2 Guns (2013)
Identity Crisis
This movie doesn't know what it wants to be? Is it a comedy? Is it a drama? Is it a fantasy? Because it has elements of all of these and yet I'm left confused.
Could I just sit back and enjoy it? I think if it had some consistency, maybe. But first you let people go, or don't hurt them badly. Then you maim, hurt, and torture them. Then you kill them, so what is it?
All of the characters were acting this way, which was confusing. Are there good guys and bad guys? Are they all just bad guys? I could allow for all the fantasy aspects of healing, shooting, driving, and acting but this additional inconsistency is just too far fetched.
Aspects of the movie were disjointed and out of place. They didn't move the "plot" if there was a plot forward. I don't know, if you want to watch a super hero comic come to life then it's a maybe. Lately there is much content with less and less quality.
Lou (2022)
Great actors, wasted talent, required too much suspension of disbelief
I just want to be entertained. Wasting great actors on a bad story with little credibility makes for a long slog.
So many things are just off. Give me some good whys?
Why is this person doing this or that?
Does it follow the storyline or are we just making it all convenient?
Lately all these seniors both men and women having a past with incredible skills lying dormant. Well it's getting tired as in I'm tired and they're definitely tired. I made it part way through the last few because they always love to include dogs. We're going from fiction to fantasy with most of them. From fight scenes to action, even stunt doubles can't make this up.
There's always one moment in a movie where you say, that's it, I'm done well with this one it was near the end. Raining down AK 47s passing through one body but not the other, when the bodies are hugging?
This one made me cancel my 10 year run with Netflix, crap and more crap. Sorry, maybe you think this is worth your time.
Shark Tank (2009)
Shark tank finally jumps the shark
After 13 seasons this is where I get off. It has been degrading over time with their own brand of choosing which "causes" worthy of their largesse.
The new format is I guess their way of appealing to a more base audience. Text in answers to questions, live studio audience, and an announcer all make for a carnival atmosphere. The talking over each other makes listening difficult.
It was more thoughtful, insightful, and entertaining in the old days but this along with much content is insulting. With so much being produced it is becoming a chore to weed out the great. Well if this doesn't encourage you to find a good book I don't know what would?
The Terminal List (2022)
A Fun Ride
It's not the best or awesome but it's good. An interesting romp, maybe a little worse than the recent Reacher. Worth the time and investment. Compared to the amount of action content, it's a good afternoon.
Kinks: Chris Pratt is out of character but tries hard, his beard is laughable.
The Old Man (2022)
Talk, Talk, and More Talk
This show has become a soap opera. I think the trailer shows you all the action. It's all long convoluted dialogues. Little in the way of action. If relationships are your thing you're in the right place.
A waste of talent in my mind, could have been a fun exciting ride. Instead, we get a lot of feelings and heart to heart conversations. Maybe that's what they were going for HOWEVER why make a trailer that emphasized action?
Westworld (2016)
Music, Set Design, and Production Par Excellence
It's stylish, modern, and has incredible production value. You can nit pick the stories or you can sit back and enjoy. Overall it's not that complicated. I saw the original Westworld in a movie theater and we are light years from that. People love to complain, but look at where TV is now? MAD MEN, GOT, BREAKING BAD, and people still complain.
Westworld is very simple. They even change the screen to letterbox for the sublime. Without getting into each and every storyline, AI has an agenda, humans have an agenda, in different variations and gradations that each assume to have power over the other. This is an amazing show that is a fun ride.
Home2Home (2022)
Seriously Not Reality
Ok Why not say that he has a crew to: watch his bike and stuff, to help him with the filming and overhead shots, to protect him, and with the cost of all this over his 2 year adventure.
Instead Netflix makes it like he's completely solo! Only One reviewer talks about his lack of any sun tan, lol yeah, that milky white skin wouldn't fair too well in some of his environs, never mind in the direct sun for hours every day.
It's so silly to show obvious footage of him from afar and drone shots but never once alluding to his assistance. It gives naive people the wrong impression. Some of those countries shouldn't be visited alone. This documentary should come with a disclaimer.
