Circus of the Dead (2014)
Every Once in Awhile you Come Across a Low Budget Gem, This is NOT one of Those Titles.
Awful, disjointed, illogical, poor production value, poor acting, terrible script, and trailer trashy. One of the absolute worst horror movies ever made.
I hope the distribution company imploded for saddling the rest of us with this stupidity.
This is what you get when you cross wannabe talentless hack filmmakers with easy access film tech.
Don't waste your time with this tripe garbage and horrible content. It's bad, just bad.
This movie would be entertaining and more intelligent if you play it in reverse at 2.5 x speed. ANYTHING different would help.
There's nothing here for you, if you have an active mind.
God Is a Bullet (2023)
Too Much.
The reviews noting that this is needlessly drawn out nail it. Really wanted to like this because I like the two leads. It has a lot of action sequences that were pretty good, albeit pretty far-fetched.
I read here that the movie was edited in Russia to cut out 26 minutes of the anti Christian overtones, and I feel like the Russians got to see a much better movie. Nick Cassavates you may be making your friends in LA happy with that crap, but most Americans don't need or want to hear it. You took what could have been a great movie and made it a preachy drawn out slog. In the end, it's a passable product. The overall rating here is a little higher than it deserves to be.
Black Adam (2022)
Could've been Great. Anon=Jar Jar Binks.
This film is like what George Lucas did to the last set of films he helmed in the Star Wars universe. It simply looses sight of what a great superhero film is. You could cut out the whole Kondeek story line and this would be a much different review, and a much more favorable review.
Frankly, I was hoping they'd drop the Anon character within the first 5 minutes of the movie. He is Black Adam's Jar Jar Binks. I would be surprised if anyone liked this character, including the movie makers.
The real highlights of the movie were the Justice Society. You like the characters, and again, Anon and Kondeek dragged down the rest of the movie.
Hawk man could carry a movie of his own, definitely the best cast member and character.
The Rock as Black Adam? He's simply the Rock playing Black Adam. Nowhere as convincing as the other superheroes. The Rock trying to portray a tough remorseless antihero just doesn't cut it.
All in all, this movie if okay. Nothing great here, and quite irritating with Anon and the Kondeek storyline.
The Perfection (2018)
Overrated and Goofily Outlandish.
It would be okay if a person suspends reality, common sense, logic, etc. Waste of 90 minutes of my life.
This movie tries so hard to be clever, but in the end, it's only successful if you dont engage your brain. If you think about things, it is an impossible stretch. As audience, you feel cheated, and that the filmmakers were simply too lazy to sell a logical script. The plot is so rife with gaps, you just can't enjoy it.
You really want to enjoy this movie, but it's "twists" are so silly you just can't make that leap.
This movie would make a lot more sense and reasonable if the hallucinations were REAL.
Nope (2022)
Love Jordan Peele Hate his Horror Movies.
Sadly, everything Peele does is overhyped and overrated. Nope follows the same losing formula.
For anyone thinking Peele's innovative and groundbreaking, you need only watch the old Twilight Zone and Tales from the Crypt. His story lines have all been done before, and far better.
The critics seem to love him because he takes these old and used story lines and puts a woke spin on them.
Virtually all of the cast are great actors, but it isn't enough to save the same thing we've all seen before. Sadly, Jordan's retelling can't stand on its own without the overt social and political messages that are so irritating and far too common in todays movies.
The Requin (2022)
Exquisitely bad. Never rooted for the shark before.
Hands down one of the worst movies ever made. But wait, why the 3 stars??? Easy, it was so awful that it became somewhat endearing. Stockholm syndrome? I don't know.
Hard to believe that either Silverstone or the director intended for this thing to be anything but a serious horror drama. But it is so awful at its core.
It also brought forth some significant emotions from me, mainly my empathy for Silverstone, who left me feeling really really bad for her, and wondering why???
Not sure where this thing leaves us. The movie is bad, but also tortuously and unintentionally hilarious.
If you watch it to be pulled into a great story, or genuine terror, there are far better choices, but if your looking for something to give you a good laugh , this thing might get you there. Enjoy!!!
Death Hunt (2022)
Goofy uninformed wokism
Really really awful. Goofy characters, B-roll of action scenes. Just bad.
All the bad guys fly confederate flags, the heroine can only hip fire and scores an instant kill everytime.
