Ten Tiny Sex Stories
14 March 2003
This is a movie about how men think women think about love. No woman describes a one-night sexual encounter and declares it a love story.

Of the ten monologues I felt only three really had any kind of truth ring through them. I kept waiting for the film to get better, and it did a bit, but never better enough.

This is an interesting concept, and I kept wanting it to be good, but it never succeeded. Maybe if they actually WERE love stories it would have worked.

Very trite plot combined with cookie-cutter characters
11 May 2000
The only reason I watched this film was I didn't think something with both Helen Hunt and Sarah Jessica Parker could be THAT bad. Boy, was I wrong! This has every trite characterization from the nasty spoiled-rotten rich daddy's girl to the heart-of-gold innocent catholic school girl with the overly strict military dad who just moved into town to the beautiful blue-collar boy who's mom is dead and doesn't want to let down dad and his bratty little sister. Pathetic. The ending is obvious before the story even gets started. Wow. I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt and Parker simply "forget" to put this film on their CVs. I wish I could forget about it too. Just give me a day or two...

Best Muppets film since The Muppet Movie!
10 January 2000
I was thrilled to see how great this movie was, and how much fun it was too! I took my nephew and niece, (ages 8 and 11) and they loved it too! This is written for kids, sure, but it is also very much for adults. I think I probably laughed as hard, if not harder, than the kids!

Especially nice is the fact that Kermit actually sounds like Kermit again. Once or twice I heard the voice not sound right, but overall I didn't notice, unlike something like Muppet Treasure Island where the voice bothered me the whole time.

All I can say is that this is the best Muppets movie in ages, and GO SEE IT!

The full movie is much better than what they show on TV
16 June 1999
I thought I had seen "The Sound of Music", several times in fact. Really I hadn't. I finally watched the film on video and found that what they show every year on television is not the real movie! Significant scenes have been cut and significant lines of dialog have been removed from many scenes that they did include. At least three of these cuts actually changed the plot of the movie. I think the original makes MUCH more sense and is really a good movie. Don't waste your time with the tv version anymore.

Wonderful and sad movie
5 February 1999
This is definitely one of the saddest films I have ever seen, and also one of the best. Though it is sad, it is absolutely not a "chick-flick", and the cinematography is beautiful.

Emily Watson was robbed of the Oscar for best actress for this film.

I thought about this movie for weeks afterwards-- not just about the beauty of the film-- but about spirituality and what one looks for in their religion. An excellent film.
