Gacy: Serial Killer Next Door (2024)
I couldn't give it a one.
This movie was so perniciously bad that it was almost comical. In fact, there were some scenes so preposterous that I had to. The kid sees Gacy strangle someone to death and then can't decide if he should contact the police. His parents initially think he's imagining it all. The guy who plays Gacy is so creepy, no one in his right mind would get in a car with him. Gacy lived in a ranch, not a 2 story. The acting was to a person atrocious. (Bobby's mother looked like she was on crack). I don't believe a family engineered Gacys capture. All in all, a horrific piece of cinema, however so comically bad, I couldn't give it just one star.
The Gilded Age (2022)
Don't listen to the nay sayers
The people giving this series a bad review obviously don't know what they're taking about. Excellently crafted and the entire cast shines. I binge watched it in two days.
Spencer (2021)
Whisper whisper whisper
I enjoyed everything except for Diana. First of all, I could barely understand her because all she did was whisper. Secondly I found her character to be extremely unsympathetic. Not at all the movie that I had expected from all the hype. The Queen made several years ago with Helen Mirren in the lead role was a far superior movie about the British royal family.
Tell Me a Story (2018)
Superb
Anyone who gave this less than a 7 needs to have their head examined. Great plot twists and excellent acting. It kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
The Death & Life of John F. Donovan (2018)
Haunting and superbly done
Anyone who rates this movie less than an 8 obviously has no appreciation for a beautifully crafted film. The story line was both ingenious and heartbreaking. The acting by all was superb. I've just recently become aware of Xavier Dolan, but hecis already a great film maker. Bravo!
Terms of Endearment (1983)
Ignore the naysayers
Anyone who gave this movie a low rating must be without human emotion. Well written, well acted. A gem!
Downsizing (2017)
Don't pay attention to the critics
I hesitated to watch this movie because it was panned by the critics. I was pleasantly surprised and found it to be a good watch. Matt Damon always turns in a good performance as did the rest of the cast. The premise was interesting and well done, as was the story of his development as a human being. Once again, who cares what the critics think.
