Midnight in Paris (2011)
Pure Magic
I can't tell you how much I love this movie. Jumping in and out of fantasy was just a joy to watch. This is one of if not Owen Wilson's best performance, he really shines in this film. The emotion connections between the characters are perfect, it's not over the top or hits you over the head with it, its subtle and perfect.
Highly recommend this film!
Lady Driver (2020)
Another Disappointment
The trailer for this film looked fun, evidently it was just a well made trailer, because this film is not sadly. This is just another below average hallmark movie. From acting, story and just overall feel, it's just amateurish, which would make sense, because with this low budget they probably hired a 1st time film student director. On a positive note, I love the female empowerment, but here it just comes across as very forced and unbelievable.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)
Mr Rogers! kinda
I really enjoyed Tom Hanks as Mr Rogers, but thats the problem, there wasn't enough of him in the film! I did however enjoy the story of the film, but would have liked it to be more focus on the man himself. Still, worth a watch.
Roped (2020)
What a disappointment!
I've been on a Netflix kick stuck at home and after watching so many great movies on there I have to say I am extremely disappointed in this film. This film was like watching a bad hallmark movie. Everything was hollow, the performances, the story, just all below part. A film like this should have a strong emotional foundation to it, but it didn't. I kept wanting to turn it off, but I kept it on in hopes of it getting better, but I was wrong.
Don't waist your time.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Not as good as I had hoped!
Freddy is without a doubt a supreme talent and an amazing real life story, but this film missed the mark. First off, Rami is perfect and the best part of the film, but the emotional roll coaster painted in this film feels capped, bottled up. I heard the director was absent through have the film and it shows, the movie feels like it's missing a leader or a consistent vision.
I enjoyed Rocket Man much more.
Titanic (1997)
Lives up!
Just recently saw this film again and I must saw it holds up! A friend was putting this film down and I couldn't disagree more. The effects still shine bright! The music is unforgettable, and Leo and Kate are just so lovely. It does get a little silly here and there, but those are just minor gripes. This movie gives you the feels!
Watch this movie if you have seen it, watch it, watch it, watch it!
A Star Is Born (2018)
One of the better remakes
Having seen the many remakes of this film, I must say this film did the storyline and emotion justice. It goes without says, even though Im saying it, the acting and music are amazing, it makes the film alone. But where the film really shines is the emotional connection between the cast and more so, the leads.
I would recommend this film, real drama, real emotion.
