Before global warming there was a fear of the Ice Age!
mm-3918 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Before global warming there was a fear of the Ice Age! Both theories show convincing evidence. The Coming Ice Age has experts, theories, and evidence of the coming ice age! I believe more in the Ice Age after the few winters I experienced in Winnipeg! Leonard Nimoy cold, chilly narrative of deaths in Buffalo, with the blowing winds, and chilling music, made me want to wear a parka while watching! "The Coming Ice Age' gives a chill down my spine. Dated, and laughable for today's viewers. Worth a look! Not a better episode, but okay. 6 out of 10 stars. Don't watch in December, January and February if you live in the Northern Hemisphere! One chilled episode!

Cold Weather
AaronCapenBanner25 September 2014
Surprisingly chilling(no pun intended...) installment is the best of the weather-related episodes, as it explores just how the northern states in America had been bombarded by freezing blizzard conditions, and what it may mean in terms of global climate change, as the Earth cools. The city of Buffalo, New York was the hardest hit, as it was struck by 44 straight days of snow, burying the inhabitants in their homes, cars, or even buildings, bringing life to a stand-still. Fascinating look at scientists trying to measure ice core depths, and understand the origin of this weather shift, makes for compelling viewing. Not to be missed, and still relevant today.

In Search Of... "The Coming Ice Age" (1978)

Watching this episode you can't help but somewhat roll your eyes considering today we're not threatened with an Ice Age but instead it's Global Warming. The Blizzards of 1978 certainly had an impact on people so I'm sure that's why the series decided to take a look at this. Yes, scaring people was a way to get ratings back then too. For the most part this is a very good episode but like I said, watching this in 2016 you can't help but laugh because the episode does warn of cold weather taking over the planet and of course that's not what we're being told today. The interviews are quite good and there's some great footage from the blizzards of that year, which makes this worth watching.

Episode: B+
