And Now.......The Assistant
Hitchcoc20 October 2021
In this episode, Sheldon has scraped up all his old notebooks from his childhood. Since none of his friends will help review them, he hires a grad assistant. She is Alex, a very pretty brunette. She is outgoing and seems to get along best with Leonard. Penny is having trouble with this. The second plot element involves Howard's space fever. He is getting claustrophobia and the weightlessness is doing a number on him.

"I have an eidetic memory."

Sheldon often claims to have an eidetic memory, yet he forgets things even more often (and so do the show's writers). The whole premise of this episode's A plot is that he's looking for something he might have forgotten.

Leonard befriends a pretty scientist, which makes Penny and Raj jealous. Raj is desperate to find love, can't talk to women - still no character progression for him.

Howard is struggling to endure his stay aboard the International Space Station (which did not exist in the '60s, despite what he says).

Still a funny episode, far above average for this part of the show. That "Thrilla adjacent to the amygdala" joke, in particular, cracked me up.

Sheldon's assistant Alex is introed on "The Higgs Boson Observation" ep of ""The Big Bang Theory"

Warning: Spoilers
In this ep of "The Big Bang Theory": Sheldon looks at his papers from when he was a child and wants someone to look them over for a possibility at a Nobel Prize but since Leonard won't do it and Penny's just a "blonde monkey" to him, he hires a young woman named Alex (Margo Harshman) as his assistant at the university. When Amy finds out through her picture phone Alex is a she, she barges into Sheldon's office but no one's there so she "marks" her territory with Penny watching. When they later eavesdrop at the cafeteria, they see Leonard talking to her so now Penny's jealous though she doesn't want to admit that. Oh, and we see Raj without alcohol so he once again can't talk around pretty woman and Howard's now going crazy still in space...The funniest ep I've seen of "The Big Bang Theory" of this season yet especially with the addition of Alex. She should be around for a while. Still can't wait till Howard comes back home. Think I'll review the next ep soon...

Warning: Spoilers
Bernadette calls Howard and he wants her to drop something because he really misses gravity. Sheldon gets some journals and research papers from his other in a box. Sheldon thinks that we was a child he came up with an idea that could win him a Noble Prize. Sheldon needs someone to read his papers so he asks Leonardo who does not want to do it. So Sheldon interviews a Grad student to help with the sorting of his papers. Sheldon hires his assistant to help and of course Raj cannot talk to her. Howard seems to be losing his mind in space because he has to wait at least another week. Bernadette mentions that he survived a weight watchers cruise with his mother, he thinks he's going to die in space. Amy after getting her makeup done wants to speak with Sheldon and meets his assistant. Amy gets jealous thinking that his assistant will fall in love with him spending so much time with him. Amy comes into the office spreading her scent like she did in Penny's apartment. I still do not get even though Sheldon is smart and respected how anybody could want to be near that long and not quit. Amy and Penny look in on the guys with the new girl and it seems Penny should be worried now in Amy's words. Howard still is going insane as he says of the earth. Amy then talks to Penny about her relationship with Leonard and not she is bothered about this new women, even though she does not really know where her relationship is with him. Leonard finds his new experiment with how Magnets stick together. Then Penny takes Leonardo away to go do it with him as she pleases. Boring episode with Mayim being the best only because she knows how to mix comedy with a performance and not make in a 2D character.

EPISODE GRADE: C (MVP: Mayim Bialik)

The Higgs Boson Observation

Can we just end the 'Howard in space' plotline now? Please!

It's absolutely rubbish. It wasn't much fun when in the fifth series he was planning to go, now he's up there it's actually worse. There's nothing funny about any of the scenarios they have put him in, and they are hard scenes to get through.

It's a terrible shame because everything else in this episode works very nicely.

Penny's slow realisation about the depth of her feelings for Leonard is well played, and they really give Jim Parsons lots to work with, as Sheldon gets an attractive assistant.

I really hope the Howard plotline ends soon.
