My Name Is 'A' by Anonymous (2012)
It's so close to real life. Now watching
If you've seen director Shane Ryan's earlier work then you'll know what you're in for, and also see how he expands his origins of handling found footage films. If you haven't seen his earlier stuff and are expecting some mainstream crime thriller or a Lifetime show, then you'll either be greatly disappointed with its hard-hitting realism, or pleasantly surprised (while also being left enormously depressed).
Keep in mind, Ryan's work will never have a laughing moment, or a time when it seems like things "might be okay." They start off seriously ill, and the sickness only worsens until it eats away your entire body, mind, and soul. His films are not for the faint-of-heart, but also not for those seeking sex, gore or cheap thrills. There's something very deep and meaningful underlying all of this. He never glamorizes murder, but seems oddly fascinated by its evil. So fascinated, in fact, that everything always feels so very real. In a sense where you feel part of this may have had to be lived or experienced by the filmmaker. It's so close to real life (without ever feeling like some "Reality" Show) in a way neither Hollywood or even Independent cinema ever seem to capture.
Never Change (2013)
Actually quite liked it
Never Change isn't too bad a film .
Again it suffers from the general quality struggles of low budget films..
But the mainly story in this is really pushed out and it's a very..
Effective film in a sense that it gets the audience concentrating and..
Its telling..
The story of a troubled young man which Matthew plays rather well.
The rest of the supporting cast is just as good.
I enjoyed watching this film and I would definitely watch it again. Watch it.
Unhealthy Intentions (2013)
Not a bad short
Very touching story laid out in Unhealthy Intentions.
Not a lot of short films really grasp the damage that drug dealing and taking do and
I have to give credit to the young man in this film who carries his role and the audience is able to feel his pain at low points and also his hype at the more upper points - obviously as a low budget film they still suffered the awkward shots and lack of continuity and some poorly placed props but all in all its not a bad film.
Go watching it!
You won't be disappointed.
Dark Moon Rising (2015)
Finally werewolves done right !
I was expecting the run of the mill horror story revolving a new guy in town and people with beards who are clearly werewolves and yet I'm supposed to be surprised later. Not here, this reminded me a lot of my favorite show teen wolf and I loved it. It was well shot and acted and when you think you know what's going to happen it throws you for a loop.
Pros: acting and directing is top notch and I love Henrick. Wardrobe was big budget quality Cons: a clear setup for the sequels to follow, wanted to see more of the WOLFPACK Would definitely recommend it was a joy to watch, refreshing!
Helicopter Mom (2014)
I Loved This Movie
I don't know why people are rating this movie so badly.
The only reason that people rate movies with 1 or 2 stars is because it made them feel something, WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT! Just because you didn't like it doesn't make it a bad movie! We have all experienced the things this movie talks about: acceptance, love, family, relationships, personal identity. The lead character has to struggle with discovering who he is while juggling college applications, high school drama and worst of all, a neurotic and obsessive mom.
It's definitely worth checking out.
I really liked it.
