Burn Notice (2007–2013)

The formula for a good show
15 January 2014
Here's what you do if you want to make a very good show. Take James Bond and dumb it down a couple of notches. Then take MacGyver and bring it up a couple of notches. What you have is Burn Notice. A winning formula to say the least. Is it the greatest show ever made?. No. Is it entertaining? Yes. The story is fun, the characters are likable and the entertainment is great. Not too mention that Bruce Campbell is in it (who i think is always awesome and has some of the best one liners in the history of TV). Its a hell of ride and has a good ending. I could not get enough and would put in one of the seasons DVD and watch 5-7 episodes in a row and it would definitely keep my interest. Good job BN team!

One of the best shows ever
17 September 2013
10 years after it was cancelled my buddy brought up the TV show firefly. I had never heard of it before and he said it was great and i said if it was great then why haven't i heard of it. He told me about the premature cancellation and nagged and nagged me to watch it and so finally i did. Just to make him happy i started watching it on Netflixs. I hate westerns and i am only a so so scifi fan. I was completely wrong. This show was great, arguably the best ever. The characters were real, the stories good and the dialogue was brilliant. The chemistry between the cast was as strong as it can get and i felt hanging and disgusted at Fox for their arrogance. To think that crappy shows can get 5 or 6 seasons while a great show like this can only get a half of one is quite frankly disgusting.

No matter what genre you like if you watch it with an open mind then you will also love it.

I am now and will always be a browncoat and i just bought serenity and am just about to watch it.

It was funny
23 July 2013
The maker went to Roswell new Mexico and explored all the local hype and attractions regarding the mecca of the alleged UFO crash of 1947 and i gotta say it was pretty good. The people he meets are sometimes completely off their rockers but are entertaining and he does approach the subject with impartiality and skepticism. Some of the experts they have on do make some good points and it looks like a great place to go to attend the annual UFO convention. Someday i hope i can go but not because i believe or don't believe in aliens but because i am sure i would have a blast. Everyone should check out this documentary cause it was fun to watch.

A special effects bore.
29 May 2013
A massive special effects bore that has no heart, soul or mind. Constant action are used a distraction so you won't realize that the screenplay is lame and your brain cells are actually dying. I have never seen a film in which fighting is used to "Kill time". Pun intended. Jack Black is OK but not such a great actor and Naomi Watts is also OK. I am really tired of CGI being used in place of a good screenplay and i think film has suffered greatly at the expense of technology. I was disappointed. So were the people i saw it with. I will never watch this remake again but i will watch the 30's film again for sure.

Just Meh!

Warning: Spoilers
Watching into darkness was like going to McDonalds. If you look at the menu board and you see a photo of what looks like a scrumptious burger and then they give the real one and its so/so, or like when you go to a bar and there are two tables one with a hot babe and one with a nerdy girl and you choose that hot babe and then she opens her mouth and proves shes an idiot and you think "Maybe i should have talked to the nerd" The movie was a blatant rip off of star trek 2, 3, and 6 and lacks any sort of original screenplay. The acting fails to leave any sort of emotional reaction and the secondary characters are almost completely ignored. The main characters are dull and are able to do superhuman things and when the story does come up with something new its just dumb, so dumb.

The special effects are incredible however and that's the only reason i didn't give it a 1 out of 10.

Avoid like the plague unless it comes out on Netflix cause thats the only way i will ever watch it again.

Love the show
22 September 2012
Just caught it on Netflix. I missed it when Brett Harrison is also great as Sam. it originally aired. Ray wise is absolutely brilliant as the devil. Sock is hilarious and he reminds me of buddy's i have had in the past. This is one of the rare gems that only comes along once in awhile. I hope it wraps up the story completely in the finale. I really like the scenes with sam and his buddies and I can completely relate to the character named Ted. Everyone who has ever worked for a living has had a boss like Ted before. I liked also that Sam's father even tried to cheat/mislead him. I can easily turn on one episode and watch and before you know it i have watched 4 or 5 episodes. Awesome show!
