Creepy Movie with a Disappointing Conclusion

After the death of four high school students, the last two playing Russian Roulette, Detective Lampkin (Orlando Jones) investigates the case interviewing the students in the school. The teenager Katie Dunn (Jennifer Foreman) mentions the weird twins, Jonah (Edmund Entin) and Seth (Gary Entin) Trimble and Lampkin summons the brothers for interrogation. Lampkin is a traumatized man that lost his beloved wife in a fire and has deep scars not only on the face, but also in his soul.

After the deaths of Katie and the pedophile Kirby (Rusty Tennant), Lampkin learns that the twins have an evil telepathic connection and are capable to make people live their worst nightmares. He goes further in his investigation and discovers that the evil twins are the result of an experiment. However, his superiors do not trust on him and believe that he has hallucinations. Meanwhile Jonah falls in love with Eve (Samantha Droke) but his brother does not want to separate from him.

"Seconds Apart" is a creepy movie about two powerful twins that use their abilities for the evil. The story has a great atmosphere and the weirdos are scary. Unfortunately, the messy conclusion is very disappointing, but anyway this film worth to see. My vote is six.

I have learned better than to simply take a good or poor IMDb score as proof that a movie may be enjoyable.

I grabbed this movie, not expecting a whole lot, honestly. Having recently tortured myself with Anthony Hopkins in the laughable "The Rite", I figured this couldn't be nearly as bad.

And I was right. Sure, the plot is a bit predictable - but very well shot. Color palate of the film matched the surroundings, and points for the use of the creepy Gothic Southern manor.

The actors portraying the twins were really quite good, as were most of the student roles. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other about Orlando Jones, expect to say that he didn't annoy me in his police officer role - neither over the top, nor dead in the water.

For a Tuesday night film, this far exceeded my expectations.

Well done!

A more terrifying Jedward

I felt it I know that the "After Dark Horrorfest" often do really bad horror films that are just clichéd with very little interesting characters or action. The only exception being the mesmerising "Frontier(s)". Obviously "Seconds Apart" is no where near the standard of "Frontier(s)" but it is a very interesting, watchable and enjoyable film! I would very happily watch "Seconds Apart" again, just for it's pure bravery to go beyond the conventional slasher or ghost story and create quite a complex blend of narrative and characters.

Just imagine Jedward but even more terrifying. Even though I am convinced that this is probably what Jedward get up to and I'm pretty sure that if john or Edward got a girlfriend they would end up killing each other. But anyway, getting away from the point! The twins are really interesting characters to have to front the film. They are the protagonists but pure evil. They're performances are really chilling and they are well-written characters which is nice to see. Geroge Richards (the writer) manages to make them completely unlikable and likable at the same time. they're fascinating! Unfortunately the burnt black cop isn't quite so interesting as the boys and his story, although complex and well thought out is unnecessary and quite annoying.

"Seconds Apart" is directed like a music video. It's got almost too much style with lots of cuts and fades to black and jump cuts that can be quite off-putting but also quite nice to see. I know I'm not making any sense but I did quite like the mad-cap editing in some places. It was obviously well thought-out and broke away from the boring static conventions which we find in every single horror film! The cinematography was really excellent though and the set-pieces such as the twins creepy old house were really well done.

Although the story was OK I couldn't help but feel it could've gone better. I think I would've preferred to have seen more drama and sibling rivalry when Jonah or Seth (can't tell 'em apart!) got a girlfriend because I found that prospect really interesting. However instead they decided to focus much more on the detective getting closer to them which was exciting but not as interesting. I think the fight seen at the end of the film could've been better also.

The score and music in general was really well done here, it's got a creepy edge to it and is memorable. Overall (especially me actually being a twin) it was quite a creepy and fascinating insight. With stylish direction, thoughtful writing and glorious characters! With some tweaks this could've been a really great film, but is instead just a really good film. But oh well, it was fun and although there could've been a little more gore the deaths were disturbing and creative anyways. I'm giving it a very solid 7 out of 10 which is definitely leaning more towards the 8 side. Definitely worth a watch.

