Director Chad Ferrin, from Someone's Knocking on the Door and The Ghouls fame, has released the first trailer for The Chair. The clip shows a sadistic prison warden and his many prisoners. Each undergoes a horrifying series of tortures. Starring Bill Oberst Jr., Zach Galligan and Roddy Piper, fans of horror can preview the film here. For more on the story, The Chair focuses on Richard Sullivan (Timothy Muskatell). He is sentenced to Death Row, despite being innocent. His fellow prisoners are used as victims of the warden, while he does his best to survive day to day. When the torture becomes too much, Richard turns on everyone around him. But, when his sanity begins to leave him, Richard begins to understand that there are things worse than death. The first trailer for the film shows some of the settings and characters. The film is shot mostly indoors, behind bars.

Director: Chad Ferrin. Review: Adam Wing. In order to finance Unspeakable, independent filmmaker Chad Ferrin was forced to sell his house, and he didn’t make a dime from it. Three years later he was at it again, but this time – in order to make low budget horror The Ghouls – he waved goodbye to his 68 ½ Mustang. Ferrin was a little more successful this time out, and the finished article has arrived on a features packed DVD courtesy of Cine Du Monde. Unspeakable was Chad Ferrin’s writing and feature-directing debut, and he introduced himself to the world in the loudest way possible. Cheap and cheerless, blunt and brutal, Unspeakable isn’t a good film in the traditional sense of the word, but its raw and uncompromising filmmaking that fans of low budget horror will revel in. Six years after Unspeakable Chad made Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! Both films are now available in the UK,...

Director: Chad Ferrin. Review: Adam Wing. With a tagline that reads “Don’t expect Easter eggs”, Chad Ferrin makes it pretty clear what to expect from his holiday horror Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! Chad cut his teeth on films like Unspeakable, The Ghouls and most recently, Someone’s Knocking at the Door. Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! is his fifth full-length feature, blessed with bloodthirsty killings and more crazies than a George A. Romero movie. There’s a good chance Elmer Fudd won’t be chasing down this particular wascally rabbit, but you can buy it on DVD courtesy of Cine du Monde. A murderous grifter (Timothy Muskatell) cons his way into a mother’s heart, unaware that he’ll have to make ‘nice’ with her treasured son, Nicholas (Ricardo Gray). Mindy (Charlotte Marie) has always had a penchant for ill-fitting boyfriends, unlike the little black dress she wears at the start of the movie.

Best known for a plethora of low-budget direct-to-video scare flicks, scream queen Tiffany Shepis (Nympha, Nightmare Man, The Ghouls, Tromeo & Juliet, etc.) has now turned a corner in her career where she finds her name attached to genre films of growing quality and intelligence. Movies like the dark drama Rule Of Three (see feature here), the Butcher Brothers’ 2010 festival hit The Violent Kind and this year’s Arizona-lensed The Frankenstein Syndrome. Shepis spoke to Fango about (and we got exclusive pics from) the latter mad-scientist tale, written and directed by The Great American Snuff Film’s Sean Tretta.

We've said it before, and we'll say it again ... director Chad Ferrin is a friggin' Psycho! Need proof? How about sitting back, turning down your lights, and watching his acclaimed feature film The Ghouls right now for free?!?
The Ghouls stars Timothy Muskatell, Tina Birchfield, James Gunn, Stephen Blackehart, Tiffany Shepis, and Joe Pilato. Do yourself a favor and dig on this insane slice of sick immediately if not sooner.
Synopsis
Eric Hayes is a stringer. One notch below the lowest rung of the journalistic ladder. A video vulture preying on police chases, ambulance runs and random street violence, selling his footage to the highest bidder and living on a steady diet of cigarettes and bloodlust. For years Eric has lived off of other people's pain and misery. But he's about to discover something beneath the streets of Los Angeles even hungrier for blood than he is. He's about to discover The Ghouls.

One of our favorite directors around these parts, if only because of how absolutely psycho he and his flicks are, is Chad Ferrin (The Ghouls; Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!; Someone's Knocking at the Door) so it's always nice to report on what this maniac has cookin' next!

Chad Ferrin's latest feature Someone's Knocking at the Door is truly one of the most shocking sexually deviant horror films to go out thus far in 2010 and the special features on the DVD show a gamut of behind the scene features and extras. Included on the DVD, released May 25th, is an audio commentary from Ferrin himself and actor Noah Segan (Justin), an audio commentary with Ferrin and actor Timothy Muskatell who plays Detective Young. As well, there is a fourty minute "making of documentary," deleted scenes, extended scenes, a five-minute black and white film entitled "Taldon Drug Test Subject #1" and a whole slew of other extras each of which has been listed below. If you have not heard of Ferrin's independent feature Someone's Knocking have a watch of the red band trailer below and become familiar with this "grueseome and graphic horror tale" (Someone's).

Director/writer: Chad Ferrin.
Crappy World Productions have produced indie thrillers like Someone is Knocking on the Door, The Ghouls, Unspeakable and now Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!. Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! was completed in 2008 and did not find a distributor right away, but recently the film was released by Vicious Circle Films on DVD June 1st (Amazon). This is director Chad Ferrin's fifth feature and some strangeness appears early on in the show in the form of plastic wrap. Easter Bunny stays primarily within one set and while the film has been lambasted by other reviewers (Horroryearbook) the film has some charm while falling off in the third act.
Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!, put succinctly, involves a fractured family with mom performing double-duty as a night nurse and caregiver to a mentally retarded child who also suffers from cerebral palsy (Mrcp). Enter Timothy Muskatell as Remington who plays a low-life degenerate.

One of our favorite indie directors, Chad Ferrin (The Ghouls; Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!), has a new movie poised to hit DVD on May 25th via Breaking Glass Pictures, and we couldn't be happier! Why, you ask? Because Ferrin is a friggin' madman and doesn't think twice about pushing any and every boundary he can!
Someone's Knocking at the Door stars Noah Segan, Andrea Rueda, Ezra Buzzington, Jon Budinoff, Lew Temple, Vernon Wells, Silvia Spross, Elina Madison, and Ricardo Gray.
Synopsis
In this genre-defying grindhouse throwback, a group of drug-addled, sexually deviant medical students are systematically terrorized by Wilma and John Hopper. The Hoppers, serial murderers and rapists, mysteriously return from the 1970s and bring horrifying psychedelia with them. With comedy, subversion, satire, and true gore, the students must face escalating attacks, shocking circumstances, and visceral disgust.

Director/producer Sean Cain (pictured left) sent over a few new exclusive photos (see them below) from his shocker feature Breath Of Hate, with the news that the movie’s official website has gone live. “We are deep into postproduction” on the film, Cain tells us.

It’s early December 2008 and in the a.m. when Fango arrives on the set of writer/director/producer Sean Cain’s Silent Night, Zombie Night. And while there isn’t, at first, much to distinguish this seldom-traveled area of North Hollywood, CA from similar areas of the San Fernando Valley, a certain house on the corner—and its copiously blood-splattered facade—let this scribe know he’s in the right place.
A Velvet Hammer Films production, Silent Night, Zombie Night is shooting day six of a scheduled 12 days, and Fango’s on hand not only to document the carnage being unleashed on the mixed-use...
