The Fall Guy: Scavenger Hunt (1982)
Season 1, Episode 22
10/10
Howie gets to play more of the lead in this excellent episode
25 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have always been a big fan of The Fall Guy and cannot believe that in 2023 we still do not have a complete series release on DVD or Blu Ray. Season 1 was released years ago and Season 2 was released in the UK. This great episode features Howie getting into the middle of trying to find 5 million dollars. He meets Joe Edwards(Doug Mcclure) in jail and his daughter(Heather Locklear). He ends up helping him and trying to find 5 million dollars. Several old navy buddies (Terry Carter, Gary Lockwood, Christopher Stone & Stephen Shortridge) are also looking for the money. Colt gets involved to help. They go the San Diego to find a Rose Butterworth. She is supposed to have the money. They all arrive and find out it's a brothel that Rose was running. She is not around anymore and they can't find the money. Howie solves the mystery and finds out that all of the furniture and the decorations are worth the 5 million dollars.

Ironside: Riddle at 24,000 (1974)
Season 7, Episode 22
10/10
Desi Arnaz is just plain wonderful in this episode
21 August 2023
I am a huge fan of Desi Arnaz. I always enjoyed his chemistry with William Frawley on I Love Lucy. They were so good together. After watching this episode with Desi Arnaz and Raymond Burr working together, they made me feel the same way. They had great chemistry together. The other 2 reviews also mentioned how good he is on this show. Ironside only lasted 1 more season after this, and it was a shortened season because of the ratings. I agree that it would have been nice to see Desi make another guest shot before the series went off. But this episode alone will give me a lot of fond memories. I believe this episode ranks at the top for the entire series. Overall, Ironside is a very solid show. It had it's weak moments when it got political or tried to make you sympathize with the criminal, but overall most of the episodes are a real treat.

A Real tribute to "The Old Man" and the original film
6 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I rarely watch films that are made today because they are offensive in so many ways and not entertaining. They are more interested in pushing their political views instead of entertaining the viewer.

I was so happy last night when I finally watched A Christmas Story Christmas. This film was nearly as good as the original. And I watch the classic original film every Christmas.

This film moves forward from the 1940's of the original to 1973. Ralphie is married and has 2 kids. He gets a call that his "Old Man has passed away and it it a few days before Christmas. The family heads home to be with his mom. Mom is played by Julie Hagerty(Airplane) and she really fills in nicely for Melinda Dillon who had retired years ago.

Ralphie promises his mom to make an entertaining Christmas for everyone and not be sad about the "Old Man" passing. She tells him that's how the "Old Man" would want it. This film benefits greatly from Ralphie doing a lot of commentary for this as story like in the original. John Shepherd, I believe, did the commentary in the original.

The film brings back all of the original kids from the film. Ralphie's brother gets a few scenes at the beginning and then at the end. His 2 friends from the first film get a lot of screen time and fit in just like no time has passed.

There are so many nods to the original film and make this movie what it is and makes the viewer happy to see the movie pay tribute to the original film. There are a lot of things in the scene in the attic from the original film that I loved seeing( Lamp Shade, Bunny Outfit, his Red Ryder Air gun, bowling ball, ect..).

Probably my favorite scene was later in the film where Ralphie is caught stealing a star from the bar. The police officer is his old rival Scut Farkus. He takes him for a drive and ends up taking him home, letting him go and thanking him for turning his life around and points out he is now one of the good guys. His kids, are the bullies in the movie who destroy things with their snowmobile.

I also loved the scene where the drunks from the bar go sledding. You will be laughing out loud. It was also funny when all of Ralphie's family have funny accidents. There was a scene near the end where the presents for the kids were stolen and on Christmas day the mom found out "The Old Man" had already bought all the presents the kids wanted and had them hidden in the house. That was a wonderful moment in this film. Very touching and well done.