Trial And Error...

SECONDS APART stars identical twin actors Edmund and Gary Entin as Jonah and Seth Trimble. They're busily working on a "project" that somehow leads to the apparent suicides of its subjects.

A cop (a brilliantly serious Orlando Jones) tries to figure out why so many deaths seem to lead back to the Trimble brothers.

Soaked through with a bleak atmosphere of building dread, this movie plays like the ultimate X-FILES episode. It scores extra points for originality.

Twins Powers Activated

This was an interesting film regarding superpowers of evil twins. The film makes several brave choices by not following normal procedure. This leads to a more artistic movie where you don't feel too invested in any one characters. It jumps in and out of the lives of a typical troubled cop/detective, but doesn't stay with it enough to feel too generic. The acting by the twins was very good and helps set the somewhat unsettling atmosphere.

Unfortunately, there was wasted potential. Motivations for the twins was not flushed out enough, the ending was okay but weak, and one plot hole was too annoying to ignore. One character points out two specific differences between the twins, but then is obviously fooled later on. Why even shoot that scene if you are going to completely disregard it later? Also, the illusions seem to occur, and crumble, when necessary to move the plot, and possibly lasted while the caster was asleep??

A somewhat generic story told/shown somewhat uniquely with a strong cast and united twin powers. An enjoyable, but flawed affair. I hope these twins star in more movies!

Those Telepathic Trimble Kids

Identical Twins Edmund and Gary Entin star in Seconds Apart. The title refers to the fact that the two were born exactly that way to their mother. In point of fact for purposes of this film understand that they can't be apart for a second.

Like the Halliwell sisters on Charmed with their power of three, these two have the power of two, they are telepathically blessed from their point of view or cursed from everyone else. Since they were little kids when they experimented on their late babysitter when they pool concentration they can do remarkable things to others.

A couple of kids at their Catholic High School died playing Russian roulette and that gets cops involved, specifically Detective Orlando Jones. He figures out what was going on since the boys have the power to force hallucinations and he's still traumatized by the loss of his wife in a fire. The problem is that Jones can't get anyone else to believe him.

The two Entin kids are terrifying and the film does create a nice atmosphere of Gothic horror like what used to be done at Universal Studios in those classic days. This one's a bit above the usual slash and gore flicks inflicted on the public today.

one of the worst movies i have watched.there is almost nothing i liked about this movie.the plot is not bad i mean i like those kind of stories about evil little twins but this one is too absurd and the story goes for my taste so slow and then nothing happens and i was even bored at the times

OK so they wanted to make a psycho-thriller or something like that but that is nothing like that.yeah we have two evil twins holding there hands together and getting into peoples' heads (thanks to holding hands and standing behind their targets) but for what? they talk about some project they have to take or make or whatever and guess what they only wanted to feel sad coz' they were crazy little kids who started killing since they were like 5 years old...oh yeah and they killed their parents too...to shorten the story skip this movie!!not worth watching 2/10 2-for the plot that could be good but turned out bad

After ages, Afterdark finally get it right!

In case you don't know, Afterdark are a film company who make horror movies. These films normally consist of six stupid teenagers getting stranded somewhere then getting eaten by a monster/a cannibal/a ghost - take your pick. In short, Afterdark films are those you only watch if you're really not expecting too much.

However, with 'Seconds Apart' I think they might have finally got one right! I remember there were two twins at my old school. They were skinny little boys with squeaky voices and they got bullied. However, in Seconds Apart, you really shouldn't pick on twins Seth and Jonah - they have telepathic powers and they ain't afraid to use them! Seth and Jonah, played by real life twins, are genuinely creepy as they set about their evil ways. The story plays out a bit like a slightly extended X-file, only without Scully and Mulder. Instead, we have a cop (seemingly the ONLY cop in the town who is allowed to drink on duty and slap a child in a crowded school dining hall and get away with it) who, upon finding suicide victims, automatically suspects locals twins because of a suspicion that they might have telepathic powers (good call, huh?). But that can be forgiven on account that the story is pretty good. I won't say too much as there are even some things that you might not see coming.

