The glaring flaw that ruins it all.

Chompcrc here. Ok, so despite the weak, unexplained plot, there is a flaw that can't be overlooked... WHY IN THE NAME OF ZEUS' BUTTHOLE DIDN'T THE BLONDE SHOOT THE GUY? I swear these people do this stuff on purpose. She had ample opportunity, right down to having the killer grab her from underneath a bed, to shoot the freaking guy, and she didn't do it. The gun was in her hand. Couldn't the actors have questioned it? It's obvious that the director doesn't have the first clue as to what he's doing, but the freaking gaffer could have brought it up or something. Come on. How elementary of an effort. And by the way, the twist makes no sense, and doesn't work... at all. Please take your ball and go home.

Real Estate

They're selling real estate. The girls are pretty. The film starts well. But the girls are frustratingly inept. They immediately dissolve into shrieking, shaking, hand-wringing wimps; clutching each other, as they stumble from room to room in this beautiful desert home. The end had a twist; but it wasn't a satisfying one, or even all that believable. Seen on Tubi, the free streaming site; which has lots of indie low-budget stuff.

Average at best

Warning: Spoilers
It's Spring Break time! But instead of going to a big beach party, three college friends (who all attend different colleges and rarely get to see each other) begin their Spring Break by traveling to a remote home in the desert courtesy of a client of Rachel's father. The catch? Rachel has to take her two younger sisters along with her. Rachel made plans for her boyfriend Shane to arrive later that same night, along with a couple of his buddies.

On the way, the five girls encounter an old muscle car with tinted windows acting mysteriously on the road: driving up on their ass, pulling up next to them, revving the engine, etc. He soon drives off and is spotted once more, then seemingly goes away. Once they reach the isolated home, everything soon seems better and Rachel sends her little sisters off with some money and her car. Bad idea.

As the night progresses, and the boys never show up, the three friends begin to hear noises outside and someone keeps ringing the doorbell. What they first assume is a prank, turns out to be something much worse and with no phone reception (of course), they become trapped inside and must find a way to defend themselves from whoever is lurking on the outside.

MACHINE HEAD started off okay enough, but soon became a bit boring as the three friends ran around inside the house, kept looking out the windows, were freaking out and at times were at each others throats. Some tension was created. The acting was decent. Not the greatest location to shoot this sort of film. A nice twist ending helped it redeem itself somewhat. Average at best.

THAT WAS MY SEAT

Warning: Spoilers
The film opens with Amber (Markie Collins) being at home alone in her remote California paradise home. She hangs out by the pool in her bikini and showers, clearly behaving in a manner that would invite a stalker. She is killed and later a group of girls use the home for spring break. Because of circumstances Rachel (Sharon Hinnendael) must take along her two sisters one of which is very moody (Morissa O'Mara) and anti-social. The girls hang out by the pool in their bikinis and shower expecting Shane (Robert Adamson) and two frat boys at any time. Rachel plans on doing "things that would make my father's head explode."

The film had everything in place, soundtrack, babes, slasher, etc. but failed to capitalize on it. There was no terror. Characters not developed. The dialogue was dry. And I am still wondering why we were shown the killer in the first scene and what that had to do with anything.

Guide: F-bomb. Implied sex. Nudity (Markie Collins, Nicole Zeoli)

quite suspenseful but cheesy ending could have been avoided

Warning: Spoilers
this film machine head or spring break killer came in 2011 but i saw it last year & its got enough suspense to hold your attention for long but the climax is cheesy but unexpected at the same time it could have been avoided.

the plot:few girls travel to an empty quite & isolated house in USA to spend summer time they are relaxing & chilling out but things goes wrong as they get stalked by someone outside.

the cast:plenty of girls i can name all of them but Nicole Zeoli & Alexis Archer are beautiful ladies.

as you watch this film you will raise some expectations but its exactly the opposite like who is the stalker & who is near the pool trying to scare the girl & usual chick flick with little nudity becomes a horror film was surprising plus why would these girls go to an empty house that have local phone land lines cut out.

overall machine head 2011 is a nice film to see if you are bored & want some suspense nothing more my rating is 4/10.

IF LACK OF COMMON SENSE ANNOY YOU, SKIP IT.
darrenk-6121924 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Wow, just wow... Total waste of time and energy. As 1 reviewer already stated, there's a major flaw, that'll make you want to throw your remote at the TV. Just a bunch of screaming and running without any common sense during the last 25 minutes of this crap. 1st If you know there's a gun in the closet, why grab a fireplace iron? 2nd if you can see the killer at the pool, how's it too dark to shoot before running back into the house? 3rd how can you have a gun in your hand and not fire when the killer is holding your legs with both hands? 4th why leave the gun with someone else to go look for your friend, now you don't even have a weapon to fight with? Please avoid, even if you get to watch it for free.
