Red Dog (2011)
Great story based on a real dog who will melt your heart.
A touching and emotional film that will melt your heart and have you in love with Red in seconds. This film demonstrates with the aide of a true story the love and loyalty dogs will show to people. This is a real feel good factor film. The scenery is not much to be praised about, however the charm and amazing emotions and thoughts flying through your head for this dog makes up for it ten fold. It portrays the power of mutual love for a creature that will force a otherwise turbulent community together and create a sense of duty towards it, in this case Red. He is indeed a dog to be jealous of but not one to be owned, he is a roaming nomadic dog and fighter. Any animal lover must watch this film and ride the emotional roller coaster it throws at you.
Paperback Hero (1999)
Australia's most unusual Truck driver takes you on his own roller coaster journey
A very Australian film full of beautiful scenery and a equally beautiful plot with a twist that keeps you guessing whats next and on the edge of your seat. You forget its a film and feel your there in the dusty sands of Australia, wanting to stick your hand out and help the plot along, or maybe even alter it and rewrite this film of love passion and the battle of stereotypes; but before you do be patient. Hugh Jackman gives the performance of his career yet, full of charisma and obviously at home in the role, in this feel good factor film that will have you finishing the film feeling on top of the world and a thousand feet taller. This is yet again another great Australian film that you will never forget or cease to watch.
Scent of a Woman (1992)
A story of anger, frustration but love as well
A film that is packed with emotion ranging from anger and disgust to pity and love. It thrives on the incredible acting of Al Pacino and the newly found Chris O'Donnell. This film is guaranteed to play with your emotions and have you sit up and perch on the edge of your sofa from beginning to end of the film. You may try and guess whats coming next but around each and every corner is a new twist and emotion thrown out at you catching you unawares but pleasantly surprised. Colonel Slade is a forceful and distasteful yet curiously lovable character, whether it be a emotion forced upon you through pity and relief he isn't you, you cant help but watch on and see if you a harsh critic or whether your instincts are true and justly felt. Either way this is a film not to be missed! A masterpiece indeed.
