Chloe (2022)
This series is deceiving just like Becky Green, don't give up, the ending is fine!
This series starts of as a tale about social media and an unlikable imposter but unfolds as a murder mystery/phycological thriller that goes much deeper. I don't want to give away too much cause I hate spoilers but I found it fresh, well acted and well produced. The first 2-3 episodes were slow but after that it does pick up, by the last episode I was glued to the screen so do give it a chance!
The Purge (2018)
Pleasantly surprised!
I was pleasantly surpised by this show, it was nothing like I expected. A lot less gory and with more substance than I thought it would be. What would you do If you had the right to purge? Would you kill your business rival, your bad neighbour or your lover's partner? Just because something is legal does it make right or just? Who and why makes the rules? On a night that all crime is legal would you stay safe at home, purge on strangers or help out those who are vulnerable? This show puts on the spotlight gender, class and race issues though keeps it light all the way. I didn't mind that sometimes it felt comical because it is kind of a satire. The plot and the acting was ok and the only thing that really bothered me was the editing, it was very patchy and abrupt sometimes and I didn't get enough suspense for a horror show. I expect that the second season, If there is one, will improve.
Thelma & Louise (1991)
Point proved!
All the hate that I came across reading the boards and the reviews absolutely justifies the reason of existence this movie. This movie might be a feminist movie but in no way it is sexist against men. Not all male characters are portrayed badly except for the rapist, the husband and the truck driver and I have totally seen these guys around! Louise's boyfriend and the police officer are descent character's and Brand Pitt's character is definitely charming and at least he has manners. And to all those saying that if the leads were male the movie would be sexist I only will ask them one question, are males being raped and abused every day? Cause women are and this is the whole point of this movie. How neglected women are in our society and how this is driving them to a dead end! And If you really can't see the sexism against women in our society then you must be blind. Just read the hate comments across the boards and the reviews and you will be enlightened. Women must always look good and be ready to pleasure men, they must always obey and If they want to have fun they are w****s and they must be punished for that or at least that's what many seem to believe! Do women go to the boards of every stupid sexist movie that comes out and moan about it being misogynistic? No, it's only males that passionately throw hatred at every single feminist thing. When any woman stands up to sexist behaviour from men, wants to be independent and doesn't center her life around pleasing men she is immediately called a man hater, feminazi, lesbian and many more. I'm so sick of this! Good news is that the majority recognizes this film but there is still a lot of work to be done for misogyny to be extinct. And nobody said that their actions are right, they are just trapped in this situation and you can see their despair and lack of options and trust me this is how many women feel in real life and that's why this film is such a genius!
