Dashcam (2021)
Pretty good but...
What we got was pretty decent but there were definitely aspects that were too drawn out and others that were very lacking. Also, seems as if you are headed to a destination you never reach. It draws you in, making you pay close attention for that key element, and then lets you down. It lets you down in a way that makes you believe the answer is right around the corner though. This would be great if it was the first film of a series with different perspectives of the "incident" and aftermath, like an anthology, that eventually told us why it occurred to begin with. If you think of it in this manner then it was pretty good. I really want more.
The Menu (2022)
Absolutely Gorgeous
This was one of the best things I've watched in ages. Initially you think it's going to be predictable and you've seen it 100 times. You quickly realize it's quite different. In the end, you understand and agree why everything was they way it was and had to be. Some characters were a little played out but it was an unfortunate necessity to get the point across. Although I'm sure most will say they never wish to have an experience like that but we all know many that it would truly suit. It was really nice seeing some of the actors in this film, especially Ralph Fiennes, he never disappoints. Highly recommend.
Malignant (2021)
Waste of time
You are better off using these 2 hours to learn under water basket weaving. I can usually find something good to say about a movie but this is absolute garbage. It's so ridiculous, far fetched and laughably terrible. I implore you to save yourself and use your time on something better than this. I'm just going to leave it at that.
Time Trap (2017)
Not what you think!
This movie is definitely not what you think it is! I am so glad I stumbled across it and gave it a shot. You should as well. It's very unique and unlike anything else I can recall. Watch it. You may not be blown away but it's a fun journey!
All I See Is You (2016)
Beautiful
This movie was pretty great. There were definitely some parts that could have been omitted that didn't add anything to the story line. The ending was a bit anticlimactic but in all it was pretty great. I feel it was a good shift in character types for the two mains. A must see. It's a bit more artistic than what you may initially expect but very much worth the almost 2 hours.
Legion (2010)
Amazing imagery!
I have watched this movie countless times. It has a storyline and imagery that just draws you in leaving you begging for more. It was added onto in the form of a TV show but I wish, as you will, that there had been a proper sequel. There is a unique take on "monsters" and a sound at a point in the movie that, odd to say, just kinda hits you in the gut drawing you in more. It's not the fanciest or scariest movie but the visuals are great and make you think, but not too much lol. Watch it. You too will go back for more!
Hotel Mumbai (2018)
Damn good!
I didn't hear of this movie coming out, randomly came across it and I'm glad I did. It's one of those that makes you feel as if you are living it or observing it as it happens. It's got some great actors and it definitely draws you in. Unfortunately the version I watched didn't have all the subtitles but you could still get a basic understanding of what is being said. If you like action, foreign or edge of your seat movies this one is for you!
Amadeus (1984)
Beautifully Made & 1000x Better Than You May Think
I was introduced to Amadeus in my high school music appreciation class. Initially I was just happy to have a break from normal studies and see a movie. Every student loves movie day no matter the subject. Well since it is so long we didn't have time to finish it but I was sold in the first 10 minutes. The costumery, the music, the personalties of the characters was so much more than one would expect from a long dead historical musician. The movie really came to life for me so I had to find it and finish it. I found it on DVD and sat there in my room one night, 15 year old me, watching it from beginning to end and getting sucked even further into the world it creates. I never knew half the stuff it covered about Mozart and it was refreshing to see the nitty gritty and not the perfect musician everyone knows him to be. I assure you this is worth a watch and you will be shocked at how much you enjoy it. I go back to it time and time again.
