I knew of this movie for, like, ever, and it never registered with me as something I would want to watch... until I watched it!
First off - TRAINS! Love that it begins in a Lionel hobby shop and that the underlying thread is the world of "Trainspotting" (not the Ewan MacGregor movie) - fans of trains, model trains, etc. I've always been one, this part of the movie pulled me in.
Second is just his incredible character study of these three people in rural New Jersey; watching the relationship ebb and grow from isolation and solitude to a complex interconnection.
"The Station Agent" was just a very pleasant movie from beginning to end!
