Children of Men (2006)
Cinema and Violence in a great Way
I love the language of violence and the timing in this movie. A huge theatrical play with post-reality-genetics-science-fiction and a expectable future in "Avalon" Britain. The end of the world is an almost near present, the 60s values are lost, the hope on the 90s technology is gone, the world is a huge 00s terrorist war field. Imigration became a plague and the air is caring "condom" virus. Everything is collapsing but someone is making a documentary on this events... The last baby is borning. The longest continuous scene of the modern days (15 minutes) reborn cinema too. Inside a dark futuristic political message there's a light for what we are going to see in cinema. More and more reality.
Lua Vermelha (2010)
Lua Vermelha, Ratings and Vampires
Lua Vermelha is a good show with poor ratings. Television is an unfair business. I really think that with other time table SIC television would enlarge the viewers spectrum. It will be difficult but not impossible. This is a young people show, if it go on air after the conventional soap operas ratings will collapse, because older people don't like this. SIC main channel is making lots of mistakes and losing a thousand viewers per day. Ironic... They are "vampiring" themselves with childish errors. To much commercials during the premium timetable and many other wrong decisions from the direction board. It was an excellent channel. Was... Usually Vampires stories are "money in the pocket" but not this "time" ... Abraço Matias.
Stargate Universe (2009)
Stargate Universe is mind blowing
Stargate Universe is mind blowing. A dark mix of Startrek, X-files, Desperate House Wifes, The Office, Stargate Atlantis, Elite Squad (the Brazilian movie), Metabarons (Heavy Metal style comics) and 1984 (Orwell book) in a lost space/universe ship running to nowhere. Lots of stress fear and intellectual/pedant attitude. Lack of leadership, violent military psychosis and no defined enemies. This is the ultimate TV series, well its more like a very long movie. Great actors with a fantastic script and huge sound/music effects. I understand the anger from the "classical" Stargate fans, but lets face it, this is art (theres no room for plastic nerds or military heroes preconceptions) One more time, Mind Blowing. Smells like Emmys.