All I'll say is... if you see a pair of twins holding hands near you - RUN! WARNING: I think it's also fair to point out that this film has a scene where two people OVER the age of forty kiss (that was possibly the most horrific part for me).

the mind is a terrible thing to taste

It's all about telepathy, not that it is bad at all but it wasn't my cup of tea. It do has some really nice shots and mind tricks but the red stuff isn't their. Don't get me wrong, it isn't necessary (think Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) but then you will need suspense and here it's all about the talking. Be warned, the first minutes are really well done, it do has some suspense and some bloody shots but after the begin credits it falls into one speech after the other. The acting is really okay and the way it was filmed too but if you go into the world of telepathy then I think more like Videodrome or gory stuff like that.

A good entry from After Dark Originals

Normally evil twin premise seem clichéd and predictable but at the very beginning; Seconds Apart comes with an interesting opening scene. There is no build up, we are thrust into this crazy story as we witness some boys become the subjects of the twins' interesting "project". It does not let down from here on in as the deaths become stranger and the storyline becomes more warped. This film would have fallen apart if the two twin leads did not have the right look or the talent to back it up; fortunately both the brothers were impressive. They mirror each other exactly, making the scenes where they terrorize classmates all more chilling. When weaknesses start occurring in one's personality it's really nice to see how they play off each other and as their relationship change. Though Orlando Jones is barely recognizable in his role as Detective but he wasn't terrible either. The problem mainly lies in his character like with the feeling of guilt and responsibility after his wife's death and this case seems to be a personal mission for redemption…now that's pretty clichéd. What is great about this film is that nothing really goes in a usual way; it has all the makings of a generic thriller, but the story did kept me watching to see how it is resolved at the end. The story line with the detective is fairly predictable and it resolves itself the way you would imagine, but the end sequence was well orchestrated as the things were heating up well before they climax to a blistering end.

The Entin Twins need acting class

I am going to be honest. The plot is a little weak and I really could not get past the absolute diabolical acting from Gary and Edmund Entin. The two of them need an acting class, pronto. I remember seeing them briefly in a role in that bomb of a film 'the seeker' -not worth watching either- I recall thinking about how BAD they where in that too. It is sad to think that these two terrible actors are even getting work. They are certainly NOT worth the price of admission or cost of a DVD. Not even worth my renting or streaming! An that is free. . . So that really says allot. Now as for the actual film, there are some moments of gore, but you could watch a dozen other films and get a better caliber of acting. This is just a straight to DVD job and YOU CAN TELL. That being said, if you do enjoy watching really terrible acting with some camp moments of horror then by all means this is the movie for you to sit down with.

Gloriously gory fun

Where did this great little movie pop up from - I'd never heard of it or its two main twin stars.

Whatever, it's a great little horror film. The pre-credits opening sequence is genuinely disturbing and hooks you right away.

Gore-wise it's not a film with a constant flow of blood or rapidly rising body-count but when the violence comes, strewth, it's pretty disturbing.

A couple of great twists, too.

And cinematography isn't something I usually comment on but this really was beautifully shot.

One of the crispest looking movies I've seen in a while - at times it looked almost 3D.

Well worth checking out.

Alexandra Daddario's baby-brothers are creepy as hell!

