Mr. Show gets off to a cracking start
Woodyanders21 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
David Cross and Bob Odenkirk really let their own brand of highly distinctive oddball and edgy humor loose in the pilot episode of the cable-TV sketch show. Bob and David asking the audience what they would like to see on the show rates as an especially fresh and inspired gag. The man who encounters great difficulty in getting quarters at a convenience store is likewise absolutely sidesplitting. However, it's the Cops parody Fuzz in Las Vegas depicting the pathetic antics of redneck dolt Ronnie Dobbs complete with cameos from Conan O'Brien as himself and Jenny McCarthy as Ronnie's hot blonde trophy wife that stands out as the definite gut-busting highlight.

Still can't believe it took me more than 25 years to find this!

Timeless comedy, unbelievably creative and ahead of its time! Bob and David are comedic geniuses, as time would tell, again and again.
