Still Smokin (1983)
Cheech & Chong are obviously not everyones taste, but...
19 April 2002
Cheech & Chong are obviously not everyones taste, but I for one, think that they are two of a kind, that deserve more recognition from those in the, so called 'know'. This little gem is yet more proof, that these guys are as funny today as they where twenty years ago. Sex, drugs & hippy wierd stuff, at it's best.

Would anyone like another piece of pie?
31 May 2001
Kenny Everitt was, in my eyes, one of the funniest and most original entertainers this world has ever seen. This film along with 'The adventures of kaptain Kreman' show but the tiniest portion of the mans talent. 'Blood bath at the house of death.' while remaining very British in some respects, I feel, allows Kenny Everitt's sense of humor to be enjoyed world-wide. We've all seen the movies this one lampoons, and it manages to do so, in an original way. I'll never look at a pie, in quite the same way again. OK the acting was never going to win any prizes, but it's not suppose to. Just take a look at the sort of films it portrays, you won't see much acting ability there and Kenny knew that. Kenny Everitt ,Vincent Price and Brian Glover how much talent can you squeeze into a spoof?

If you can get hold of this on video, then do so. Treat yourself, your worth it.

Geoff Goldblum as a cowboy?
31 May 2001
This little known (at least here in the UK) film, must be one of the oddest, but most surprising films I've ever seen. From the musical number in the bar all the way to, what is, in my eyes at least, the best credits scene(?) in the history of the motion picture. All of the major characters are played equally well, with both passion & a good helping of the ridiculous. This shows just how well written it is, because it can't have been easy, for Geoff Goldblum to carry off that cowboy outfit. This film shows just what can be achieved, without having to spend $500 Million.

Dark, Brooding and DISNEY?
31 May 2001
Dark, Brooding and DISNEY? Can it be true? It's not exactly Disney's normal view-point, but it works. I'll start with the robots, the dark & formidable 'Max' and the lovable & quirky 'Vincent', are both great, as is the majority of the acting. The haunting theme sets the scene for what I can only describe as Disney's best live-action film to date. There are scientific gaps in the story, but it is a kids film (I didn't know anything about astro-physics at the age of TEN).

I understand that to some people, the subject of BLACK HOLES, is not exactly the most enthralling, but they have paid the bills of many a Sci-Fi writer. If the school holidays catch you by surprise, and your kids still have some imagination, then this could be just the thing your looking for, you may want to watch it with them, if they are paticually young, but you never know, you may end up liking it yourself.

Russ Meyer, not the most Politically Correct person in the world.
31 May 2001
Some people might say that Russ Meyer is nothing more than a dirty old man, but SO what! He certainly knows a good thing when he sees it, day in, day out, having to film these lovely creatures, while we go back to work in our factories or offices. This particular offering, is nothing out of the ordinary, it stars Russ Meyers lovely wife Kitten Natividad, as, indeed, do most of his films. Russ Meyer, while not being the most politically correct person in the world, should, at least, go down in history as one of the FEW film makers in the world, that could tell the difference between a NAUGHTY movie & a DIRTY movie.
