The Rookie: Real Crime (2022)
Qanon in the house.
The moment I realized they were going to talk about the deranged Qanon people I knew the comments and ratings would be ranked by them. Viola!!! A very good episode, solid story, very enjoyable. The format is a bit unusual but takes it like like Dragnet or Adam 12. A worthy entry into the series.
Star Trek: Picard: Mercy (2022)
So very Star Trek.
Such a great episode! All and everything of TOS, TNG, and it was wonderful! Definitely one of the best episodes for a true Star Trek fan. Picard, Quinan, Q, Soong, all wrapped up in a great story about humanity.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Perception (2022)
Ignore the white supremacists.
They've come out of the woodwork because this episode has a common, horrible incident in it that all too many people of color go through. They think it's all "fake news" and can't accept the truth. It was done well in the episode and the primary story was excellent. Keep going guys!
Doctor Who: Eve of the Daleks (2022)
A really good Dalek sorry!
This has some nice twists and turns but this story has Daleks which are always fun! The main storyline actually isn't about our intrepid group as much as the guests, which is a nice addition to the overall story. Well worth watching!
Doctor Who: Legend of the Sea Devils (2022)
Great fun!
A classic style episode with a classic villain! But we have pirates too! The Doctor had a conundrum as usual, but had some fun getting thru it, and some interesting twists. Ignore the manbabies, it's a fun romp!
Star Trek: Discovery: The Galactic Barrier (2022)
Classic Trek in story and characters.
This episode had a true class Trek feel. It took us into a new place, showed us character conflicts, and brought about a wonderful story.
As for "senior Trekker" and the others, it's clear from their comments they are not Star Trek fans, are misogynists and bigots, and are spamming the two new shows to bring scores down. The "manbabies" need to just go away and let fans enjoy their shows.
Star Trek: Discovery: ...But to Connect (2021)
True Star Trek.
I really wish all the manbabies would go away already, they are the same people who bellyached about Picard being too talky and just want blasters and Klingons. It's clear they never understood Star Trek at all. This is what it was all about, new life, new ideas, cooperation, exploration! An excellent episode that would make Gene Roddenberry proud. Discovery is doing a great job.
Star Trek: Discovery: Stormy Weather (2021)
Ignore the haters.
The series is excellent! It has the true depth of Star Trek always pushing the human condition, exploring new things and new ideas. To many whiners are furious about a young Black woman doing exactly what Captain Kirk did...saving the day! The crew, computer, all work together to try to solve the riddle of the void and it's handled as well as other Trek shows. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
My Spy (2020)
A fun movie.
If you like Vin Diesel's "The Pacifier" you'll enjoy this one. Similar premise but different enough to have a lot of laughs with. It's got some Easter eggs for movie fans in it as well. The family loved it.
NCIS: Los Angeles: A Land of Wolves (2022)
Those using the word "woke" are the story.
You can tell what an excellent episode it was by the people crying "woke", because they are who the episode was about and what's wrong in the country. An excellent story about white fanatics who believe conspiracy theories and lies, hate people who are different, and are a danger to all, and the victims of their hatred.
Star Trek: Discovery: All Is Possible (2021)
Excellent episode.
The comments from the misogynists and bigots are typical and expected. It was a well done story and the hatred of Tilly by sad, pathetic little men shows what a strong character she is. The story was classic Trek, a true look at people and their lives. More please, ignore the deranged haters.
Shetland: Episode #4.6 (2018)
Damn it.
I gave it a 5/10 as the ending was just damn horrible. Wallender has better endings to stories than this. It had such hope, such a strong message of justice, and ripped it away completely. Now all those who cheated, lied, coerced, and deceived for 23 years and after get away with it with no repercussions.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Indentured (2021)
Nor for White Supremacists
As usual NCIS:LA nails the social situations of current events. Showing how the right wing are terrorists in their thoughts and actions, proven on January 6th. An entire generation fought against the very people that this show exposed as part of our national problem, those who go against everything this nation was built on for their own violent, bigoted, narcissistic ends.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Fukushu (2021)
White Supremacists clearly hate this one.
An excellent episode showing the rarely talked about hate crimes against Asians. As the comments show something addressing racism, hatred, bigotry, or misogyny strikes deeply into those who are supporting and/or committing the very acts portrayed and discussed. Keep up the good work NCIS:LA writers and producers, your message is too important to not be spread far and wide!
The Rookie: Life and Death (2021)
Heck of an opening.
Rough episode, but good action. Yes it goes over the top in what cops can do, but still is strong in story and finishing a storyline. And the ending was very well done.
Barney Miller: Heat Wave (1975)
Looking at it through historic eyes.
Too many are upset and picking apart how the episode is based on hindsight decades later. Back in the 1970s domestic violence was (and sadly too many times even now) ignored and not even discussed. The fact Barney Miller took it on was a huge thing for primetime television. But even more incredible was that it was discussed as the victim being conflicted and how hard it is for them. And even more unbelievable in that day and age is SHE PRESSED CHARGES! That was an incredibly brave thing to do in an age of pretty much unfettered male dominance and suppression of such violence.
As for the rapist, again hindsight isn't what defines it. To talk about rape was very rare. To show cops going after rapists even more so. As for Wentworh it was about her knowing what the rapist is looking for and asserting herself as a woman who gets it and is determined to get him.
An excellent episode that went above and beyond the usual TV of the time.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
Ignore the manbabies, it's great!
I grew up with He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. I enjoyed it even if it had some stilted dialogue, repetitive actions, and morality endings. This new one? It's what a grown up version is and yet kids today can enjoy it. It's got strong characters, a solid story, and visually is well done. It's darker in some places for sure, but still excellent.
The manbabies crying over it either don't really remember the original, hate that it's only Masters of the Universe (sans He-Man in the title), or are misogynists. They bomb review sites skewing stats to force things their way. Ignore them, enjoy a wonderful series that honors the original and is fun on its own.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Like the old Han Solo Trilogy novels.
Ignore the haters and faux Star Wars "fans." This is an excellent film that has the thrills and feel of the old Brian Daley Han Solo Trilogy and even a hint of the Lando Calrissian novels (played brilliantly in the film). It has adventure, story, action, fan service, and excellent characters. Here's hoping Disney listens to the actual fans and makes sequels either in film or on Disney+!
The Rookie (2018)
Outstanding series.
A wonderful series that does a good job of showing the complexities of society, it's problems, people, and the everyday complicated lives of the police. Officers who risk their lives and have to contend with problems inside and outside their ranks. Even in the comments you can see how White supremacists have jumped all over trying to trash the series for its realistic look at our mixed society and it's problems, not liking how they're portrayed. Here's hoping the series goes on for a long time!
The Rookie: Revelations (2021)
Ignore bigots and Incels.
It's clear the Rookie is being targeted by the same people who go social media hopping to spread their hatred and ignorance of anything they don't approve of. They use words like "woke" and "snowflakes" exposing what they are, which is basically hating everything an all inclusive nation like the USA should be. The Rookie has nailed what our society is struggling with so ignore them and enjoy the series and voice your support.