The other major part of the story in this film is Ralphie's failure as a writer. He has been turned down by everyone. He was given the job to write the obituary for his "Old Man" and struggled. Finally he just wrote a tribute that was about four pages long. His wife ended up turning it in to the paper and it made the front page. Ralphie was offered a job at the paper and the movie ends with Ralphie reading the article.

Like I said in my heading above, this film was a tribute to Ralphie's "Old Man" who was played by the late great Darren Mcgavin. I had no idea what the film was about before I watched it and after viewing it, I really think they made the best film they could after almost 40 years. The only negative I could give this film would be the occasional use of profanity. Just like the original had some occasional profanity. But that's it. This was a great film and will be viewed by myself every Christmas!

Magic Mongo (1977–1978)
7/10
Magic Mongo is a decent show from Sid & Marty Kroft
3 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't remember watching this show when it originally aired. I do remember most of the other Kroft shows at the time. It is a show about a guy and 2 girls who hang out on the beach and get into trouble with 2 bikers. Mongo is a Genie they find in a bottle on the beach. He helps get them out of trouble and into trouble and it all leads to some funny moments. The reason I was interested in the show is because Robin Dearden is one of the leads. She appears in a red bikini in roughly half of the shows. I have seen Robin Dearden in a lot of great tv shows over the years. She was in Magnum P. I. & T. J. Hooker to name a few.

One of the best musicals ever made!
25 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Singin in the Rain is a great film that never gets old. I am a big fan of Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor. They are great in this film. Jean Hagen puts in the performance of a lifetime. The movie has a lot of funny moments as well. Every song in the film is great. "MAKE EM LAUGH", "GOOD MORNING" AND "SINGING IN THE RAIN" are my favorites. And Debbie looks so cute in her costume when she sings "All I Do is Dream of You". Another favorite song of mine. The only 2 thing I don't like is the song where they dub Debbie's voice. For what? She has a wonderful voice and she actually recorded the song that they dubbed her in the movie. Also, the part where Gene Kelly has the dream sequence with Cyd Charrise and the other stuff drag the pace of the film. However, the entire film overall is a classic.

Donny and Marie (1975–1979)
9/10
A great show because of Donny & Marie's chemistry and the skits were funny too!
14 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I had not seen an episode of Donny & Marie since I was a kid. I had seen some clips. I have been watching some of the shows and for the most part they are really good, entertaining and funny. The parts I love the most are when Donny & Marie have fun by poking fun at each other. Also most of the skits are quite funny. Semi regulars Paul Lynde and Ruth Buzzi are also a great addition to the show. The many guest stars are top notch entertainers from the 60's and 70's. There are also segments that have Donny singing solo or Marie singing solo. Most of them are quite good. There are also segments where Marie sings country and Donny sings Rock. Sometimes the rock songs are not that great and a little crazy. The country songs are usually really good. A lot of the show has a disco look and sound to it which is fine with me, I like Disco. The songs performed by the Osmond brothers are my least favorite. They are little over the top and not that good. The same can be said with Jimmy Osmond segments. They are a little over done. I hate saying that because I really believe the whole Osmond family are really good, decent people.

Highway Patrol (1955–1959)
10/10
Broderick Crawford makes this show great!
24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I had never seen a Highway Patrol episode in my life until about a month ago. I bought the whole series. ZIV had produced a lot of shows during that time that I love. I led 3 Lives, Tombsstone Territory, Sea Hunt, Ripcord, Waterfront, Everglades, Boston Blackie, Harbor Command & Bold Venture were a great list of programs I really enjoy from ZIV. So when I started enjoying watching Highway Patrol, I was not surprised. Broderick Crawford is remembered for this show because he is so good in it. He takes command of each show and makes you believe he is a Highway Patrol worker. This show like many other ZIV shows were filmed on the streets of Los Angeles. Also many of the actors on the show, I have never seen in anything else. They must be local actors who never made it big. The other familiar face on the show would be William Boyett. He played "Mac" on Adam-12 for 7 years. He plays one of the revolving Highway Patrol officers on the show. This show reminds me of a cross between Dragnet of the 50's and The FBI from the 60's and 70's. It has sort of a semi-documentary feel too it. I highly recommend purchasing this show. It is well done and much better than the offensive stuff on tv today.

