Good Wrap Up
gbarrett-399413 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was a good end to the series. I would have rated it higher, but the Deus Ex Machina of this episode made it be resolved a bit too neatly. I would have liked to see a fourth season. Also this episode had a fair amount of plot holes which left the viewer wondering "how did that happen". All in all, a fairly enjoyable end to a good series.

Sad to see it go

Warning: Spoilers
The whole series got off to a bit of an uneven start but it improved greatly.

This was a really good episode with great family values and a real sense of high adventure.

Apparently there's not going to be a fourth series which is a real shame as there was entry of scope for some new adventures.

I did miss the music from the original series though.

Perhaps one day we'll be able to travel to Proxima Centurai B - but that's many years distant.

Season Three Review
southdavid9 March 2022
And so, the finale arrives. The end of the third and final season of this reboot of "Lost in Space". On the whole, I think this season has been really positive - though I did end up wishing that the resolution required something cleverer than what was provided.

With SARS ship arriving into orbit around Alpha Centuri, the Robinson family take the lead in trying to re-establish the defensive dome, an action that brings down the ship, but doesn't slow SAR down very much. Whilst being transported away from the base, Will (Maxwell Jenkins) comes to realise that the engine is not just a transport, but the weapon that SAR used to destroy his creators homeworld and that he needs to be separated from it. From there, an act of kindness and one of sacrifice give the colony a fighting chance.

It was another tremendous looking episode as, in fairness, the show always has been. The performances are really good also. Plot wise, initially I thought it was a little iffy, getting the shield back operating is only really a short-term tactic in stopping SAR, but I did like the twist of the episode and ultimately how the SAR storyline came to be resolved. However, the "getting the gang" together moment in that again didn't really make as much sense as I was hoping for and was lacking a clever touch that I was anticipating as Will arrived.

I think this is indeed probably the right place to end the series. It's first season was poor, which started the show of on the wrong footing and probably shook off a lot of the potential audience, which is a shame, because it's certainly rallied since then - only for covid to hammer out another year of production and leading to the decision to end now. I'm generally satisfied with the episode, the season and the series overall.

A great end of the series!
AndersSTHLM1 December 2021
I really like this season it's for the family and a great way to get kid's to like sci-fi. Yes it's a bit cheesy because of the target audience. But it's fun and the characters keep on evolving. It's amazingly beautiful planet's and the effects is top notch. It's a great end to this series.

Spectacular ending

Warning: Spoilers
Still not clear on why the robots sided with the humans so easily just because they were saved. After all they have programming and are not emotional but otherwise a great series finale. The effects have been stellar throughout and better than most movies. Great acting, suspense and action. Recommend The Expanse on Amazon ( coming back next week for its final season ) for anybody that enjoyed this. And speaking of I just can't fathom what kind of person didn't enjoy Lost in Space. A complete winner in every way. I shall miss it.

Trust Will Robinson
bestford9 December 2021
Excellent 3rd series. Wasn't a fan of season 2 so was torn whether to watch this through. I am so glad I did as this continuation of the Robinson Family story was very well done. The robots were of course the main attraction. I cried I jumped around on the edge of my seat. When I thought all was lost it turned itself around. If your sitting on the fence reading these reviews get off it and get watching.

Overall a great ending to the series!
fatewemake4 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, there are some far-fetched plots such as the whole thing with the robot telling Will to "trust" him which somehow meant I am going to disintegrate and become part of your heart, then SAR will stab you again and I will then take over his body so I can come back in my original robot form. But, the family values, cute banter between the family members (which Judy says includes Don), great special effects and creative ideas more than make up for the shows fault. Many of the plot twists are handled quite well so don't fret over a couple that aren't as good as they could be.

I was emotional during several episodes partly because some of the family scenes are so sweet, partly because of the amazing special effects and partly because I just wished there was more wholesome entertaining sci-fi like this. You may find a few details that don't add up or aren't explained well (especially how Dr. Smith escaped death in last season's finale), but try to find better sci-fi shows out there and you'll find there are little to none.

And they did it in 3 seasons?!
quidam-brujah9 December 2021
For all the poor reviews dissing the writing, I really have to hand it to them that, regardless of what may have originally been intended in terms of story arcs and the number of seasons to do it in, they certainly wrapped things up tighter and more succinctly than some other series that had many more episodes and seasons to do it in (I'm looking at you, Battlestar Galactica, aherm).

While I was totally left wanting more (I'm looking at you, Netflix, aherm), if this is the last episode of the last season of the 2018 'reimagined' Lost in Space, I am grudgingly satisfied-which is not to say that if they wanted to create a new series following the adventures of Will & Robot, I wouldn't watch it-but at least I'm not left with a bunch of dangling threads and an empty feeling and disappointment.

*sigh*

...and Scarecrow, I'll miss you most of all...

Where were the space guns and missiles?
mluinstra5 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This show got better with each season with this third and final season being the best yet, but where the heck were the space guns and missiles?

It was driving me crazy. How can these future explorers be sent into space without any protection at all? What were they expected to do if they met up with hostile aliens or wild beasts, etc?

