Storyline
Plot Summary |
A look at the work, life and eventual death of singer-songwriter Chris Whitley, whose many albums (on both major and indy labels) received universally good reviews, earning him a fan base among top tier musicians and journalists; though never bringing sustained mainstream success. Whitley released 15 records and toured extensively through the US and internationally into the new millennium. In fall 2005, after almost 30 years of traveling and playing music, Chris Whitley, destitute and battling complications from lung cancer, cancelled the remainder of tour dates in support of his then latest record, Soft Dangerous Shores. Facing illness and eviction, and estranged from his lover of many years, it was unclear of what his future held. This is his story. Written by Anonymous |
