.I have to add the actors, all of them, are top notch. The low rating doesn't surprise me.If you're looking for Friday the 13th or Freddy the New Nightmare-forget it.If you're looking for a powerful moving roller-coaster ride that leaves you at once breathless then sad.then thinking about it a lot....wanting to see it again just because....give this a shot. You won't regret it.

has Everything
26 May 2014
This movie has everything and does it all well.Melodramatic, heck yeah...and i loved every moment of it.Its hilarious how dramatic and emotional it is..everyones a hero in this movie. Was this movie fun to watch?Yes.I will watch it again. There was no bad acting. But it was one climactic emotional scene after another and that is what makes this movie unique and captivating.I can't who made this movie because it is really good.It isn't trying to be snakes on a plane or the Core. Its its own movie. It reminds me of the original airplane movies.Yet at times id swear I was watching a parody. This is what a movie for me should be.Fun,active, character driven and a tad bit over the top and silly. With mostly great special effects.I give it 9 stars to counter the unfair low scores.

Cult Classic
13 March 2014
This TCM;Next Generation is an accidental cult classic.I wasn't scared watching this movie, but finally figured out i'm not supposed to be horrified. It is subtly funny, and it is obvious Renee and Mathew and the others were trying not to burst out laughing half the time.It was a load of fun to watch. The actors were having too much fun to try to give Oscar performances and for that their performances are brilliant. This is Renee's best role. Not that she isn't a great actress in general...i just love her so much in this role. She is a young actress who seems like she is just having fun.Mathew is amazing..how on earth this movie gets such low scores is beyond me.Watch it...you'll love it.

The Edge (1997)
10/10
One of the most under-rated movies made
7 November 2013
I first saw this movie in 97 when it first came out.I had barely heard of Baldwin,Hopkins or Perrineau. It turned out to be one of those movies I sat on the "edge" of my seat and was stunned by the ending.I sat there, mouth agape.I found I had a deep respect for all three actors. This movie,in every discernible way,is a masterpiece. The cinematography is breathtaking. The musical score is one of the most beautiful themes I have ever heard. The plot is smooth and the acting superb.I had heard of Baldwin but had not thought he was a great actor until seeing The Edge.Hopkins has made some great movies but this one..well it my personal favorite. The subtleties are numerous, the suspense captivating and the message is profound. The bear is without a doubt frightening and primal. This movie evoked emotions in me that were also primal. And the ending? It is the best ending to any movie I have ever seen.Perhaps you might have to appreciate the complexities of human nature as well as the action sequences in The Edge to get the most out of the viewing experience. It truly is the best of both worlds.
