Season 10 fan service (and that's a good thing)
konrad-posch29 September 2019
If you're in the final season of a long running scifi (or any genre) show and you don't enjoy fan service, you've made some serious mistakes about all the episodes you've watched until this point.

Fun character scenes, good guest stars, our heros and friends being plucky versions of themselves, what more could you ask for?

The standalone, the ship Episode, the Fan service piece, the "letting down their hair"/holodeck episode; these are archetypes of good scifi and if you don't enjoy them, fine, but you should really ask yourself why you're watching season 10.

Not all episodes of a series should be archetypes. But a well done archetype episode is a thing of beauty. This is that.

Poor plot

Vala has a living father? How is that possible? Vala was the host for Qetesh, an Egyptian god over 3000 years old. She talks to him like she hasn't seen him in 10 years.

G'donya Sam!
daniel-102921 September 2020
About at 29:45, Sam has a go at the producers about the "Stargate" program not having the support it needed, implied. Two episodes to go and missing it already!

It's Not Real Stardust
fcabanski13 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This isn't a real episode.

Many episodes of Stargate Farscape include Ori red herrings. The episodes begin with talk of the Ori threat, but then there's zilch about the Ori in the episode.

This episode is different. It has a Ori side situation red herring. The evil Jaffa had planned an attack on Earth. Vala's dad seeks sanctuary in return for information about this side attack: specifically on Naquadah filled ships ready to attack Earth.

What follows is a completely meaningless episode about Vala's relationship with her dad and General Landry's relationship with his daughter and wife. The bottom line is it's suggested that a fancy dinner with Landry's ex wife is more important than stopping planetary disaster.

Dr. Lam has always been annoying. It's not just her constant blinking. It's her inflection. Her speaking inflection is generally mis-matched to the situation. If only it had been her killed instead of Dr. Mary Ann.

You can skip this one.

Corny and Annoying Filler Episode
claudio_carvalho2 March 2022
The SGC receives a message from a man telling that there are cloaked Arkad's cargo ships with Naquadah ready to destroy Earth and he knows the position of each one. He offers the position but requests sanctuary from the SGC. Vala recognizes the man as her missing father Jacek and tells that he is an untrustworthy man. However, Gen. Landry accepts the deal and brings Jacek to Earth. Soon the man proves that he is a con-artist and brings many problems to the SGC. Meanwhile Gen. Landry asks his daughter Dr. Lam to meet her mother and his former wife in a dinner party.

"Family Ties" is a corny and annoying filler episode of "Stargate SG-1". Why the writers are not closing the lead storyline and using unknown characters to complete the number of episodes in the Tenth Season. Jacek is annoying and Vala picking her box under the bed is maybe the worst scene of this episode. My vote is three.

Waste of time
Calicodreamin17 April 2022
With the end dawning near I am confused why time was taken for this lame storyline? It's a waste of time, not furthering characters or the main storyline.
