Again, I can't wait for the next episode
alienroc24 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
There are so many good, great, oh my god brilliant! TV shows at the moment that is is hard to get around watching them all. When there is such a long break between seasons, it's easy to fall into watching something else and lose the momentum and interest in a particular show. I was starting to get to that point with Castle. Then I saw 'Valkyrie' and it felt like someone slapped me across the face for even thinking that I was losing interest. The chemistry between Castle and Beckett at the get go pulls you back in. Then you have the well paced action through the show and then the cliffhanger.....in the FIRST episode of the season!

The good: Caskett, action, 'YES', Fillion, Katic, Edelstein

The not so good: Miss the familiar NY precinct, not enough of the boys, Pi

The bad: Having to wait till next week to see the rest of it!

All in all, an excellent episode. I just hope they find a way to bring it back to NY and have the team together again. Castle's back baby!

Great episode, except for Alexis...

Warning: Spoilers
Great episode, dealing with the issue of Kate going to DC.... But when Richard comes home, he finds out his daughter (miss know it all never do anything wrong Alexis) moved in a guy to HIS place without even asking.... The hubris of Alexis is beyond anything she has done previously... Obviously she is NOT that smart, because she keeps messing up thinking she knows everything.... Like castle telling her not to put all her info online, places she's been, her routine, where she is going, and she berates him for being concerned.... And guess what? She gets kidnapped much more easily precisely because they knew where she was and when.... Every series I guess needs that annoying person, not sure why, and she is it.

One of the bests of Castle for me
manuliege26 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I was afraid to see an "escape" at the wedding question, but the first 5 minutes couldn't be more perfect. I especially noticed (or is it me dreaming ?) the even better relationship between Kate & Castle. She seemed to me much more enthousiast, much more involved in the relation, and it's for me the really first time I think : "If they stay on this kind of relation, they could perfectly be the modern "Jonhatan & Jennifer" ". I never had this feeling before. About this episode, there's no minute where you think it's a boring one, or even a 7/10 one. From begin to end I enjoyed this episode, much more than 90% of the others - that I liked too of course - but the game of Beckett is at a higher level and I loved it. If the quality stays so high this season, this season will be the best.

No, no, no. Not no. No, not yes.
sini-20020 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Great start where we were left off in S5 finale with the iconic Caskett proposal. I also really loved Beckett's realistic reaction to Castle's marriage proposal, it seemed so Beckett to kind of panic like that and not to know what to say. It seemes genuine. And how Castle honestly did not care about her new job opportunity, because he couldn't imagine his life without her.

I liked the new setting with DC though it did made me miss the NY precinct and the team. But weird how now suddenly everything in Beckett's case is classified as if it wasnt in NYPD when Castle saw more serious confidental things like? Okay sure.

Love Castle. Not a good episode.
kateAraya71526 November 2021
These two grown adults act like working for the Federal Govt is not 1000x more serious than her previous work?! What are they 12? They treated these characters like idiots. Just him acting like their relationship will be the same is immaturity beyond measure. Extremely disappointed in this episode. I hope the writers get better as this season goes on.

Rick Misses Kate! Kate's Now a Fed!
ShelbyTMItchell25 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Rick proposes to Kate as she says yes. Now skip two months later, as she is training to be on the Attorney General Federal squad over in DC. Not the FBI as a lot of people are referring to her new job.

Rick tries to surprise Kate out. After he has finished his book tour on the West Coast. But after he stumbles upon a conspiracy that could hurt national security, he tries to help out Kate. But she warns him that he can't help her out as she is no longer NYPD. And that this is national security issue.

Also her mentor, Lisa Edlestein's federal investigator, Rachel McCord dislikes him, and warns him of obstruction. But still, as it means more hours and very less time with Castle.

Still, there is just less of the NYPD with Ryan and Eposito. As Kevin is going to be a dad. Practicing changing a diaper on a baby doll was cute.

Alexis has a new boyfriend named Pi. Whom Richard takes an instant liking to him. As he was OK, not as annoying as I am in the minority. But still, Alexis can do better than that.

Anyway it seems that Castle is inflected by some virus and given less than a day to live. As this of course, is a two parter.

Edelstein is OK as McCord. But still, a little annoying. At least she has a soul. But really telling Beckett she can't have a life, kind of makes McCord jealous that Beckett has one, and McCord does not.
