Stargate's HQ gets a video message from Vala's most unreliable father Jacek on the planet Robak- he claims to know about the late Arkad's plans to attack and blow up Earth, even about the several cloaked, naquadah-laden cargo ships in orbit, and offers details in exchange for sanctuary. General Landry asks Dr. Lam to help him resume contact with her mother Kim, his ex. Even after the cargoes are found and blown up, Vala abhors her dad's entry. The general asks her to go easy on him, realizing that he, too, neglected his daughter because of his career, even if Jacek's neglect was just criminal. When Cam and Daniel go tell Jacek he shouldn't scam people, he tricks them into talking to Vala for him. Vala goes over just for catharsis, telling him she's through picking up the pieces of his tricks, and he certainly keeps scamming- as Daniel also finds even with Terak, a Jaffa from an escaped cargo ship, who hopes to sell the naquadah. When they are apprehended, Jacek promises to help track ... Written by KGF Vissers

A few lines of dialogue are a veiled reference to the shows cancellation by the network. Mitchell's opening line is "They cancelled it? Really? I didn't even know the new season had started." Carter is speaking with Vala's father Jacek while Dr. Lee works on a problem: Jacek: It's no wonder. I don't mind telling you, I'm a little disappointed in this facility. I was expecting more. Carter: Well, at times, so do we. But the truth is the Stargate program just doesn't get the support it used to from the people in charge. Jacek: Why not? Dr. Lee (Interrupting): Eureka! One down, twelve to go! Jacek: That's too bad. Because after all your Stargate program has accomplished for this network of planets, I would think the decision makers would show it the respect it deserves. Carter (Shrugging): Yeah. The 'Eureka' is a reference to the network's support for that program over the renewal of the Stargate SG1 Franchise. See more »

At the end, Carter brings a bottle of wine and glasses into Vala's room. She sets a screw top bottle of wine at the foot of the bed, and when the camera is focused on Vala, the sound of a cork being worked out of the bottle can be heard. See more »

Vala Mal Doran: [On giving sanctuary to Jacek, Vala's father] General, you're making a terrible mistake. Uh, with all due respect, it's not too late to change your mind.
Major General Hank Landry: I made a deal. I'm not going back on my word.
Vala Mal Doran: Then might I suggest a more liberal interpretation of the agreement? For instance, the word "sanctuary" could mean anything from accommodations in an idyllic tropical setting to say... a lifetime's incarceration in one of this planet's more unpleasant penal facilities.

It's Not Real Stardust
13 October 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This isn't a real episode.

Many episodes of Stargate Farscape include Ori red herrings. The episodes begin with talk of the Ori threat, but then there's zilch about the Ori in the episode.

This episode is different. It has a Ori side situation red herring. The evil Jaffa had planned an attack on Earth. Vala's dad seeks sanctuary in return for information about this side attack: specifically on Naquadah filled ships ready to attack Earth.

What follows is a completely meaningless episode about Vala's relationship with her dad and General Landry's relationship with his daughter and wife. The bottom line is it's suggested that a fancy dinner with Landry's ex wife is more important than stopping planetary disaster.

Dr. Lam has always been annoying. It's not just her constant blinking. It's her inflection. Her speaking inflection is generally mis-matched to the situation. If only it had been her killed instead of Dr. Mary Ann.