I didn't for the least bit expect it myself, but "Seconds Apart" left a big and positive impression on me! This is the type of horror film where you beforehand expect to see 2 or 3 noteworthy sequences, and maybe a bit of gore, but then it gets instantly and forevermore erased from your memory. Instead, however, debuting director Antonio Negret comes with a clever film that has a genuinely unsettling basic plot to begin with, and then lots of morbid atmosphere, freakish characters, shockingly grim imagery, insane twists and explicit gore to boot! A few historical titles, most notably Cronenberg's "Dead Ringers", already demonstrated that much horror/thriller potential lies in the bizarre and inexplicably psychic bond between twin brothers or sisters, and Negret clearly understood this very well. The Entin brothers are superbly cast as Jonah and Seth Trimble, social outcasts at school that solely rely on each other and on their disturbingly picturesque parents. The twins are on a mission - frequently referred to by themselves as 'the project' - to finally experience some kind of emotion. Any type of emotion will do, and therefore they use their strongly overdeveloped telepathic powers to make people at school commit suicide. After each death they stoically ask each other if they felt something, which is really uncanny! The traumatized police Detective Lampkin links the unusually high number of suicides to the apathic behavior of the twins, but their mutual bond also weakens because Jonah is attracted to the new girl in town. "Seconds Apart" begins very powerful, with a nasty game of Russian Roulette, and every subsequent murder/suicide scene is cruel as well. The flashbacks/nightmares Det. Lampkin suffers from are occasionally redundant, but they are also full of horrific imagery, and literally ALL sequences involving the twins' parents are freaky. The Entin brothers give away great performances. They may look like boyish versions of actress Alexandra Daddario (without the perfect boobs, obviously) but it's particularly their cherubic faces in combination with their emotionless attitudes that make them so menacing. Antonio Negret somewhat loses control over the plot and narrative structure when approaching the end of the film, and thus the final act is quite disappointing, but "Seconds Apart" definitely ranks among the top-best efforts of the After Dark cycle.

PS: I find it quite remarkable that I haven't read in any other reviews that these Entin twins strongly resemble Alexandra Daddario. Surely, I can't be the only person who thinks they look alike?

Hokey but Cute Twins

Seth (Gary Entin) and Jonah (Edmund Entin) are twins who use their telepathy to murder their classmates in sadistic ways and then watch the videotaped murders in an attempt to feel fear. Years earlier, their first victim was the babysitter who devoured a lovely breakfast concoction of milk and glass shards. Fast forward to present day when a group of jocks kill themselves during a game of Russian Roulette, which prompts the police and a haggard detective, Lampkin (Orlando Jones), to start an investigation.

No one wants to talk, especially not about the twins. His suspicion grows after Katie, a fellow student who rats them out, slits her own throat in broad daylight during class. Lampkin takes it upon himself to mercilessly stalk and harass the boys. With the detective recording their every blink and fart and the arrival of a new student, Eve (Samantha Droke), tension between Seth and Jonah spirals out of control toward a climactic conclusion.

This isn't much of a horror or thriller film despite perhaps one cringe- worthy scene put in for shock value. It's more of a mystery & suspense/crime drama but, CSI fans, stay far, far away, lest you want to burst into tears every time Lampkin hits the screen to continue his inappropriate reign of terror on the twins. The shoddy detective work is highly suspect and, obviously, the writer didn't research this aspect of the film as much as he did telepathy. Is it going to go noticed by the average viewer? Probably not.

The movie idles midway through but it manages to come back to life toward the end. Despite the faltering story, the performances are above average, which is surprising for lesser known flicks, horror or otherwise. Most horror buffs will find Seconds Apart distinctive and refreshing. Everyone else may just see it as another hokey After Dark presentation with cute, creepy twins.

Twins of Evil

This was one of the features in the 2011 After Dark Horrorfest and I've just got round to watching it now. I tend to buy DVDs on a whim and often end up getting distracted and forgetting about them.

Seth (Gary Entin) and Jonah (Edmund Entin) Trimble are twin brothers born less than a minute apart. At a teenage party a group jocks blow their brains out in an oddly persistent game of Russsian Roulette, while Seth and Jonah hang out in background filming it. Detective Lampkin (Orlando Jones) senses something is really off about the scene especially the absence of any witnesses to the boys killing themselves in a house full of people partying. Seth and Jonah watch their video of the deaths eager to illicit an emotional reaction in themselves, some sign of feeling of empathy with their victims. They somehow caused the deaths as part of what they call The Project using their unspecified mental abilities. When they get ready for bed they perform their ablutions in perfect synchronicity, which really enhances their creepiness, especially when they go to sleep facing each other in the same bed.

