- There is no sex, or sexual situations. Otto Kilcher once danced suggestively in front of his wife.
- Otto Kilcher has once or twice taken off his dirty shirt for cleaning.

- There is no violence or gore, with respect to humans. But animals are slaughtered, and sometimes butchered on camera.
Profanity

- The F and S words are masked. Words that used to be considered vulgar -- such as "bitch" and "ass" -- are generally allowed to remain.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- The Kilchers occasionally drink alcohol, mostly on festive occasions. There is no apparent drug use, legal or otherwise. The Kilchers appear to be non-smokers, but a neighbor or two has been seen smoking. One of the cattlemen apparently chews tobacco.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- On at least one occasion, Atz Lee and Jane were chased by a bear.
- Scenes of animal slaughter -- both wild and domestic -- are common. Some viewers find these disturbing.
