A high school friend of Andy's comes to see him because his daughter has become a crime driven drug addict. She has as a boyfriend a psychotic glue sniffer. The friend has asked Andy to talk to her. She is a real piece of work. She is living with a woman who is transitioning. Andy can't break through, and the next time he is in that apartment, the roommate has been bludgeoned with a huge hammer. The other case has to do with a man robbing graves to extract teeth from dead bodies. The whole thing has a profound effect on Greg who has to contemplate his mortality.
