A major exhibition at the Barbican explores the history of the sci-fi genre. We catch up with curator Patrick Gyger to tell us more...
Science fiction is now part of the mainstream. No longer confined to the pages of niche pulp magazines or cheap mass-market novels, no longer the preserve of low-budget B-movies, the genre is just about ubiquitous in modern pop culture. From hit films like Interstellar and Guardians Of The Galaxy to such TV shows as Black Mirror and best-selling novels like The Hunger Games, sci-fi has become a vital means of exploring and making sense of the world around us.
See related John Wick 3 already on the cards John Wick 3: Keanu Reeves confirms his interest
For proof, look no further than Into The Unknown: A Journey Through Science Fiction, a major new exhibition which starts at the Barbican Centre on the 3rd June.

From the man who brought you Sharktopus, Monster Ark and Savage Planet, Declan O'Brien brings you the fourth bloody film in the Wrong Turn franchise, titled Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings. This latest film is a prequel to the earlier three films, and this latest production shows the source of those crazed hillbillies. Prepare for inbred mountain folk to take over the sanatorium with knives and hatchets October 17th, 2011. This is when fans of the disturbing can watch O'Brien bring some sanity to the franchise, which seems to be spiralling out of bloody control!
Check the first teaser trailer for the film below, which is mature rated, for too many reasons to list here.
The synopsis for Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings is here:
“Follows a group of friends that decide to go snowmobiling during their winter break. They make a 'wrong turn,' getting lost in a storm,...

Last October we knew that Wrong Turn 3 was most likely on the way thanks in part to Joe Lynch's kickass sequel (review), but it looks like we won't be seeing a return of the fuzzy one to the backwoods of West Virginia.
Bd is reporting that Rock Monster director Declan O'Brien will be bringing the backwoods freaks to the home video market for a second sequel. I'm not really familiar with his previous work with the exception of a certain terror-bear film he wrote called Savage Planet (review)!
No news on the actual plot, but do you really need one when cannibal hillbillies are involved? Inbreds+Gore+Titays = Epic Gold!
