Ultimo mondo cannibale (1977)
Very Good:JUNGLE better than CANNIBAL & FEROX;Loved MeMe Lai
I've seen all 3 movies (JUNGLE HOLOCAUST,CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST,CANNIBAL FEROX). JUNGLE HOLOCAUST was made in Mindaneo, which is in THE PHILIPPINES,NOT in Malyasia! Majority was filmed in -and the true story took place in- the Philippines! I prefer the FIRST AND BEST Cannibal movie,"Jungle Holocaust" (a.k.a.LAST CANNIBAL WORLD). It's based on a "true" story. It shows man's survival from cultured world to a primitive (cannibal) world! It didn't disgust me because I can take anything on the screen, unless it's "REAL","LIVE",that is,no special effects (The croc killing I can take;I guess animal killings I can take to an extent, because in today's world, nothing phases me anymore in the 21st century, but I'm in reference to ACTUAL REAL disgusting happenings:like open heart surgery scene in ALL THAT JAZZ). I feel "Jungle Holocaust" has a much better story, much better directed, much better edited, much better acting! And "Jungle Holocaust" has a LOVE STORY! I LOVE ME ME LAI! SHE'S VERY BEAUTIFUL! And a good actress! I only wish she was in the movie more! And I wish she never quit acting! (Do you really believe she had breast implants?!) I also wish the movie showed more of the cannibal scene with Me Me Lai at the ends of BOTH movies:"Jungle Holocaust" and "Cannibal Holocaust". Another reason why I loved the first "Jungle Holocaust" was the movie had more of Me Me Lai. But it also was very well constructed, better made than "Cannibal Holocaust" and "Cannibal Ferox" ("Ferox" didn't have Me Me Lai, plus those four people were annoying! No story!) "Jungle" also shows the "real" life of a cannibal tribe. See it if you haven't,but don't have a faint heart or stomach if you plan on watching it! I believe that the DVD of "Jungle Holocaust" is better made also! LOVE THIS MOVIE! 10 out of 10 (partial because of Me Me and the ending)! By the way, where can I find "MAN FROM DEEP RIVER" with Me Me Lai on DVD to rent or buy? Thank you! July 17, 2004 -PAul
A Guide for the Married Man (1967)
EXCELLENT FUNNY! Wish it were on DVD and in widescreen/letterbox!
This movie is very funny and only wish it'd be on DVD! And if so, in letterbox / widescreen! Which I know is a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Studios keep putting out the same titles over and over again on DVD; there are MANY other titles / movies that need to be on DVD! I remember seeing this film on ABC on their afternoon movie (4:30 PM), back in the 1970's, and then awhile ago, in letterbox / widescreen on the AMC channel (before they ruined the channel by going with commercials). The character of Robert Morse ("Ed") shows Walter Matthau's character ("Paul") how to cheat on his wife, by telling stories of other men who cheated on their wives (utilizing famous celebrities in cameos in these roles), and explains what they did and how they did it, and what to do and what NOT to do. The title song by the Turtles is great! A bouncy tune! Someone should tell 20th Century Fox to put this out on DVD and if and when they do, put it out in letterbox / widescreen. SEE IT (if you have not)! ENJOY! -Paul latinogringo941
