The Jitters (1989)
Just bad...
Chinese vampires that hop around like bunnies who can only be killed by placing a piece of tape on their face chase around a bunch of people with really bad haircuts. Yes, it's as bad as it sounds. There's even some pretty awful kung-fu scenes, not to mention really bad dialogue ("What's that thing over there? Let's kill it!"). Acting is awful and the "terrifying effects" advertised on the box consists of some really really really bad makeup work. If you ever find it in the far far corner of your video store (which is highly unlikely), rent it if you like laughing at awful movies. And believe me, this one is awful...
1/10
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
Creepy atmospheric horror film
This movie is a great horror film that creates a spooky atmosphere. The monster itself is very eerie, and the film even has its share of jumps. I think it deserves a way better score than what it has right now, but I can see that this film isn't for everyone.
If you want to see a slasher film that is actually scary, see this one. I give it a 10/10.
Ghosts of Mars (2001)
Fun movie
Ghosts of Mars is pretty much Assault on Precinct 13 set on mars. It's a good movie to watch on the weekend with a few friends. Not as good as some of Carpenter's other work (The Thing, Halloween ETC..), but fun to watch.
8/10 (9/10 if you're a Carpenter fan)
Jurassic Park III (2001)
Tremendous leap over the Lost World
I knew walking into the theater (driving in actually) that this film couldn't be as bad as The Lost World. I was right, this is an awesome film. Not as good as the first (who's expecting that?), but good fun with great special effects. Basically the movie is just people getting chased around by dinos. Actually they get chased by really big cgi dinos, and it's real fun to watch.
Overall, one big, fun chase 9/10
Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies (1999)
Good Sequel
This is a pretty good sequel to Wishmaster with some okay effects (and some bad ones). I like the Wishmaster, he has some funny lines (and always walks around with a cool grin on his face).
Watch it if you liked the first one, 6/10.
Evil Dead II (1987)
Comedy horror masterpiece
Evil Dead 2 is probably one of the funniest horror films ever made. Bruce Campbell is great and the effects are good. This film deserves the huge fanbase that it has.
One of my favorites, 10/10.
Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)
World's funniest movie
This movie is hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing. Ed Wood has made a truly campy sci-fi movie regarded as one of the worst films ever made. There's actors knocking over cardboard sets, lines that don't make any sense, and ufo's held up by clearly visible strings.
Watch if you want a good laugh. 1/10 as a sci-fi, 10/10 as a comedy.
