Shōgun (2024)

Extremely shallow

Sadly the excellent decoration is met with mediocre writing and brutal bad playing. The inability to grasp the hidden message, strange narrative just ot make thing clearer for a lazy brain. It is far away form the mystique, elegance and internal conflicts of the 80's series. The behavior is fully Americanized , the Japanese orientalism is fully depreciated. The actors play mediocre too, some lost their accent, some cannot grasp the internal conflict of the invisible. I was wondering why specific scenes are shoot just to make clearer what happens, where the master of the puppet will never have such conversations.

Glorious mediocre movie

My poor poor Asimov, how the history of the universe becomes a story of a Columbian soap opera. It seems easy, just look at this series. Empire is not politically correct, and neither is the time. We don't need to melodramatize or invent kosher heartfelt moments. The passions of empire are its timelessness, not its limitations. A beautiful series, but hollow from the inside. Woe to me, poor Asimov, someone has succeeded faster than your writing in destroying an immense universe by profane it. A strong achievement that is not recommended to experience. But if you wish a nice views and light story before good night, you will enjoy it. You seek for the Day, but you get the Dawn :)

Awful, demise, want to forget. Everything is wrong, the most dull play forever, change the actors, change the scenario, change the story, and still my memory will burn in this low quality and really really wrong show!!!

People, who will choose this movie, should be aware that it is quite real and would provoke quite different feeling, because in my opinion, it is not for ones, who didn't care about the history or actually stand on the opposite benches of some political river. First of all, the movie is not about freedom, but about choices and transitions. It is a very seldom example of hailing and in the same time terrifying the human and not ideas or systems. Simply it is about the Good man and about bad Stasi or DDR. Actually, there is no any innocent in the movie and it's the most absolute recognition that innocent, being not there, being illusion, finally appears in our changing and transitioning, recognizing the value of the others, experiencing their falling down, accelerated by believes, passions and fools and of course viewing yourself through this lens. I strongly believe that the beauty of the is movie is that actually went beyond the script (non intentionally). The play of the actors is breathtaking and will recommend to listen the movie in original (if you can) than the last phrase is so German and dubious...

Toast (2010 TV Movie)

A boring movie

The movie has some nostalgic view of old England. And than again it is full of clichés and very old beliefs. Now imagine that the boy is growing in a family, where he is missing father's love interpreted as food, doesn't show nay respect of why the food is missing and dream of eating. Of course, the coming competition with the second mom will lead to his becoming a gay (of course opening to his feeling!). But we are 2010 and this is an old story , very old one and not because it takes place in the previous century. The movie let us believe that the second mom is somehow bad, why we do not know! She searches only for a home. The father in the search for peace, finally finds it, but the boy is not able to understand. The movie is full of many questions , which the plot cannot answer and therefore it is pathetic very very pathetic one!

Ip Man 2 (2010)

awful story

I suppose that there is no more topic, which could be exploited and therefore the forever fight between Chinese and Westerners should continue. The IP2 is only one of the many movies which appeared in the last years, digging in the same basket of scripts. The movie was brutally simple and clear form the beginning and what matters is only the fight , which had one or two moments, which were totally enjoyable. In the same time the movie is full of scenes without need to be there, pathetic stories and vain moments. The bad are bad because of some unusual external power, the really bad ones will be beaten, and food is really important part of the movie.

Cop Out (2010)

Spirit of the early 90s reborn

I'm nicely surprised by the move despite of the predictable plot, but the movie has an amazing spirit, the feeling of the early 90s in really contemporary time action. The chemistry between them is so-o-o-o smoothly , I enjoyed much. In a fact all, but the bad guys performed really nice. On my opinion such movies are new technology killers. Both policeman are good partners and addition of the park-ur is a nice touch (he, I think is the nice surprise of the actors). Well the story has some interesting trails as hitting child or police violence, but it is what make it more real than the 90s or late 80s, but with their ow style. Enjoy it. Cheers

Only nice colors

OK to be short Effects: 8 -really nice effects and vivid colors, but nothing more than animation Story: 1 - very shallow movie and mix of Dancing with the wolves, Rambo, Jurassic Park and some more Behind: 0 - A really flat US history of violence, revolt and nothing more, full of military jargon and some terror links. Performance: 2- Hey a cartoon movie, where all cartoons make really "native" and "naive" faces. Sci-fi: 0 - nothing original, actually horrible lack of fantasy and the fantasy self is abused

Result: The problem is that the movie will be not watchable at DVD at all, but I really do not think that the money to spend pays.

Zavtra byla voyna (1987)

Deep and insightful

There are movies, which i don't have the wish to see second time, because the first impression was so deep and insightful, that the second time raise the fear that it could disturb what I gained from the first one. And this movie gives much, too much, question after question, where no answer is absolute. It is movie about The Life, about the wish to live and about the fear of it. It describes the life of some young Sowjets before the break of the Nazi invasion, where the Sowjet presence is depicted with the real touch of emotions. As a typical Sowjet (Russian) movie the feeling and the play of the actors dominates, but because of the confrontation between young and old, in between the young ones and the old ones, there is no single cadre, which gives me a second of time to relax and I jump form one personage into another. I think that it is amazing how this feeling drama, succeed to overcome the tragedy of the situation, of its fearful environment and to glorify the Human. Somehow there is no trail of judgment, but the actors' play resolve it in the endless search for happiness of their personages. There many strong movies showing what human do to other human, this movie shows us what one can do to it self. Just the end is a bit of pathetic, but it is the true end, unfortunately, where the unification is matter of the death.
