Flay is an indie horror film loosely based on the Slenderman character. Already released on Digital in 2019, Flay will now show on DVD, through Random Media this November. In the story, Moon (Elle Lamont) struggles with a death in her family, while an American Indian spirit haunts her. As well, this title was developed by Phame Factory, with Eric Pham (Red Planet) directing and Matthew Daley the central screenwriter. Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) and Dalton E. Gray also star in this film about a strange, spiritual character. The film's mythos revolves around cursed chains. Once touched, the curse transfers to the person and an Indian spirit hopes to trap their souls, while seeking revenge - for the curse. Part drama and part horror, Flay will be available November 18th, on DVD. Extras have not been announced. However, this title has a runtime of ninety-four minutes and will likely be released in an unrated format.

Exclusive: Flay, the feature film that Sony claimed was a rip off of its own Slender Man, is set to finally be released after independent production company Phame Factory and the Hollywood studio resolved their differences.
Last year, Sony served the indie with a cease-and-desist order to stop the release of Flay as it claimed that it was a rip-off of the Slender Man character, which it had the exclusive rights to.
However, Phame Factory filed a lawsuit in July seeking a judgement that its promotion and distribution of Flay didn’t infringe Sony’s copyrights. It has now won the right to release the film and has reached an agreement with Sony, albeit with a disclaimer on advertising materials, trailers and the movie itself.
The film, which is written and produced by Eric Pham, tells the story of a young woman who goes up against a malevolent faceless spirit.

The first trailer for Slender Man released earlier this year, in January. Since then, the film's scheduled May release has been pushed back to August. A bit of controversy has surrounded this film and the characters therein. In 2014, a knife attack took place, involving three girls. The two attackers were inspired by the character Slender Man and attempted to sacrifice their victim to this creepy pasta character. Families were not happy that a film was being made, based on the character. Less potentially fatal, the producers were also unhappy with the film's change in release date and have been shopping the film around to other distributors, besides Sony Entertainment (Slash Film). Most recently, a lawsuit has been started by Sony against Phame Factory, over their film Flay (The Wrap). Sony alleges that Flay is based on the character Slender Man, which Sony currently holds the rights to? With all of these controversies aside,...

Phame Factory has filed a lawsuit against Sony Pictures over their upcoming film “Slender Man” and an indie title called “Flay” that Sony says is a copycat of the internet urban legend they bought the rights for.
In court documents filed Thursday in West Texas and obtained by TheWrap, production company Phame says they have received several cease-and-desist letters over their plans to release “Flay,” and now want a judge to rule that “Flay” does not infringe on Sony’s copyrights for “Slender Man.”
In fact, Phame even challenges the validity of the “Slender Man” copyrights, stating they are “either indefinite, encompass free to use by all public domain property or lack the requisite legal requirements to be protectable and enforceable.”

A lawsuit filed Thursday against Sony Pictures has all the makings of an intellectual property horror story.
The plaintiff in the case is Phame Factory, which had planned to digitally distribute a movie titled Flay only to get served with several cease-and-desist letters from Sony, which alleges that the main character in Flay blatantly copies the mysterious Slender Man, its bigger-budget horror flick set to be released Aug. 10. Phame Factory is now seeking a declaratory judgment that its promotion, distribution and advertisement of Flay doesn't infringe Sony's trademarks and copyrights. The Flash season 2 looks to be overun with speedsters (naff 'run' pun intended). As well as Barry Allen, they've already added parallel universe Flash Jay Garrick and potential sidekick Wally West, both of whom are endowed with similar powers to Barry in the comics.
Now, another character from the comics with super-speed has joined the ranks - Jesse Quick. In the source material, Jesse Quick is the superhero alias of Jesse Chambers, a speedster who is the daughter of DC heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. She traditionally has super strength as well as speed.
In the show, Jesse Quick will be "a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad... Zoom."

Earlier on we learned that The Flash was getting yet another new villain for its second season in the form of Tokamak (Demore Barnes), but now The Wrap reports that things have been evened out with the addition of a new ally for Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and his pals. Violett Beane (Flay, Slash) will play an incarnation of Jesse Quick, who's described as "a brilliant, quirky college student who gets caught up in Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) battle with Season 2’s big bad, Zoom, who has yet to be cast." In the DC Comics universe Quick is Jesse Chambers; daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. In addition to her speed powers she also has her mother's enhanced strength and stamina, but it remains to be seen if that translates to the small screen. EW is also reporting that Malese Jow (The Vampire Diaries, Star-Crossed...
