Together Together (2021)
Well written and acted dialog between Anna and Matt
My wife and really enjoyed this movie except for the ending. We thought the writer and director should have finished their interpretation of how they ended up. I thought they were on their way to live together but we'll never find out.
The exchanges between Matt and Anna are very enjoyable and at times, witty and humorous. You get the sense they truly we're changing given the chemistry unfolding.
I don't understand why so many movies have to make religion a bad thing or why it doesn't depict it, especially Christianity in the US, as a good thing. There are millions of Christians who are kind, loving and helpful to those in need. Why is this lost today in film?
Dana Carvey: Straight White Male, 60 (2016)
Some funny skits then sacrilegious, banal material
The good: Trump skits, Irish pilot, Rome travels (without the need for his crude language)
The bad: pretty much everything else
Dana is so talented but unfortunately chooses some material and jokes that frankly completely miss the mark. His rant and description as a Lutheran is just so far off. He's projecting his own faith and therefore flops on this skit big time. It's so bad that he's one of the few laughing at his own joke. He also tends to hang on to some crude jokes that again fall flat without any humorous content. It leaves the viewer shaking their head. I hope Dana if he continues to do standup, take a deep look inside and emerge with cleaner, non sacrilegious material. A lost sheep in his 60s.
Howards End (2017)
Good actors can't save a train wreck of a story
By the end of the series, I questioned the behavior and actions of all the characters. A depressing story to say the least. Promising beginning soon turns into head turning story twists that leave the viewer asking, "Why?". I do not recommend this series. I must say, the acting was excellent.
Home Fires (2015)
Many stories within a story...why no season 3???
This is well worth watching. Excellent acting and moving stories. Please bring back this series. Travesty the way it ended without closure for so many stories.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Deeply cynical, sacrilegious & fueling division in US
I enjoyed the part up to the first meeting with the president and then the plot and writing disintegrated. Mocking politicians that can be ignorant is one thing but hatefulness and extreme stereotyping people crosses the line. I thought when Michelle Obama said, "When they go low, we stay high!" I admired that quote. You, cast and crew, went into dark depths on this movie. Mocking Christians, prayers including jabs at praying to Jesus was unjustified and blasphemous. The affair? Why? He seemed like he was one of the good guys. But I guess there were no limits nor was there any sense of your course in humor. A jumbled mess. Avoid this one.
Downton Abbey (2010)
Excellent storytelling, acting and Christian morals shining through
It's refreshing to watch a series in which people treat others as they wish to be treated. Yes, there's plenty of harsh behavior committed by characters along the way, but true love wins in the end.
There are Christian undertones throughout this series that are so refreshing given the fallen nature of humans.
The English Game (2020)
Rich + Poor + Football = Entertaining Drama
For Downton Abbey and Soccer (Football) fans alike. Highly recommended. I hope for a season two. Excellent acting and stories.
Amazing Stories (2020)
First episode was fantastic! 👍👍
The plot and actors are superb! I highly recommend this series. I'm looking forward to the next episodes. Creative, imaginative, moving, suspenseful, heartbreaking.
The Upside (2017)
Truly inspirational!
A real relationship between two people with very different problems who find each other's friendship the key to happiness.
One of the best movies I've seen a long time. Highly recommend. Great acting by all.
