Virtuosity (1995)
"Virtuosity" isn't just a sci-fi flick, it's a time capsule.
The graphics are a bit... retro, but, it was 1995! What this movie gets right, though, is the concept. This was a time when virtual reality was a buzzword, and "Virtuosity" takes us on a wild ride through what that might actually look like and oddly does.
We're talking infrared thermal imaging, a concept that's now a word that's used in and mentioned for reasons of todays technology in imaging. The script even predicted the blurring lines between real and simulated reality as well as digital avatars today which most are aware of today. Denzel Washington is, as always, a powerhouse, and the film's exploration of artificial intelligence, doesn't disappoint if your into old school graphics from back in the day that are show casing concepts of the times.
This isn't a film for everyone. You gotta be okay with a little graininess, a touch of 90s aesthetic, and a plot that's more concerned with ideas than action. But if you're interested in tech, and how it shapes our world, "Virtuosity" offers a fascinating look at where we were, and where we might be going. So strap in, get ready for some blocky pixels, and watch the future unfold.
Poor Things (2023)
Disturbing & Interesting
Emma Stone went all out with a middle finger to critics and media in this film. I said 13 times when watching it that I couldn't believe she was playing the role but congratulated her middle finger to the landlords. The movie starts interesting, gets cheeky at times, spends too much time on some of its uncomfortable leveled themes , and last a little too long. The acting is premium, the writing is comical and honest for prompting but the scenes should have been cut down for viewers. It's obviously a must see if you're a movie lover but viewers with mental issues and or under age should not watch this. It's poor at times but for Emma Stone to play the role made the movie a must a see. #DarkComedy #Dramatic #Poor & #Weird.
Frida (2024)
Story Telling Through Another Creators Views
The creator of the film used Frida's art , her writings and media then remixed it. Basically, when Frida was painting one thing, taking still shots photos or writing her items are blended into different time frames that are not accurate.
This is more of a creator showcasing their software blending skills with Frida's life and not your typical historical documentary or Hollywood True Story re-invented. This is not a spoiler rather a review of what to expect. The story plot still exist without me giving away the plot for the person who flagged my review as a spoiler. It's common sense. I wasn't a fan of the remixing of Frida's data with different time waves as it can take away facts from a documentary however I did watch the entire thing. Films are meant to evoke emotion or interest and the film did that.
The film is an introduction to software use heavily in documentary combined with Frida's sole heir niece selling the copy rights off to Frida's art to Frida Kahlo Corporation (FKC) who in my opinion did not do a professional and historical justice of Frida. Love her or hate her; she is still a legend, depicted poorly from the creators own juice...
FYI I am a fan of Hybrid or Ai created art showcases however given Frida's status she shouldn't of been depicted with the latter until we see how generations after us proceed otherwise she may get lost with the times.
Air (2023)
How brands are made
This movie it's based on real life events , re-written or not plot is branding. Everything is marketing and branding so if your into this industry, you will enjoy it. If your a mom , you will enjoy the role of Michael Jordans mom. Same as the dad. Business owner? You'll enjoy it. Dirty business man? Yup there's some enjoyment for you too. There's a roll for every character in life for any viewer to relate to and engage with. The branding concept was 10 stars. At first I thought it would he boring as hell but I laughed, clinged and cried , literally. Wholesome movie with a decent cast and competitve storyline. Just Do It >Check.
John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
Comic Book Character Beginning
Watching John Wick Chapter now in theaters and its going into 3 Hours and ending...
Here's my review:
While the scenes and staging are pretty impressive, the drag out time for the film is not.
Its mostly fighting scenes, not like the originals where there was depth.
Places they "shot" (pun intended lol) the movie and the design is 10 stars.
The movie itself is decent but directors should of cut the time down.
If someone is into this much battling they would be at home gaming ...
Would recommend if you don't game, completely free, and don't mind sitting in theaters for over 3 hours.
Not sure why movies are becoming longer and longer but they are including the new John Wick.
Best concept is brotherhood. The ending is worth the long drawn out timing from fight scenes. A new character is introduced and I'm betting this is just the beginning of a super hero style series in decades to come like X-Men.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023)
Did the Rock Spoof or is it the other way around?
Did the Rock Spoof or is it the other way around?
This movie is onboxious but good.
Better than the Rock version being it shows more character and the hero like nature in all of us (yes it's corny) but good sees good.
Bad equally.
Its almost a genious spoof or authentic original....
At this time of the year ; you won't be disappointed with tbis version of Shazamm.
Its unfortunate meets hero .
Still confused as to why there are two recent versions of this movie with the Rock a superstar playinf one version versus unknown actors and actresses being greater than the Rock in one roll. Nonetheless, both versions are decent and would recommend you watch both to get the aspects of different outlooks on life and directing. @innoparticularorder.
Project Power (2020)
Weird as Hell
Project Power is strange but in a "can not Turn the TV off kind of way"
It is based on a comic book theme so the plot makes sense. The only thing I hated was not seeing Robin power up.
Assuming this will happen if it has a spin-off. The movie rather you like it or not will keep you in your seat til the end.
The cast filmed well together and just when you think you know, you don't.
The effects were decent for the times.
The scenes and wardrobe as well as the photography are set in today's time and a bit dramatic-like today's times.
I drove 6 hours for vacation and ended up setting this up on Netflix out of boredom thinking I would pass out but staying awake through the entire movie.
You will either find it cheesy or enjoyable. Rating 10 even with the exception of off-course scenes but again it's comic and I did stay awake to finish it so Recommending it plus it's free on Netflix and probably one of the program's best movies airing at the moment.
