"I'll be back. I ALWAYS come back!"
7 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Well, just like Chucky said . . . He ALWAYS comes back! And this time, he's back and better than ever!

Although I've only been a fan of the "Child's Play" franchise for a short amount of time (since Seed came out) I still consider myself a hardcore fan. I love all of the movies equally, yes, even Seed. But after 9 long years without our favorite killer doll, I had almost given up hope that there would ever be another movie. But, low and behold, I just so happened to stumble upon a Chucky fan page on Facebook last year, that reported the news I've been longing to hear: A new Chucky movie would be coming out in 2013.

Well, here I am, a week after its released date, and I really just have to say, this movie is . . . AWESOME!!

No, really! Even after the cheesiness Seed of Chucky left behind, Curse goes back to its horror roots, just as Mancini promised us. The cast was amazing, especially Fiona Dourif, who plays the wheelchair bound Nica. Nica, to me, is such a great heroine character, and I'm not just saying that because I relate to her on a more personal level than most (I'm in a wheelchair too) but because she's actually a character you want to root for, and a character you feel sorry towards the end. But of course, and I've said this before in another Chucky movie review, Brad Dourif steals the spotlight as none other than Chucky himself.

This movie has a lot of great twist and turns, which I don't wanna reveal to you for the sake of ruining it. You'll just have to watch it for yourself. But trust me, if you're a Chucky fan like I am, you are bound to love it! (Just be sure to stay tuned after the credits, for a special surprise scene!)

The only thing that bugs me is that, why are some people giving this movie so much hate? Yes, I understand this movie has a few plot holes here and there, but what movie doesn't? And for those of you who call this movie drawn out and 'boring', I highly suggest you go watch the first "Child's Play" again!

Anyways, like I said, if you're a fan like I am, young or old, you will defiantly enjoy this film! I bet Universal is kicking themselves in the ass for not putting this movie in theaters. And Don Mancini, if you're reading this . . . We want more Chucky!!!!

Overall, I give this movie a 10/10!

Chucky's back bitches!

Did we watch the same movie, or am I just crazy?? Cause I LOVED it!!
5 May 2013
Okay, so I just watched this movie for the first time tonight, then afterwards I go here to look at the reviews and was shocked to see that nearly everyone has given it negative reviews......soo, that makes me wonder....did we all watch the same movie? Or am I just crazy?? Cause surprisingly, I loved it!

Maybe it's just because I'm younger (16) but I like this version way better than the original.....which is weird, cause I do love most older horror movies. But, I don't know, this one was just more interesting to me....I love how Rob Zombie showed Micheal's past in this film.....it just explains why he is who he is today and how he became known as the "boogeyman". Although, one thing that did confused me in the movie was why he wanted to go after his sister (who I actually thought was a baby boy at the beginning of the film). But anyways, Rob sure knows how to add just the right amount of suspense and gore into his films. Is it the best horror movie out there? No. But it sure is good....and I believe the people who gave this movie negative reviews needs to give it a second chance.

Overall, I give Rob Zombie's Halloween a solid 8

The best Chucky movie EVER!!!
25 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In this fifth installment of the "Child's Play" series, Chucky and Tiffany are resurrected by their long lost son, Glen. The killer couple also find out there's a movie being made about them, so they take their homicidal habits all over Hollywood.

Okay first off, you're probably wondering why I'm reviewing a movie that's nearly a decade old. Well, for two reasons: 1.) there's a new Chucky movie coming out this Halloween. And 2.) the Child's Play franchise has always been my favorite horror movie series.

Now, this is just my personal opinion, and I know a lot people actually hated this movie, but I think it's the best Chucky film ever! But before you make fun of me or think I'm crazy, let me explain why I love this movie.

I just love how this film is not really serious and how it's very comical. I know this is why most people hate it, but I mean, come on! How can a movie about a killer doll be "serious"? I also love Chucky's hilarious lines. I think I probably laughed thoroughly the entire movie...especially at that "A masturbating midget?" part! Haha!

Furthermore, Jennifer Tilly did a great job playing these two characters: Tiffany Ray and a parody character of herself. The other actors did a good job too, but as always, Brad Dourif's voice as Chucky steals the spotlight!

*WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!*

Another thing I enjoyed was how Don Mancini wrote the character of Glen. I thought it was very interesting to have him have two separate souls inside one doll body; Glen being the sweet, polite boy who took control of the body most of the time, and Glenda, Glen's violent alter-ego. And I like how at the end of the movie, these two souls each got their own bodies when they became human. (Human Glen is so cute!)

Here's what I didn't like about the film:

I do actually agree with most people; this movie was cheesy. They could've done a lot better creating this movie if they tried hard enough, but oh well. If they just had a few more scares and less cheesiness, then this would be the perfect movie.

But besides for the cheesy stuff, I really enjoyed this movie. It's always has and always will be my favorite out of the whole series, with Bride of Chucky coming in as a close second. Don Mancini sure knows how to blend the perfect mix of comedy and horror for a Horror/Comedy movie like this one.

Bottom line, if you're a TRUE Chucky fan, and can see past the film's flaws, you will love this movie!

Overall, I give Seed of Chucky a 9 out of 10. You'll be laughing the whole way through!

Orphan (2009)

'There's something wrong with Esther...' But there's hardly anything wrong with this great movie!
25 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Movie Review: Orphan (2009)

As the tag line says, something's defiantly wrong with Esther alright. When Kate and John Coleman decided to adopt sweet, adorable Esther, who seems like a perfect angel child, they soon realize something's very different about her when everything starts going wrong...deadly wrong!

*WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS!!*

I personally thought this movie was fantastic! In fact, it's actually one of my favorite horror/thriller movies. The plot, characters, and amazing actors are what defiantly made this movie superb in my opinion. Although yes, it does over do it with those cliché scares and the movie could've been shortened just a little bit, but besides that, it's amazing. Isabelle Furhman, who was actually 10 years old when this movie was made, did an outstanding job as Esther. Even if you didn't like this movie, you will love her performance as the creepy orphan girl. But wait, is Esther really just a little girl? Or is she something more?....

By far, the best part of this movie is the interesting twist; which makes the whole movie stand out among the rest. Warning! Do NOT read any further if you do not know Esther's "secret"!

When the twist of the movie came up, my jaw dropped. Like, whoa, she's really freakin 33 years old! Holy crap! I totally didn't see that coming! So, I applaud the writer and director of this movie for such a unique twist! I also enjoyed how they portrayed this part of the film with Esther crying at her dresser mirror while she slowly but surely reveals herself as Kate and the doctor are talking on the phone. It was just, perfect in my opinion and it just gets better from there!

Now, on to the things I didn't like about the movie:

Like I mentioned before, they could've done without those cliché scares, and I really think the movie was way too long, which made some parts of the movie boring and uninteresting. But, once you get to the good stuff and start to see Esther's true colors, then you forget all about the lagging moments. Also, the father was kinda annoying. I mean, I know you have to have some characters be oblivious, but John was just plain stupid for the most part. Although, I wouldn't blame the actor for this, cause he did a really good job. I just blame the writers.

But, if you're one of those horror fans that like unique plots or if you're just starting out in the horror genre, this movie's for you! It's not too scary, but it's not corny either.

Overall, I give Orphan an 8.5 out of 10. You won't be disappointed in this movie!