Lampkin goes the Catholic school that the dead boys attended and tells the headmaster he wants to interview the pupils to see if any of them have any idea what happened at the party. He raises the possibility that the deaths were not suicide and that they were made look that way to cover up murders. He interviews a girl, Katie who is very nervous and withdrawn. She says she's glad the jocks are dead. Lampkin guesses at relationship gone bad with one of the dead boys which Katie confirms. She then mentions someone making a film and we get a flashback to Katie having sex with one of the boys in a locker-room while Seth and Jonah stand beside them and record it on video. She seems unsure of what is happening and we get the impression that the scene is another part of the twins' Project. I don't know how much of that she told Lampkin but it seems to be this that put him onto Seth and Jonah's trail.

Jonah meets new girl Eve (Samantha Droke) who insists on Jonah's help to find her class. Lampkin interviews Seth about the deaths, deliberately keeping the twins apart to trap and split them and trap them in a lie. While he's away Eve and Jonah chat together in the canteen. Lampkin tricks Seth into confirming the existence of the video. The boys appear in the headmaster Father Zinselmeyer's (Marc Macaulay) office. Using their mental powers they force him to tell who spoke to Lampkin and after Zinselmeyer tells them about Katie Seth leaves the priest to kill himself.

Lampkin really has his work cut out for him trying to prove that the spate of suicides are actually psychic murders, an idea no-one takes seriously but he is aided by the split between the brothers caused by Jonah's growing relationship with Eve

I enjoyed this film. It's not brilliant or even particularly original but the story did keep me watching to see how it is resolved. The film does not make it clear what mental powers the boys possess but it does gradually reveal that they are very powerful telepaths and telekinetics. Although there is some gore it is minimal and necessary for the story and it good to see the use of old style effects. The Catholic high school setting seemed a lot more authentic to me than many other high schools in other films.

Creepy premise but fizzled out execution.

After Dark Movies are known mostly for true horror genre fans and Seconds Apart follows two geeky twins with mystic and psychic telepathy power to pull off tricks.

Nonetheless, this plot have not been utilized to its full potential.

The casting was good with Orlando Jones being the investigating detective but story itself is the primary issue in this movie.

The cinematography is dynamic as color palate used here fits the scene and the background entirely.

The opening scene is flamboyant to hold audience retention but ultimately it fails to deliver.

In general, it is a decent horror movie with no jump scares but I will remember this as a twin blood and gore movie horror movie rather than usual horror movie.

Decent movie but could have been better

It's be on my watch list for a bit and I was did not expect get this movie for one pound, It's was decent movie for one pound that for sure.

I liked the twins was doing the same thing at the same time at the start of the movie, it makes feel bit more creepy.

As the movies goes on, it kind of losses the creepy of the movie but get bit stranger and can get a bit confused in few scenes,

Your watching it but not sure what really going on at times also I enjoyed how twins mess with victims but at the same they are also messing with us.

That decent curve in story, I didn't not see coming at all, after that, the movie felt a little to rushed.

I do think this movie could have been a lot longer, there decent stuff, which I don't they used to full potential.

6 out of 10 - I got it for £1 so I not complaining

It could have been so much more...

For a movie in the 'After Dark' series, then "Seconds Apart" was somewhat of a disappointment. Why? Well because this movie was predictable, boring and very uneventful, and far, far from being even the least bit scary.

One thing that the movie did have working for it, was the camera work and the cinematography. That was actually off the charts. The movie was really nice to look at, almost bordering on being worth of being called art. And that is what made me suffer through the entire movie, just watching the great camera angles, the contrasts of colors used, the way the scenes were set up, and the details in the scenes.