This show reminded me how vulgar and crude tv shows have become
17 October 2022
I tried this show out because I liked Madison Iseman. What I got was a depiction of a group of people who lived the most disgusting lifestyles I have ever seen on a tv show. I cannot believe anyone could sit thru this filth and call it entertaining or say they enjoy it. Everything they talked about was sexual and very explicit. All they seemed to do is party. Drinking, drugs smoking and sex. I grew up in the 80's when there were still good shows that the entire family could watch. It scares me a little when I try to figure out who exactly they were trying to get to watch a show like this. I am assuming teenagers, or people in their 20's. I cannot remember ever watching any show and thinkng to myself, there is not one person in the entire cast that I would like to have as a friend. No morals from anyone in the cast.

Crazy Like a Fox (1984–1986)
10/10
A great show that should have lasted 5 years
2 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Crazy Like a Fox was one of the last great shows of the 1980's. It starred Jack Warden as "Harry Fox" and John Rubinstein as his son "Harrison Fox". The takes place in San Francisco and there are a lot of scenes that take place outside to show off the beautiful location. Harry plays a detective who always gets into trouble. He ends up always getting his son Harrison, who is a lawyer, into helping him on his cases. He ends up getting shot at and running for his life from criminals and cars chasing him. Jack Warden and John Rubinstein have that chemistry together that makes the show work. Penny Peyser plays Harrison's wife and Robbie Kiger plays their son. This show blends action and comedy together beautifully. The show ranked #10 among all other networks show in the 1984-85 season. Then the network moved the show up against Dynasty, the number 1 show at the time and the ratings dropped and they were cancelled after their second season. It's a shame, the could have gone another 2 or 3 years.

The only reason to see this film is to see Marisol in a bikini and two see thru outfits.
26 August 2022
I bought this film because of the cast. Jean Seberg from Airport. Barry Stokes from an episode of Space:1999. And the beautiful Marisol in probably the only film she did in english. I did not really care for this film. I'm not sure I really understood the ending. Very strange. Marisol is absolutely beautiful in this film. She wears a tink white bikini in one scene, a see thru white top in another scene, and finally a see thru nightie where she is only wearing panties. Very nice to look at. However, she is really the only bright spot because of her sexy attire.

Gale Storm and the cast make this a classic show.
19 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I recently discovered Gale Storm a few years ago. I have tried to collect her "My Little Margie" series and "The Gale Storm Show: Oh! Susanna". I was able to find all 122 My Little Margie episodes and 86 of 122 Oh! Susanna episodes. Gale Storm is so underrated as comedy star. She had 2 hit series back to back. Only Lucille Ball did better. I have to give a slight edge to My Little Margie. That show was total screwball comedy. It went back and forth like 10 times before the show ended. There was a recurring cast of 6 people. With Oh! Susanna there is a core cast of 4 people. This to me is a toned down version of My Little Margie. It's not a screwball. It's more of a regular comedy. The cast is great. Gale Storm and Zasu Pitts were made for each other. They have perfect chemistry. Roy Roberts who plays the Captain has to constantly keep them out of trouble. And James Farfax appeared in the first three seasons, helps out Gale and Zasu when they get in trouble. I hope both series get an official release. AS I write this, only season 1 of My Little Margie has been released by Reel Vault. I did contact them and they told me they would be trying to raise the money to release the rest of the series. I hope it happens. Oh! Susanna has a best of release of 20 episodes released. It's sad that two great shows have not been fully released on DVD or Blu Ray.

