Fallout (2024)
You don't have to have played fallout to love this show.
I really didn't want to watch this show. I had no real interest in watching a show adapted on a game that I had never played. However my husband had it on and after around 3 minutes I was already hooked.
There is so much to love about it. The sound track is really enjoyable. Especially if you love the 50's. The acting and plot are both great. In my opinion nothing lets this show down. We didn't want to stop watching. Unfortunately sleep and working got in the way of that.
I'm very excited for season 2. I honestly think that this is one of the best series I have ever seen. And I'm pleased that I gave it a chance. I really don't think you have to be a gamer to appreciate this. But obviously if you've played fallout you probably have a little more insider knowledge.
Highly recommend this show. 8 episodes is not enough.
Intelligence (2020)
Very funny
When I first saw the advert for this. It looked really funny. However sometimes all the funny or best parts in the show are put in those 2 minutes of trailers, so I have to admit I wasn't sure if it was going to be that great but thought I would give it a go. I'm so pleased I did. It's fantastic. I was laughing out loud after the first 5 minutes. David Schwimmer and Nick Mohammad have such great chemistry that makes the show an enjoyment to watch. I don't really understand why this has such a low score and definitely deserves alot higher. If you are looking for something funny then definitely give this a go. I really hope it gets a third series.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
Best of the three
I love all the conjuring films but The devil made me do it is probably the best of the 3. The acting is great as always. I don't think it had as many jump scares but it definitely gave me an uneasy feeling which personally I prefer. I don't want to give too much away but if you like these films you will like this one. I hope they continue to make more in this franchise.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Not a ghost story a love story
As a lot of people did, I compared this to Hill House. Hill House is scary, so I expected that same thing from Bly manor. But it's not the same. If you have seen Hill House and loved it. Please do your self a favour and watch Bly manor by considering them all together as different shows. I don't want to give anything away with this review but I honestly think that the story of Bly manor will stay with me for a long while. The ending was perfectly splendid. It's hard for shows such as these to have a good ending. But they did well with this. It might not be for everyone. But I just wanted to give this show the credit it deserves.
The Green Mile (1999)
A film I will definitely never forget
I have always wanted to watch this film, but the 3 hour running time just put me off. Don't let that be the reason you don't watch this! I'm not even sure I can put into words how wonderful this film is. I was surprised how much I laughed at this film. But equally ugly cried, which I wasn't as surprised about. Yes it's a sad film for many reasons. But its somewhat beautiful. My favourite Stephen king adaptation by far.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013)
My favourite show of all time
I love Brooklyn 99 it's honestly my favourite show. I think I've seen it now about 5 times from start to finish. And still it makes me laugh out loud. I don't really know what's not to love about this show.
Klaus (2019)
Magical
A beautiful magical film. Like many other reviewers I'm writing this with tears in my eyes. This is a new classic. I know I will be watching this again before Christmas.
The Day Shall Come (2019)
Really liked it
Actually really liked this film. I don't really understand the bad reviews, deserve much more then a 5. Really makes you think. Would recommend people watch this.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Disappointing, boring and far too long.
I never really thought IT was scary as such
a few cheap jump scares but nothing that would give me nightmares, However I do love the story, chapter 1 is enjoyable and I am invested In the characters, so I was excited for chapter 2. However about half an hour in and I felt like I had been sitting there for two hours. Around halfway through, two other people got up and walked out. I seriously considering going with them.
I lost all interest in the characters and couldn't have cared less if they all died. I just wanted this film to end. This film is far too long with many scenes that just felt regurgitated from chapter 1.
As others have said the CGI just takes away from the scare factor. And it's just not believable. How you can be scared of penny-wise I just don't know.
Don't waste your money going to see this at the cinema. Don't even buy it on DVD. Maybe if you really have nothing better to do and this film is on one of the many streaming sights give it ago. But then again just watch the first one but imagine them 27 years older!!
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
I thought I knew what an amazing film was until I saw this!
Once upon a time in Hollywood is an incredible film. I loved every moment of it. So much so I've seen it now twice in so many days. And plan on going again later this week, and I'm sure that won't be the last time I see it while it's still playing at the cinema.
Personally I'm not a fan of Tarantino films, I find them slow and over the top with a few exceptions. However hands down once upon a time in Hollywood is my favourite. Actually come to think about it the best film I have ever seen.
The acting is brilliant but isn't that to be expected from the likes of Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Leo?
