Day of the dead visits on the island, and between heaven and hell!
blanbrn21 September 2021
This episode 8 the final one of season one or perhaps the finale if "FOX" does not renew the "Fantasy Island" reboot, anyway this segment called "Dia de los Vivos" was one entertaining and interesting one that was well written, funny and well done. It's really strange as on this particular day the dead visit the island making it day of the dead. As both Ruby and Elena have past loved ones and family that have passed on visit them to bring back memories. And the other story involves a young artist named Ramon who's been doubled crossed by the cunning con artist manager Jasper(the funny as hell Leslie Jordan). Thing is Ramon wants revenge only Jasper is in purgatory, yet very likely going to the bad place of burning fire, yet the island is the hope makeup medicine for the two to make up and get things right, plus the gates of heaven could open for Jasper. Overall good final episode one of the better ones with the writing and story.

Sweet

It was very nice and a good season (or series?) finale. My favorite parts were the explicit references to the original show.

This was an emotional chapter, but not overwhelmingly so. And apparently, a "bad guy" was introduced.

Even when I really liked this episode, in general I believe that the show should focus a little less in Elena and Rory and more in the fantasies themselves. I hope if they are more episodes, they do just that.

All Souls' Day

Ruby meets her husband Mel and thanks Elena for the surprise. However, she learns that in the All Souls' Day, the dead return to the island to say farewell to and resolve issues with their beloved ones. The owner of an art gallery, Jasper, comes to resolve problems with his stepson Ramon. Javier meets his fellow military friend Michelle to regret the tragic events of her death.

"Día de los Vivos" is a different episode of "Tantasy Island', with a strange homage to the All Souls' Day to the dead and the opportunity to resolve issues before reach the final destination. Japer is an annoying character, but all the storylines are good. My vote is seven.

Leslie Jordan carried this episode by himself

This show seems obsessed with following the hosts and the island more than the guests. Which causes each episode to underwhelm (except one or two). Since there is so little in writing and acting to begin with in these fore mentioned items, investing further is bound to get the show canceled. Yes he original went for 7 years. And it was all about the guests. And several guest stories each episode. Nothing this new show has even come close to handling

I like the premise. But hope they polish and reset the show for a better season 2.

Ain't gonna lie, thought it was a great episode.

It has the strength of the first episode, and it bookended the season beautifully. It has a lot of touching moments and was well written.

The season has a few bad episodes, a little too much cheese on some, but this one was really great and had good depth.

If they come back for a second season, I hope they have more episodes along this line of class.