No missiles on their ships?

Anyways, it was still an enjoyable show. Too bad it ended just as it found it's footing.

pretty decent
Rob-O-Cop5 December 2021
Not quite as good as series 2 and better than series one.

They almost packed too much into it for me, instead of making some parts hit harder.

The Dad getting angry at the robot for not stopping Will from going off on his own and not taking on the robot horde single handed seemed one emotional twist too much, and it didn't really pay off in any meaningful way. There was a bit of that going on throughout series 3 and it cluttered the playing field, but there was also a lot of good stuff.

The world build and special effects were outstanding as they have been throughout the series. Overdid it on the asteroid field and the robot space ship crash right next to the ill-advised kids convoy without taking them all out may have looked good but broke believable physics again.

The acting was pretty good, especially the kids. All the top kid roles delivered and then some.

The adults did pretty good. Still didn't really like the new Dr Smith character, and not in a good didn't like way like the original 60s Smith.

I'd watch a series 4.

The kids are stronger than the adults
eddietam26 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There are three scenes in this episode that I found interesting. Two of the teens, who are girls, Penny Robinson and Judy Robinson at the crashed ship that carried the alien engine.. Both girls lifting it are barely able to carry it, almost dragging it slowly because of how heavy it is. In another scene, while the friendly robots are get defeated, Penny and Judy are seen running to a rover with the engine in hand, like it weighs nothing. Is this the power of adrenaline or some super power that we have never seen before? In another scene Maureen Robinson and her husband, John Robinson both manually lifting and transporting it to one of the land rovers, John struggles to lift it into the rover.. Arrrrg, he moans as he lifts it into the transport vehicle. How is this possible? Heavy, then lite, then heavy again?

It's all about family, one family, the Robinsons
wildsnow905 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First up, John completely blows the Terminator quote, "It Doesn't Feel Pity, Or Remorse, Or Fear, And It Absolutely Will Not Stop, Ever, Until You Are Dead!"

Next up, 6 minutes into the eposide Dad confirms, "they'll be OK, Judy is with them."

But it was Supergirl #3, Penny, that must save the world this time. Don't get me wrong, Penny has been one of shinning parts of the show. I'm glad they finally gave her a good moment.

And as usual, only the Robinson seem to be around and the only ones able to save the world. Where did everyone else go?

How did the others even survive on the planet without the Robinsons?

And the final cringe was Maureen's line, Sigourney dId it so much better.

Yawn. Made me glad it was over. Maybe that was the point.
Maddy-the-Weinerdog27 December 2021
Endless sappy speeches took all the excitement away. How could anyone make an attack by evil robots boring? Watch the last few episodes of lost in space - that's how.

There was absolutely no suspense. Everytime something even mildly exciting happened, they slowed it down with a sappy speech - usually with dialogue no person would ever utter.

Good but meh
gustavsingh25 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It was a great episode with flawless CGI and VFX however, I feel like a lot of things were left unanswered, like "What happens with humanity when there is no Resolute?", "What actually happens between Vijay and Penny?", "How do Will's parents allow him to travel the universe alone?" and, last but not least, "What happens to Smith?".

It was really cool that they shot a scene for season 3 during season 1.

I have lots of questions and there were some inaccuracies.

It does not make any sense how Smith can pilot a spacecraft by reading a flight manual. Pilots train for thousands of hours, so how does Smith just know how to pilot a spacecraft by reading about the functions and capabilities?

How in the world does Will manage to get out of his bed right after a heart surgery?

And suddenly he has over a 100 hours of flight time, which isn't even close to being enough to safely travel the universe alone.

Allowing a 16 year old to travel the universe alone is also really irresponsible, not just because of all the dangerous things they've seen on the planets, but it might just be me.

What if there were the same eels as in season 1? He'd be stranded alone...

Near the end, forgive me if I'm wrong, but does it not hurt to get stabbed in the chest?

Don't worry, enough of my complaining.

I truly loved the series and I hate to see it end, because I feel like it could have used another season.

Trust Not The Writing. That's For Sure.
wandernn1-81-68327430 December 2021
The last 5 minutes of this was the feel good moment ending and sort of left it open that the series could continue. However, the first 55 or so minutes of this were dumb. Dumb as hell. Very disappointed. Robots suddenly just switch sides just because someone pulls a piece of debris off them? That's one of the stupidest things I've seen in the history of video. Robots can shoot, but they don't shoot in every situation. That would be illogical? They only shoot at certain times, like when it won't really kill someone instantly. Dumb!

This particular episode the stupid really showed itself big time. This was cornier than any Star Trek Ep. I've ever seen and that's saying a lot.

If this show gets canned, which it might have already, it's because they must have some kids writing for the show. Definitely didn't seem like an episode for adults at all.

2/10.

Waste of 28 hours of my life
bard-492574 January 2022
I thought they'd stick the landing, but boy was I wrong. This episode is in particular was so full of schlock it's a sad ending to the series that I thought might have some hope. If you want to watch the series, leave reality or common sense behind you - only the shows writers would know how or why this series was written this way.