I don't really want to give too much of this film away. Just go see it!!
New Amsterdam (2018)
Love, love, love New Amsterdam.
I'm a huge Grey's anatomy fan, and love a good medical drama, I was honestly just put this on to pass the time. However New Amsterdam is very good. And in my opinion up there with Grey's. It's an emotional rollercoaster. I really do love this show. And can't wait for the next season.
Yesterday (2019)
Wow, what a film!
Yesterday is so fun to watch, I loved every moment of it. So good to finally see a film that isn't a remake or a sequel. Himesh Patel and Lily James were brilliant and relatable. I loved their chemistry.
Loved all the music obviously!! how can you not. The Beatles are the biggest selling band in the world, if they didn't exist the world deservers to hear their music.
However above all loved the underlying message; success doesn't also have to be about the money you make and tell the truth at every possible opportunity you get.
I can't wait for this film to be released on DVD so I can watch it again and again.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
Heartbroken
I love Toy story. It probably is one of my all time favourites. I was lucky even enough to have an original buzz light year toy, So obviously when I found out toy story 4 was being released I couldn't wait. I love all Disney. But it was good to know that I could watch a film that wasn't a remake. I could go into this film feeling like I did when I watched Toy story for the first time.
I wanted to like this film so much. And don't get me wrong the animation was beautiful. The first scene was brilliant. It felt like the good old days. And I was hopeful for the rest of the film. But unfortunately this film just didn't sit right.
One huge problem for me is that it wasn't believable. Woody was being forgotten about and being left at the back of the closet. But Toy story 3 would have you believe that Bonnie loved Woody and after the heartbreak of watching Andy give him to her at the end, was okay because you thought she would love him just as much.
Second of all. I know that it's all about the kid. But it isn't. It's about the toys friendship. Leave no you behind. So why would Woody choose to leave all his friends. It just doesn't make sense. The whole set up for this film from the beginning was to make you feel comfortable with woody leaving. But it's just not in his character.
All our favourites Slinky, rex, Hamm, bullseye, Jessie to name a few got next to no screen time. Buzz got some but still not enough! He was almost made to come across as an idiot. For what, some cheap laughs.
This film was scary the dummy's were nightmare worthy but the actual protagonist just wasn't deep enough. No where near Sid, Stinky Pete or lotso. Probably so you could like her and be happy she found her kid. It just felt far too forced for me.
Overall I wish this film didn't exist. Watching the RV drive away made me honestly feel heart broken. I felt as if I truly had lost someone important. And how would Andy feel knowing that the Toy he so dearly loved, the Toy he entrusted to Bonnie was now lost.
Toy story should have ended with 3 or at the very least Woody should have been taken to college with Andy where he would have been Loved.
Aladdin (2019)
The best live version Disney remake
I was really worried about this movie. Would it be as good as the original Aladdin animation? I walked into the cinema with very low expectations. Within the first 10 minutes, I was transformed back into a child. Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Will Smith did this movie proud. I was singing along to the classic songs laughing and crying. It was a beautiful version that I will one day hope to share with my children. I have given this a 9 out of 10 as even though I thoroughly enjoyed this movie it could never be as good without Robin Williams. But Will was a pretty good second.
Dead to Me (2019)
Wow
Dead to me is fantastic. I don't think there is one thing I could say against it. Every episode leaves you wanting more. I laughed and I cried. Shows like this I always worry about the endings. But the ending was incredibly and as per every episode I can not wait for the next season! Go and watch it you won't be disappointed!!
Life Itself (2018)
Beautiful.
Times magazine named this the worst film of 2018. I honestly don't understand how they thought that. This film was Beautiful. And deserves so much more recognition. A film that deep down is about love and life the highs and the lows. I love this film.
Coco (2017)
A Beautiful masterpiece.
Coco is a beautiful story based on family and the day of the dead. Pixar have out done themselves. The animation and music is fantastic. This definitely bought a tear (or ten) to my eye. Coco is possibly my all time favourite Disney film.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
The Greatest show of the year
I love this film. I've seen it 3 times and would see it again. The acting is brilliant. But that's to be expected from Hugh Jackman. It's a feel good film and the music is fantastic. So good that I've downloaded the soundtrack and it's currently the only thing I'm listening to, just can't get the songs out of my head. You will not be disappointed I can't wait for this to be released on DVD. This is by far my favourite musical. Maybe even my favourite film.
