... And Women Must Weep

So if George and Mildred are not working. How do they pay the mortgage? Of course it might just be that they got paid a shed load of money for the compulsory purchase of their old home.

Mildred wants George to get a job, his file has arrived at his new DHSS office and it is a hefty file. George has not worked for years. It makes you wonder how he managed to have his own house.

It is Mildred who gets a job at Jeffrey Fourmile's office leaving George struggling to be a househusband.

Only the third episode but it is little Tristram who is the scene stealer.

The best bit was the DHSS clerk going into detail to George just exactly what he did in the war. It certainly shuts George up.

Role reversal.

Mildred is insistent on George gaining meaningful employment, and an opportunity arises at Mr Fourmile's Estate Agent.

It's a good watch, perhaps not the funniest of the opening trio of episodes, but it really does have its moments.

The duo work incredibly well together, it's easy to see that they had a working relationship, the timing and looks are so natural.

I like the way that George is transformed into The House husband, and for 1976, this wasn't exactly the norm. Is this the first time we see George land a job?

Tristram definitely brings the laughs here too, it's his wonderful innocence that is so funny.

Good fun, 7/10.