The A-Team: Harder Than It Looks (1984)
Season 2, Episode 20
10/10
One of the top episodes from the series
15 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes I forget how great of a show The A-Team was and is. I grew up in the 80's and watched a lot of wonderful tv shows. They were fun, exciting, adventurous, funny and had some really wonderful characters. They were also shows that the whole family could watch. Sadly those days are gone. Tv is unwatchable today. This episode has the A-Team rescuing a kidnapped girl. Then they must go back to retrieve the money and the girls boyfriend who was sucked in to the kidnapping without the knowledge it was a kidnapping. Then after doing that, the boyfriend tells them they must stop the kidnappers from bombing a Dam. This episode is fun a thrilling and funny all the way thru. This is definitely in the top 10 A-Team episodes.

Lisa Boyle naked!!!!!!! A lot! The best soft core film ever made!
2 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I remember seeing this film on cinemax back when it aired. Lisa Boyle and Rochelle Swanson made the best soft core films in the 90's. They both got naked a lot and looked great. They also knew how to make it look as real as possible. The person who said that Lisa was not nude a lot in the film must have seen the R rated cut. She is naked as much as I've seen her in any film. I will say that she made a film called on the edge in 1994 and that film equals this one with some really awesome love scenes. I would love to see this film get a proper dvd or blu ray release. The dvd I have is decent quality, but not great. Amazing that she wore the same black leather strap outfit in this film too. I could not believe. You'll never forget her smokin' hot body after you see her in that outfit.

Laverne & Shirley: The Playboy Show (1982)
Season 8, Episode 5
10/10
Carrie Fisher wearing a Green Playboy Bunny Suit!
5 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I never watched Laverne & Shirley when it originally aired. I caught this episode years later when I saw a preview and saw my first crush "Princess Leia" in a bunny outift. I fell for her when I first saw Star Wars, then Empire and finally Jedi and the Gold Bikini! Back to the episode. Carrie makes a guest spot as "Cathy", a girl who meets Laverne when she is trying out to be a bunny. There are some funny scenes with Squiggy who is playing the part of a difficult customer who comes on to the ladies in the audition. Then we get to the best part, Laverne and Cathy wearing the bunny suits are trying out for Hugh Hefner. I must admit Laverne was very funny here. I could not takes my eyes off of Cathy(Carrie Fisher). She never looked prettier than in that green bunny outfit. Very sexy. There are a couple shots of her backside that made it past the censors. Anyway Cathy sings a song at the end and gets to be the bunny. Bravo episode that is very funny and unforgettable because of the beautiful Carrie Fisher looking incredible in her bunny outfit! 10 out of 10!

Barbara Britton looks wonderful in a swimsuit!
17 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode always was a favorite of mine. The entire series was well done and Barbara Britton and Richard Denning make a great couple. Barbara Britton has a scene in a swimsuit when she gets herself stuck in a beauty contest. She is absolutely stunning in her swimsuit. Really nice body and a very sexy smile as she poses in the swimsuit! It's also humorous because of Richard Denning having a closer look when he sees his wife on stage.

Pretty good film from 1988
19 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I had never heard of or seen this movie. I really liked Deborah Goodrich and found the movie on ebay. It's a fun movie with Kevin Dillon and Deborah Goodrich trying to stop aliens from invading the earth thru a VHS movie called remote control. Deborah Goodrich is so beautiful and easy on the eyes. She has a very nice body as well. She never did nudity, but you get some brief gilmpses of her body in this film, April Fool's Day and Survival Game. Sadly she only made three films where she was one of the leads.

