The Einstein Approximation (#3.14)
ComedyFan201024 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Sheldon was so funny in this episode. And Leonard dealing with him was also amusing. Love how he said to Penny that Sheldon escaped and is terrorizing the village. Sheldon at the job agency and then "working" at the cheese factory were also great scenes. And watching at the end Howard and Raj doing disco at the roller skating place was great. I also loved Howard doing that little dance on the steps in the beginning when he came from the double date there.

"The Einstein Approximation" is a pretty funny enough ep of "The Big Bang Theory"
tavm5 March 2011
Warning: Spoilers
In this ep of last season's "The Big Bang Theory": Sheldon is stuck trying to solve a thesis to the consternation of Leonard and Penny whenever they are trying to sleep. He then remembers that Albert Einstein worked a menial job at a patent office in order to concentrate on his theories so Sheldon goes to an employment office to see what humiliating occupation he could get. The lady there ("The Simpsons" Yeardley Smith) gets irritated at Sheldon to the point of calling security so Sheldon just goes to Penny's The Cheese Factory to solve his problem. Notice I didn't say work since he didn't even get hired...Not as funny as previous eps (or maybe I'm just a little tired of the standard characterizations) but still entertaining enough. It's certainly a treat to see Ms. Smith and hearing her voice outside of her Lisa Simpson on the long-running animated series. Oh, and there's a subplot about a roller disco that results in a funny sight gags involving Howard and Raj at the end. So on that note, "The Einstein Approximation" is a funny enough episode of "The Big Bang Theory".

Too Tired to Work
Hitchcoc6 October 2021
Sheldon is working on one of his advanced physics problems and has hit he wall. He won't sleep until he solves it, but his lack of sleep is preventing him from thinking straight. Enter Bernadette. Soon he decides if he can find a menial job he will be able to work while thinking of the solution. It gives him a chance to insult several people.

Let's make Bernadette and Leonard's mother regulars on TBBT
basilanthonyjr3 December 2010
The Einstein Approximation is one of the best shows so far. It shows Sheldon at his classic best. What I liked about this show was that Bernadette controls Sheldon ,not Penny. It is hard for anyone to control Sheldon and Penny does it with sarcasm. This series showed that it could be done in a positive way by Bernadette. I think Bernadette has earned her way into this show every week. I would like to have the writers create a relationship between Sheldon and Bernadette that would be dynamite since the chemistry between them is excellent.

The show is beginning to flounder with too much repetition of certain things. For example Leonard's frustration with Sheldon has reached the point that it appears that he is so depressed that he just does not care anymore what happens to Sheldon or to his life in general. Penny and the other two main characters are becoming just too predictable that it is starting to become boring. We need a new character on every show to interact with Sheldon and the rest of them to make it fresh and new and unpredictable and I think that character is Bernadette. This show is great but lets not lose it.It needs new blood and now. More appearances by Leonard's mother would also help as she and Sheldon are dynamite together.

Quite Possibly the best episode of TBBT I've ever seen... and airing date holds a special place in my heart
magicastor9 October 2021
This was the first Big Bang Theory episode I've ever watched and holds a very special place in my heart. Sheldon made this episode with his funny shenanigans especially with the ball pit scene.

Even more special is the fact that this episode came out on 1st February 2010 which was the best day of my entire life. I met two best friends Jesse and Cody, fell for my first crush Georgia, and 4th grade was when I became a lot more social.

I started watching TBBT when I was 9 and was at a time where How I Met Your Mother was in it's prime. For me Seasons 1-5 are the golden age of TBBT and Season 3 is by far the best of them all.

Bazinga!

The Einstein Approximation
studioAT20 August 2022
This is another episode where it feels like they just let Jim Parsons as Sheldon keep the whole thing going and the other characters/actors play second fiddle.

This is fine to a point, but having established a more equal dynamic across the series so far, this is now jarring. I get that Parsons was clearly the breakout star, but...

Overall quite a thin episode, and the the fact they show more of the ball pond scene at the end to pad things out shows this.