The acting in the movie wasn't bad either, although I wouldn't say that there wasn't anything memorable being put on either. Orlando Jones (playing detective Lampkin) actually did most of the carrying in regards of who pulled the most weight in the acting. Edmund Entin (playing Jonah) and Gary Entin (playing Seth) did also do alright jobs, making their characters come off as disturbing and twisted.

I had expected more from this movie, as it is part of the 'After Dark' series, so I was somewhat disappointed with the predictability of the movie. The movie had a great thing with building up suspense and leaving you to wonder, but it eventually was toppled by the predictability of the movie. And once the director decided it was time to reveal the reality of what was going on in the movie, it just totally fell clattering to the floor, the movie took a turn for the worse there. That ending was, in my opinion, not the best of choices.

"Seconds Apart" might be interesting for you, if you like pseudo-horror/thrillers that doesn't require too much thinking. Just don't expect too much, you might just set yourself up for disappointment.

Despite the great camera work, it just wasn't enough to sustain the movie and keep it afloat. This was a disappointing experience for me.

A surprisingly well made entry in this year's 'After Dark' horror series!

'SECONDS APART': Three Stars (Out of Five)

This entry in this year's (2011) 'After Dark Originals' is about mysterious twins with deadly telepathic and telekinetic abilities. It was directed by Antonio Negret and written by George Richards and it stars Orlando Jones (in a surprisingly serious role). It also stars Gary and Edmund Entin as the twins and Samantha Droke as one twin's hot love interest. The acting is all decent and so are the overall production values. This horror film is also surprisingly unique and somewhat unpredictable. It's a surprisingly well made entry in this year's 'After Dark' horror series!

It tells the story of Seth and Jonah (the Entin brothers), two dark and creepy twin brothers attending a Catholic high school. When their classmates begin dying mysterious deaths, that appear to be suicide, the lead detective investigating the case, Detective Lampkin (Jones), begins to suspect the twins are somehow involved. The twins have a special bond, that only they know is the power of telepathy, and are doing a project that involves making a movie. Lampkin knows that there's something off about them and he knows they were close to a number of the victims before they died, sometimes with a camera (although a recording can't be found). As he questions them things become tense and Lampkin is also haunted by memories of the death of his wife in a tragic fire. Things also become emotional for the twins when jealousy begins to tear them apart as a lovely young lady (Droke) enters one of their lives.

The film is very dark and twisted and has just the right amount of gore and thrills to please most horror fans. The Entin brothers are great in the leads as the twins and make a very frightening duo. Droke is great eye candy and Jones is interesting as the movie's protagonist. I never really knew where the movie was going and found it pretty engaging right up to the end. The lead characters are the twins though and they're a little too dark and sinister to really care about them, so the movie lacks any true sympathy or heart. It's a great dark horror film though that's plenty disturbing and manages to offer a somewhat different story than the usual. It's definitely one of the better 'After Dark Originals'.

Predictable, could have been better

Seconds Apart – TRASH IT (C+) Seconds Apart is one of those horror movies which either not very bad nor very good. This is strictly in-between. The movie starts off strong but stumbles towards the end. Everything was so predictable no shock value in the end. The Twins Edmund and Gary Entin are creepy looking dudes. They defiantly bring the scare factor in the movie. Other cast is pretty much mediocre especially the black police officer.

On the whole, there is nothing like we have not seen before. A good attempt but good have been better. I won't recommend to anyone so simply Trash It!

Double trouble.

The Siamese twins and the pair of pinheads from Freaks; Basket Case's Belial and Duane; the vampire babes from Twins of Evil; the ghostly girls from The Shining; the sisters from Brian De Palma's Sisters; the gynaecologists from Dead Ringers: just some of the creepy twins to have chilled the blood of horror fans over the years.

Jonah and Seth (Edmund and Gary Entin), the telekinetic brothers from Seconds Apart, might not be quite in the same league as these horror heavyweights, but as the stars of an After Dark production that I purchased from Poundland, they did a surprisingly decent job in creeping me out, causing plenty of death and destruction in what proves to be a rather stylish and reasonably scary movie.

