- TriviaIn the beginning of this episode, when the gang was playing street ball, while Eddie's up at bat, you can see a short palm tree in front of a house in the background. This might indicate that the neighborhood is in a temperate area (such as the American Southwest), rather than the Midwest, as speculated elsewhere. (The series was filmed in the Los Angeles, California, area. The baseball scene was filmed on the backlot of Republic Studios.)
- GoofsThe boys are playing softball, even though they refer to it as 'baseball'. The ball is clearly larger than a baseball, and Wally pitches underhand. Also, the 'crack' of the bat when Beaver hits the ball, breaking the car's window, is much sharper than the sound the softball would have made.
- Quotes
Tooey Brown: Come on, Eddie, cut out the grandstandin' and hit it.
Wally Cleaver: Yeah. We been playin' for n'over'n hour, and you haven't hit one yet.
Eddie Haskell: Ah, leave me alone. I'm not gonna pull any muscles.
Wally Cleaver: Hah! What muscles?
Tooey Brown: Who do you think you are, Ted Williams?

THE BROKEN WINDOW SCANDAL!
Love this story, so true to life!
The only episode directed by James Neilson, famous for directing so many classic episodes for ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS. He also directed the funny nun movie, WHERE ANGELS GO TROUBLE FOLLOWS, always rerun on tv.
Another simple plot. Ward and June tell Beave and Wally NOT to play baseball around the house -- and the car window gets broken in one EZ lesson. Not to worry, Eddie has a plan. Just roll down the window!
Who will know???
I think everybody, at one time or another, had a pal like Eddie with some outrageous ideas. The BIG question... would Eddie have taken his own advice had it happened to him?
Look for popular comedian and bad guy Ralph Sanford as Fats Flannaghan. Sanford appeared in movies and tv frequently, but passed suddenly a few years after this episode due to heart problems. Yes, this story was redone (as were many) on THE BRADY BUNCH where Peter is warned not to play ball in the house and CRASH. You know the rest.
An early Eddie Haskell classic of classics, and with Eddie having some of the best lines. SEASON 1 EPISODE 25 remastered.
