Mary's Aunt Flo shows up. She and Lou fight whenever they're together, but they care about each other. Lou decides he should propose to her. The other minor plot line is Ted's investment in a hat store. He shows up in the newsroom with a different hat each day. Unfortunately, the place doesn't do very well. After Lou gets turned down we have a classic scene in that little bar where they hang out. It involves all four principle characters and it is really cute.

Aunt Flo

Mary's somewhat abrasive aunt Flo visits again. Again Lou and Flo squabble like an old married couple. Mary is thrilled when Lou says he plans to ask Flo to marry him.
Meanwhile Ted invests in a hat shop, and brings in assorted hats for himself, Lou and Murray to wear. It sounds silly but it worked for me - I like hats!
The highlights for me were some great Mary - Lou scenes and a fantastic final scene with the newsroom regulars.

Although only 10 years separated Ed Asner and Eileen Heckert, Aunt Flo looked old enough to be Lou's mother. Sorry, the whole premise seemed ludicrious, especially after Lou had dated Charlene, and even Mary's neighbor Paula. Not believable enough of a plot to be funny.
