Big Eden (2000)
it was good but borderline cringey
The story follows Henry Hart (Arye Gross), a successful New York artist who returns to his hometown of Big Eden after his grandfather suffers a stroke. As Henry reconnects with old friends and faces his past, he finds himself drawn to two men: Pike (Eric Schweig), a quiet and reserved Native American, and Dean (Tim DeKay), the town's warm-hearted but closeted sheriff.
The film captures the complexities of relationships, whether it's the unspoken bond between Henry and Pike, the rekindled friendship between Henry and Dean, or the enduring love of the town's elderly couple, Grace and Widow Thayer.
One of the film's major pitfalls for me is its portrayal of romance, which comes across as forced and lacking in authenticity. The interactions between Henry and his love interests, Pike (Eric Schweig) and Dean (Tim DeKay), feel awkward and stilted, failing to evoke genuine emotion from the audience.
Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (2001)
this movie is mindblowing
Watching this was one of the earliest animated that i have watched yet it still top 50 of my all time favorite movies. The story is complex yet it well written and illustrated.
It is a masterpiece that transcends the boundaries of animation, captivating audiences with its enchanting storytelling and stunning visuals. Directed by the visionary Hayao Miyazaki, this film takes viewers on a surreal journey into the magical world of the spirit realm.
Beyond its captivating story and characters, "Spirited Away" also explores deeper themes such as identity, greed, and environmentalism. Through Chihiro's journey, the film encourages viewers to confront their own fears and prejudices, ultimately leaving them with a profound sense of empathy and understanding.
In conclusion this movie is a must watch.
