Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Outstanding CGI, but Storyline was Predictable
As expected by the budget and length to produce the CGI effects were wonderful, but I wish they had spent more time in the story / character development. The movie turns out to be a three hour long showcase of what a team can do with current technology. But after you get past the visual effects, the story gets stale and you begin to lose interest in the characters. There appeared to be a lot of B-roll that simply was not important in the story telling. The film began to lose the audience attention roughly halfway through and I noticed quite a few people getting up to use the washroom. The character development was limited also to a person's perception of the dialogue, you never really feel emotionally attached. I saw the movie in 3D and would recommend that format, but that is the only recommendation I can make for this film.
The Curse of Oak Island (2014)
Been Watching For A Long Time
I honestly believe that I have been watching this show since it first appeared on the History channel. At first I was very intrigued, I was always hoping that something would appear in the episode that made me excited for the next week's showing and many times it did. But now after nearly six years of watching and seeing the same recycled content and hearing the irritating announcer's overly dramatic dialog, I'm quickly losing interest. The editing is creative enough to make you believe that you are seeing new footage and discoveries, but if you pay attention it's a lot of repetitive material. Just like Al Capone's Vault, they may never find anything, but keeping viewers interested year-after-year should be considered a major accomplishment, if not a miracle.
Cari & Jemele (won't) Stick to Sports (2020)
Horrible - Exactly What I Expected
Bring two individuals that were too woke for ESPN together, let them use racism as the main topic and you get exactly what you would expect. It's unfortunate, this could have been a stepping stone forward in open conversations, but as usual (VICETV sponsored) it became two steps back. If you don't agree with these two, then you are on the wrong-side of society based on their opinion. Don't waste your time, unless you like to be told how awful you are.
