Prince Andrew is getting the documentary treatment at Peacock.
The streamer has released the trailer for Prince Andrew: Banished, a 90-minute documentary debuting Oct. 5 that will dive into the “tumultuous and complex” life of Prince Andrew. The feature includes interviews with palace insiders, journalists, and others who were close to the controversial relationship between Prince Andrew, Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein.
The disgraced second son to the late Queen Elizabeth II stepped down from royal duties over his association with the late child sex offender Epstein in November 2019. The decision, an unusual one for a senior royal, followed a televised BBC interview where he came under fire for how he clarified his ties with Epstein and was perceived as lacking sympathy for Epstein’s sex trafficking victims, many of whom were underage. As a result, he was stripped of his honorary military titles and charity roles,...

Parents with preschool-aged kids and younger probably won’t be shocked by the most-watched show on Netflix in 2020. Everyone else, get ready to scratch your heads.
The team at streaming tracker Reelgood kept tabs on all the shows that made it on Netflix’s top 10 rankers this year (since the streamer started publicizing it in late February) and “Cocomelon,” the preschool franchise that began as a YouTube channel featuring nursery rhymes and other kids’ songs, has been a smash.
Netflix began airing episodes of “Cocomelon” earlier this year. It has spent 104 days on Netflix’s top 10 ranker, more than any other program except “The Office.”

Like many powerful men revealed to be predators in the years since #MeToo, it’s impossible to fathom that such an evil abuser like Jeffrey Epstein could have eluded justice for so many years. Stories about the late financier and serial sex offender had been circulating for years before he was finally charged in 2008; even more shocking was the sweetheart deal he struck, brokered by then-Florida State’s Attorney Alex Acosta to evade any real consequences for those charges.
The deeply disturbing and long-running Epstein saga reaches into the highest echelons of society — logs from Epstein’s private jet include multiple trips from President Donald J. Trump and Prince Andrew. Naturally, the story has attracted much attention and not all of it entirely respectful or even focused on the people most affected: The survivors of Epstein’s abuse.

You may have heard about former Jeffrey Epstein partner Ghislaine Maxwell being arrested earlier this month on charges that she helped him sexually abuse minors. While the crimes were committed in the 1990s and 2000s, she was not arrested until soon after this year’s Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich Netflix mini-series came out. The series features victims describing in detail how both Maxwell and Epstein abused them and recruited them into a child sex-trafficking ring.

The name Jeffrey Epstein has been circulating the internet for a while now, as he was arrested last summer and a month after his arrest for charges of sex-trafficking in Florida, Epstein died in jail. Suicide or Murder? Unanswered. His name is back trending as his girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell has just been arrested after hiding out for months. Now Netflix has released a true-crime mini-series titled Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich which tells the story of the decades of sexual abuse and organized gang rapes of minors that Epstein was committing, while also talking with the strong women who survived Epstein’s abuse.

Alan Dershowitz, who defended Jeffrey Epstein against charges that he had serially abused young girls in 2008, has written an essay in The Spectator defending Epstein’s onetime girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, who was arrested on Thursday and charged with six counts related to the trafficking of underage girls, including transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
“Like every other arrested person,” writes Dershowitz, “she must be presumed innocent.”
The lawyer then spent most of the rest of the essay assailing Netflix for its recent multi-part documentary, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, in which one of Epstein’s most prominent accusers says Dershowitz abused her multiple times while she was under Epstein’s control.
Dershowitz has for weeks been assailing
If you want the truth about the false accusation against me, read my book Guilt by Accusation which is free on kindle. It puts the lie to Netflix’s deeply flawed presentation.

Thursday’s arrest of the seemingly elusive Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell is an “important day for justice,” Lisa Bryant, the director of Netflix’s Epstein documentary, told TheWrap.
“It’s an important day for justice and accountability on behalf of the courageous survivors who spoke out about how Ghislaine Maxwell manipulated, facilitated and groomed them for sexual abuse,” Bryant said. “The entire production team of ‘Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich’ hopes to see justice served.”
Speaking further about Maxwell’s arrest, Bryant told EW, “I’d like to see her brought to trial. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But all of our research and the women in the series that we spoke to, all their stories added up and they all mentioned Ghislaine’s involvement. I think there’s a lot of evidence, overwhelming evidence, or they wouldn’t have made that arrest today. I hope that perhaps the...

Through harrowing sit-down interviews with his accusers, interrogation footage of Epstein himself, and legal summaries from his lawyers and law enforcement officials, “Filthy Rich” graphically details Epstein’s lengthy “pyramid sex trafficking scheme” in Florida, New York, New Mexico and the Virgin Islands and questions how the mysterious billionaire was able to evade a harsher prison sentence despite mountains of evidence from his victims and law enforcement investigators.

Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sexual predator and millionaire financier is at the center of Netflix's documentary Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich. The documentary is filled with sickening details of Epstein's sex-trafficking and abuse, and one mysterious death: that of Robert Maxwell, the father of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's ex-girlfriend and close confidante. The megarich media mogul suspiciously died in 1991 after falling off his boat.
After being born in Czechoslovakia in 1923 as Ján Ludvík Hoch, the man who would later call himself Ian Robert Maxwell fled to France and then Britain where he fought in the Army before joining the business world. He made his first big media deal in 1951 when he bought a publishing company that he renamed Pergamon Press. In just over a decade, he became a millionaire.
Over the coming years, he battled with another well-known media mogul, Rupert Murdoch, to buy out media companies. He bought the British Printing Corp.

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, not to be confused with the new Fox drama series about the creation of a Christian television network Filthy Rich, is a docuseries about the life, death and afterlife of Jeffrey Epstein that premiered on Netflix earlier this week. Considering the highly topical subject matter, it was only to be expected that the show would elicit some strong emotions from viewers, and elicit strong emotions it did.
Given the powerful impression that Epstein – whose supposed suicide by hanging while held in custody for sex crimes in late 2019 remains subject to controversy – has made on our culture, it might be interesting to see what folks over on Twitter are saying about this difficult-to-watch series. Before being accused of heinous sex crimes in the early 2000s, millionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein worked very closely with the head of L Brands, Les Wexner. Not only did Epstein have almost full control of Wexner's finances for several years but he seemed to consider the businessman a close friend, some of which is depicted in Netflix's new documentary Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.
Wexner grew up in Ohio, and after building his retail empire, became known as the Merlin of the Mall per The New York Times. He started his L Brands with The Limited before adding Express, Henri Bendel, Lane Bryant, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bath & Body Works, and Victoria's Secret. While some of his major brands were acquisitions, Bath & Body Works was one his company launched.
