The Good, the Bad and the Urkel

I am not a big fan of such episodes where characters are transformed into a different setting. Especially not where they don't completely correspond to the typical behaviour of that character. Like Urkel was a bit different to me in the wild west.

It is still fun though to see them play with the characters by putting them into Carl's wild west dream. I liked how they made the right occupations for Rachel and Carl. And they had some great costumes, I really liked Urkel's and the scene where he enters the door.

And my favorite moment is after Carl's awakening. Urkel's line "Carl it is no time for lambada" was absolutely priceless.

"Carl! This is no time do the lambada!"

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Carl gets himself in a pickle with Dr. Urkle, Steve Urkel's father and ends up hitting him, Steve asks for a satisfaction but Carls kicks Steve out. What follows is the main plot of the episode: Carl is wacthing a Western movie in the chouch and ends up dreaming that all of what has happened , it's happening in the west, and that he must duel Steve Urkel for the avenging of Doctor Urkel's death. I though this was a good entartaining episode, I thought it could've been much better, but the idea of all of it being a dream was pretty cool. Rachel singing was great, and I specially loved how every time a strange sound appear (coming from the soundtrack of the moment) the characters reacted, a breaking of the fourth wall if it has ever happened on this show. 7/10 ******* Peter Shelby

Nice idea, kind of slow

This episode starts off funny enough but honestly there's too much talk in the saloon before anything actually happens. (I.e the shoot out between Uriel and Carl.) the episode starts off with Carl coming in the house all burned because of a fight that went on between him and Dr. Urkel. Carl caught a nasty stench coming from the Urkel's compost heap and went over to ask Dr Urkel if he could do something about it. Dr Urkel said the stench started when Carl Winslow stepped into his backyard. Carl is then shown having a lengthy dream in which he, Urkel and all of the Winslows are living in the old west. Sheriff Carl accidentally shot Dr. Urkel and Steve Urkel comes to have a gun fight with Carl in the saloon. There is an awful lot of talk before the fight finally takes place and Steve gets a lengthy death scene. Upon waking Carl decides to apologize to D. Urkel .It was all right, but there just wasn't much going on here to really hold my interest.

Better than it had a right to be.

As the title suggests, better than it had a right to be. Normally I hate such themed episodes, but somehow this one broke the cycle. I especially enjoyed Steve's showdown with Carl, and the resulting "Death" Scene.