The Making of 'Star Wars' (1977 TV Movie)
10/10
Great Documentary of the first film I ever remember seeing in a theater
13 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Star Wars is a such a wonderful film. It's a film the whole family can watch. Sadly, most all films now days are offensive in some way and you can't watch it with your entire family. This is a documentary from a more simple and less crazy world. I grew up in the 70's and 80's and it was a good time to grow up. This was a time where action/adventure/Sci-fi movies dominated. The documentary is a straight forward look at the making of Star Wars. I loved seeing all the shots from behind the scenes. I also love that it was made for TV in 1977. The documentaries at this time were also better than things you see today. They just seemed more real. It is great to see the young cast before they became big stars. I always like seeing people on their way up. Sometimes when people make it big, they change and are not as open and honest. The original trilogy will always have a special place in my heart. They are such great films without all the profanity, nudity, gore and nasty violence that people put up with today. That is why I have viewed so few movies after the 1980's. There are exceptions, but movies from the 1930's thru the 80's are so much better.

The Dead Pool (1988)

The Dead Pool delivers in Clint's final performance as Dirty Harry
3 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I an a big fan of the Dirty Harry series. I have just watched them all on the Blu Ray release. I liked Magnum Force the least. Dirty Harry and The Dead Pool are tied for my favorite dirty Harry film. Sudden Impact and The Enforcer are next, and I like them about the same. The Dead Pool always is fun to watch and to see how Clint's character has evolved over the years. Patricia Clarkson plays a female reporter and sort of Clint's love interest. She is probably my favorite character in the Dirty Harry series. She is wonderful and has great chemistry with Clint. Evan Kim plays Clint's partner and he is also very good. I remember him from V:The Mini-Series (1983). Michael Currie is also back from Sudden Impact as Harry's boss. He is very good as well. Liam Neeson in an early role really shines as well. Others have mentioned the little black car chase scene. It has always been a favorite of mine as well. I am not sure why some people put down this film and called it the worst of the series. It deserves a better reputation.

Salvage 1 (1979)

Really well done show with a very likable cast
25 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I purchased a set of Salvage 1 about a year ago. The quality is not great, but the show is really good. I like the 3 main leads Andy Griffith, Joel Higgins(right before he Silver Spoons), and Trish Stewart. The pilot has them building a rocket to fly to the moon to pick up salvage. From that point on they salvage different things on the Earth. It's a show I never heard of, but I liked the concept and also Harve Bennett was in charge of the show. He was responsible for the Six Million Dollar Man and some the Star Trek movies. I highly recommend the show.

Watching it for a second time made it better for me
23 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is the weakest of the 4 Indy films. I like Temple of Doom, Raiders, Last Crusade & then Skull. I agree with others that moving this to the 50's was a mistake. I guess they figured they had to move it forward because it had been almost 20 years between films. Harrison Ford was still in great shape. He did a great job returning as Indy. I did enjoy Cate Blanchett more this time than when I first saw it. Her wig really bothered me when I first saw it. Karen Allen did a fair job in a supporting role. John Hurt's role just did not work for me at all. His character was almost worthless to me. Shia Labeouf was the biggest surprise of all. He fit perfectly into the Indy universe. He was the perfect guy to play Indy's son. It's sad that the comments he made broke his relationship with the franchise. I don't totally disagree with him saying what he did, but it was probably bad timing. I think they could have made 2 or three more movies with him and Ford, but that time has passed. For the movie itself the beginning with the bomb test and the portrayal of people being over sensitive about commies was not needed. There was a real concern and still is for people that hate this country and are trying to destroy it from within this country. The ending with the spaceship was just not an Indiana Jones ending. Many have blamed Lucas for this. The best of the film is the middle of it. The journey and the great chemistry between Indy and Mutt. There is also some very good humor which I loved. The action sequences get and A+. I loved them! With that said, there was too much CGI. I hate CGI. The ants did not work for me. And some of the CGI shots during the chase were weak. I did love the very last scene where Indy and Marion got married. That was well done. Overall, I still give this an 8 for the two leads chemistry and the action scenes during the middle of the film. I think they should have stopped here. But they are now filming Indy 5 and Harrison Ford is nearly 80. No Spielberg, No Lucas and made by Disney. This might not work. Disney used to be great in the 1950's thru the 1970's. Now they can't even do right with Star Wars.