Seconds Apart starts with a bang (literally), and despite the script occasionally entering clichéd territory (girl sleeping with the wrong twin), director Antonio Negret keeps the pace going and achieves some inspired visuals and credible performances from his cast, with Orlando Jones deserving a special mention for his impressive turn as a cop with a tragic past (and another for Samantha Droke, simply for looking hot).

Bland, dull supernatural thriller

When a series of brutal murders seem to be done by the hands of sinister twin boys, a detective races to solve the truth behind their seemingly strange powers before their rampage grows even-more bloodsoaked.

This was a complete and total bomb, as there's very little of interest in this one. It tends to trade most of it's creepiness on the appearance of the twins rather than having them do anything or even make the film creepy, and if twin boys with a cold glare, sinister haircut and dress aren't creepy to you, it really does very little. Most of that is due to the fact that it centers on a mystery angle with the detective investigating their activities to the point of aggravation and boredom since it's just plain dull, the boys aren't given anything remotely resembling a normal motive which is all left to the imagination, and really the whole film comes across as been-there, done-that in regard to their powers, their appearance towards others and what they've been doing all along. It's only interesting in the finale, when it gets interesting once they get ticked off with each other, but it's all too late to be of any help after such a lame twist beforehand. Not really all that worth it.

Excellent, mind-blowing, creepy film

Very much enjoyed this film. Interesting premise and story, just the right amount of "creepiness", gore, and psychological thrill. I cannot think of any similar films and for this reason feel it is certainly quite unique, unlike any other, and deserves to be watched by anyone who enjoys mind-bending horror. Visually spectacular, well-written, great acting and, although there were a few instances that I thought were predictable, I was wrong 95% of the time. The film keeps you thinking, guessing, and those are the best types of Horror/Thrillers in my opinion. Definitely feel this film should have a higher rating and I'm not sure why I had not heard of it before finding it on IMDb. Of course, with ANY movie, everyone will form their own opinions/conclusions and what some viewers may love, others may hate. This is why it really needs to be watched so one can form their own opinion and review.

Would like to see more similar films such as this one! Seconds Apart, as mentioned, is in a class of its own!

Seconds Depart

Seconds Apart starts off ultra dark and sinister. It makes you feel as if you are watching some dirty snuff film, or that you are apart of some bizarre witchcraft. Whilst it does have some confusing elements about it, Seconds Apart is, for the most part, enjoyable. The whole investigation idea does feel unnecessary, and the story does go off on some weird tangents, but overall it does connect nicely.

Seconds Apart may not be the greatest film ever made, but even in it's mediocrity, it still has enough light to shine through it's bleakness. This film will definitely only be for those daring enough to try out some of the weirdest cinema since Eraserhead.

What I think about it? Meh...

OK, first off, it isn't a bad movie. Hell, for afterdark production it's pretty decent! But... yeah, for afterdark production. As the movie goes, there isn't much to it. The actors are kinda lame, sometimes annoying, especially that stereotypical tortured cop that gave us a stupid cameo of the new treatment techniques for great burned (so very unuseful in the movie). The killing scenes where good one time on two. The story isn't bad. Even if the love story that, so very sadly, composes a great part of the story is kinda boring, the twist ending, I must admit, caught me off guard! It was pretty damn good! (kinda lacked a lot of logic but shhhhhhhhhhh.) Though, that's one of the only interesting things in the movie, and it's ruined by the final scene which is... especially unsatisfying. OK, you could say it was unexpected, but what's better? Classic and satisfying or new and bad? I think the movie pushed it's own luck with what it could get away with that much of a clever plot. It won't save this movie from it's awful... pretty much anything else. Not less than four stars because damn that twist. With all that said, It's definitely one of the, if not THE best movie to come out of afterdark production, and that's saying a lot.
